Book excerpt: Have you watched in awe as dogs performed amazing feats on TV? Do you wonder, "Why doesn't my dog mind me?" Packed with dog training tips in every chapter, this book challenges you to explore and expand your relationship with your dog. But the author does not stop there. She goes on to employ the same training principles we use with our dogs to evoke a deeper relationship with our Creator. Often, we respond to God the same way our dogs respond to us-confused, distracted, or downright disobedient! Can we learn about obedience, teamwork, and developing a relationship with God by observing our dogs? Margie Clutter's strong Christian faith and proven dog training ability have given her a unique perspective on relationships between dogs and humans, and humans and God. The result is this collection of practical, scriptural, modern-day parables for spiritual growth in your relationship with God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Appearances can be deceptive. This is a small book with the cosiest of titles – The Parable of the Dog – and you might assume that it isn’t deep. Presumably, Jesus’ listeners felt the same when he started to tell parables of straying sons, mustard seeds or mugged Samaritans. Be warned! As with the biblical parables, this soothing appearance disguises the sharpest of steel. This is an important, inspiring and relevant parable that addresses a critical issue in today’s church.

Book Miracle Dog Miracle God

Download or read book Miracle Dog Miracle God written by John McCreedy and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013-10-14 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Im more convinced than ever that if youre going to write a book it must come from deep inside you. I believe thats so true regarding the writing of any good book, but particularly this volume. While my first published work The Seers House arrived in one single vision at 3 oclock in the morning, my second endeavour Miracle Dog; Miracle God took a lot longer to emerge. For over ten years following my first publication, I was caught up in the mission field in Romania and literally didnt have time to write a follow-up. Indeed, only after Id returned from Romania and been separated from my best friend Snowbell, our Golden Retriever Labrador, did I really begin to accept that another book may be about to be birthed. I couldnt shake off the writing of this book and so eventually I sat down and wrote it. Nevertheless, Miracle Dog; Miracle God hasnt been the easiest manuscript to create for various reasons. Trying to keep to my subject matter what God the Father taught me about Himself through the love of a dog, when there was so much more to tell about our Romanian endeavours, hasnt been straightforward. Writing each chapter as a parable was equally challenging, but in the end I think Ive managed to produce what has been within me since 2008. Finally, the emotion I experienced writing about this remarkable little dog was quite unexpected. On numerous occasions I would have to literally down tools and shed tears, while at other times I laughed out loud and so enjoyed reminiscing about happier moments with Snowbell. My desire is that Miracle Dog; Miracle God will make you laugh and cry, yet also instruct you about the amazing unconditional love of God. After all, thats exactly what happened to me when I was introduced to Snowbell, a beautiful gift from God to my life, if ever there was one.

Book Jesus and His Dog Colored Version

Download or read book Jesus and His Dog Colored Version written by Michael Considine Jr and published by Speedy Publishing LLC. This book was released on 2014-03-14 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Author truly believes that the dog is God's most perfect creation, and it shows by the unconditional love dog shows for man. This trait is not shown by any other creature and only shown in the relationship dog has with man, and is a gift from God to man. God is the only other that shows this unconditional love towards man, so the Author feels the dog is very special in God's eyes, even the name "Dog" is a reflection of the name "God". This book will touch on all your emotions, happiness, sadness, anger and in the final chapter this Author's vision of why dogs go to heaven, you will feel the unconditional love given to man only from God and Dog. We all have heard the Gospel stories of Jesus, but the Author tastefully injected a loving companion dog into some of these beautiful stories. He knew some might take offense with him messing with the Gospels, but he is a man of great faith as well as a dog parent, and he takes great pain in writing this book so as to not change the Gospel's real meaning. The best way to see if this book is for you is to hit the look inside button, and you will be able to read the full chapter before you buy. There are a few purely fictional chapters that were added, but they are respectfully written and take nothing from the scriptures.

It is the story of Lass, a worthless animal thought to be untrainable, who becomes a magnificent and valuable sheepdog - not terribly unlike how God's love can transform our worst characteristics into blessings that serve to further His Kingdom. Book excerpt: A man had two dogs. The one he fed grew the biggest. There's an old parable about a man who had two dogs that were constantly at war with each other. One of the dogs was good, representing virtues like loyalty and kindness. The other dog was bad, representing vices such as hatred and lust. Which dog won in the end? That's easy: the one he fed. In the same way, we have two fundamental natures battling for our attention on a daily basis--a sinful flesh and a righteous spirit. Through Christ, we have the ability to choose which nature we will "feed," leading us either further away from or closer to His likeness. Feed the Dog is a video-driven Bible study for middle and high school students (grades 7-12). Through the artistry of illusion and his unique gift of evangelism, Brock Gill guides students to realize the importance of nourishing the spirit through the daily practice of spiritual disciplines. Over the course of eight sessions, students will learn that spiritual disciplines are something we develop over time. With practice and perseverance, students will be able to discern the truth and focus on what's important. They will "taste and see that the Lord is good" (Ps. 34:8), growing in their relationship with Christ and pointing others to Him. Kit includes: Small group Bible study book with leader helps 1 DVD that includes 8 group sessions, promotional materials, and social media clips Features: Interactive weekly teaching videos (approximately 8-10 minutes each) Leader Guide to facilitate small group discussion (located at the back of each book) 6 days of personal study to complete between group sessions Biblically rooted and gospel-centered 8 group sessions, 7 weeks of homework Brock Gill has set the pace for a new generation of edgy, daring illusionists as he amazes audiences with his unique stage show, dry wit, and mind-blowing escapes. His passion for reaching people with the truth that changed his own life has taken his ministry around the world. Understanding that people have short attention spans and a desire to be entertained visually, Brock has learned how to quickly draw in an audience and keep them on the edge of their seats. Brock's message for Christ is clear and effective, and he has seen God touch many lives through his ministry.

Book excerpt: The parable, a short story told to impart a lesson to the listener, was the chief teaching tool of Jesus Christ. In this delightful and inspirational book, author Michael Manning, the TV host of The Word in the World, takes readers on a journey through fifteen of the most beloved parables from the New Testament, in order to enlighten the many different ways seekers can understand God’s presence in their daily lives. From the parable of the talents to the stories of the wedding feast and the Good Samaritan, Manning shows us that God has many faces to meet the diverse challenges we all experience. Certainly God can be seen as a parent or an authority figure, but as the parables demonstrate, God is also a humble servant, a conversationalist, a friend, a risk taker, and an optimist, to name just a few. Knowing this and experiencing God’s many faces can dramatically change your life forever. In our fast-paced, hectic society, Manning’s practical guide for walking a spiritual path is an illuminating, multidimensional work that will help readers to slow down, stop, look, listen, and gaze upon the beautiful faces of God and all his creation.

In A Man, His Dog, and God, author Keith Anderson uses short stories and vignettes focusing on his dog, Bear, and their time together. He recalls how his close relationships with Bear; with his wife, Betty; and with God have sustained him during a most difficult time in his life. God has an eternal love for His people, and He uses all His creatures and creation to convey that love to us. In a Man, His Dog, and God, Anderson felt the Lords call saying: I want you to tell a story using Bear and his experiences to tell my children how much I love them.
