Book Do All Roads Lead to God Ats Pack of 25

Download or read book Do All Roads Lead to God Ats Pack of 25 written by and published by Good News Publishers. This book was released on 2016-08-31 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a common belief today that "all roads lead to God." While it is noble to respect each other's religious faith, the Bible teaches that the only way a person can be reconciled to God is on God's terms. Here are five "landmarks" that set Christianity apart from other roads. The Bible is the only inspired, infallible Word of God! Historians agree as to the authenticity of the New and Old Testament writings, and contrary to popular belief, transmission of the text was completed with 99.99% precision. Conclusive evidence for the infallibility of the Bible includes: the bibliographicaltest; historical and archaeological confirmations; the Bible's harmony and unity (considering it contains 66 books written over 1,500 years, by 40 authors on 3 continents); and the Bible's fulfilled predictive prophecies. There were 330 specific prophecies about the coming Messiah in the Old Testament--fulfilled with 100% accuracy in the life of Jesus centuries later! God spoke to the Old Testament prophets revealing history in advance because he is outside of time. The Bible itself declares, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God [by the Holy Spirit] . . . ." REFERENCE: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Matthew 5:18, 24:35; Psalm 119:89. COMPARE: No other "written religious authority" in historyhas provided such purity of text, such historical/archaeological confirmations, and such extensive prophecy fulfilled anywhere near 100% accuracy! GOD HIMSELF IS THE FOUNDER OF CHRISTIANITY. The God of the Bible is the eternal, triune God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). He is the creator and sustainer of all life, creating the human race to enjoy a relationship with himself. Jesus Christ is the Second Person of the Trinity--God the Son. Jesus humbly took the form of a man and came to earth as Savior to redeem us. Jesus predicted to his disciples that he would die and then rise from the dead three days later, an event which would validate his claims to be God! He did not try to escape death on the cross, but he submitted to it. REFERENCE: John 1:29, 2:19; Philippians 2:6-8; 1 John 4:2; Matthew 12:40, 26:52-54; Titus 2:13; Revelation 13:8. COMPARE: All other religions' "founders" were mere men, not God himself! "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him [ Jesus] should not perish but have eternal life" ( John 3:16)! God the Father gave up his Son for us. His gift of eternal life is free to us, but it cost him crucifixion. God loves every person with an unconditional, divine love! He created us to live in relationship with him, but the Bible says that sin and death entered the world through Adam, in the garden of Eden. Thus, all humanity is guilty of sin against God (Romans 3:23). The penalty of sin is spiritual death (Romans 6:23), but Jesus willingly died on the cross, in our place, to pardon us. If we were to ask God to prove his love for us, he would point to the CROSS! REFERENCE: Matthew 26:31,39; Hebrews 9:22, 13:20; Revelation 13:8; Isaiah 53:4-6. COMPARE: No other religions' "founders" loved people so perfectly, nor sacrificed so greatly to prove it! Other religions require human works for redemption. The good news of Christianity is that God has provided us with the way to himself. THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST IS THE CENTRAL PILLAR OF CHRISTIANITY, and the evidence for its historicity is conclusive. We have the actual eyewitness accounts of this event in the Gospels of Matthew, John, etc.; the empty tomb, despite the presence of the Roman guards, the transformation of the apostles, and the post-resurrection appearances of Jesus. By his resurrection Jesus conquered sin and death, thereby offering new life, eternal life, to us! Jesus declared, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live" ( John 11:25). REFERENCE: John 11:25; Acts 1:3; Hebrews 12:2; Matthew 17:9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8. COMPARE: No other religions' "founders" ever conquered death by resurrection (returning to life). JESUS CHRIST CLAIMS TO BE THE ONLY WAY TO ETERNAL SALVATION. In his own words Jesus declared: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" ( John 14:6). Logically, if there really is a God, then we must come to him by his own prescribed way! That prescribed road, according to the God of the Bible, is by faith in Jesus Christ! Religions are based on various systems of works, whereas Christianity is based on Jesus and what he has already done for us! REFERENCE: John 14:6; Matthew 25:41; Acts 4:12; John 3:16; Romans 10:9; 1 Peter 3:18. COMPARE: Other religions and philosophies claim that all roads lead to God, but their contradictory beliefs cannot be reconciled. THEREFORE . . . It cannot be true that "all roads lead to God." The various teachings about God from different religions contradict each other in critical ways. God cannot at the sametime be both impersonal and personal, both singular and triune, both finite and infinite, both knowable and unknowable. There is no way to reconcile the various worldviews, such as pantheism, monotheism, and polytheism. Therefore, logically, either none of them--or only one--is true! The real issue is Truth, an issue of infinite importance. IN CONCLUSION: Jesus Christ voluntarily died on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago to pay the penalty for our sins and to demonstrate his love for us. He was "God himself who came in the flesh"--the promised Messiah. The gospel of grace is: Whoever believes in the biblical Jesus Christ--who lived, died, and then three days later resurrected--willhave eternal life in heaven! God longs to have a personal relationship with you through his Son, Jesus Christ, who says: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20). REFERENCE: Revelation 3:20; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; John 11:25 WHAT'S NEXT? - Read the Bible and Scriptures in the references above to learn more about God. - Believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, came back to life from the grave, and is your only way to heaven. - Pray: Dear Jesus, thank you for saving me from my sins. I believe that you are my Savior, and I now receive you into my life, so I can have forgiveness and life in eternity with you.

Book Your Ticket to Heaven Pack Of 25

Download or read book Your Ticket to Heaven Pack Of 25 written by Good News Publishers and published by . This book was released on 2006-10 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Your Ticket to Heaven May I offer you a ticket to heaven? You don't have to pay for it, and that's a good thing, because you could never afford to buy it It's free, but only because someone has already paid the ultimate price for it. God loves you and not only wants you to have a fulfilling life on earth, he also wants you to live with him in heaven forever. He's the one who offers you a paid-in-full ticket. No one wants to go to hell where there will be no joy and no pleasures whatsoever, and God doesn't want anyone to go there either. The Bible says that God is "not wishing that any should perish" (2 Peter 3:9). But there is a problem with getting that free ticket. We have all done wrong--we have all sinned, haven't we? God's Word says "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves" (1 John 1:8). Sin pollutes--it makes us unclean, unfit for God's presence in that wonderful, perfect place called heaven. Sin penalizes--it separates us from a sinless God, "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). In short, our sinfulness blocks the delivery of the ticket that we need to get into heaven Who paid for it? Wait There's good news Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth to be born and to live his life without sin. He "suffered once for our] sins, the righteous one] for the unrighteous all of us ], that he might bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18). When God "laid on him the iniquity sins] of us all" (Isaiah 53:6), Jesus cried out, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Mark 15:34). The answer is simple and profound: Jesus was separated from God because he took your place and mine on the cross, and by dying he paid in full the "wages" our sins had earned. Then he rose from the dead, was seen by hundreds of people, and is alive today so you can know him and receive the gift of eternal life--your ticket to heaven. That's right The Bible says, "to all who did receive him Jesus], who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12). That is fantastic You can become a "new" person--born of God--to start a brand-new life that pleases God. And, of course, all God's children have a ticket to heaven Do you want it? It is no accident you were given this offer of a ticket to heaven. God has made sure you can receive it. The whole issue is, did Jesus pay for all your sins or didn't he? God said he did. Trust God that it is so. "Whoever believes in the Son of God] has eternal life" (John 3:36). Just as a man says, "Yes, I will take this woman to be my wife," God wants you to tell him, "Yes, I will take Jesus to be my Savior. I believe that he is the only way to heaven." The Bible says, "Whoever has the Son Jesus] has life" (1 John 5:12). If you believe that God's way to heaven is the only way, you can "claim your ticket" by telling God in words like these: Dear God, I have sinned. I know I have offended you in many ways. I am so sorry. I believe that Jesus suffered and died for my sins, paid my debt in full, and rose again. Jesus, I believe in you and thank you for what you've done for me. Please save me from the penalty of my sins, and give me a new birth and the power to live for you. Thank you for this offer to spend eternity with you Remember what John 3:36 says: "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life." Do you now believe in Jesus as your Savior, your only "ticket to heaven"? Do you have everlasting life, like God said?

Book The Promise of Heaven Pack Of 25

Download or read book The Promise of Heaven Pack Of 25 written by John MacArthur and published by Proclaiming the Gospel. This book was released on 1996-12 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What will heaven be like? Heaven is a place more wonderful than we can ever begin to imagine. It is a place of joy and beauty, of peace and happiness that will never end. Why? Because heaven is also a place where there will be no sin or suffering, no sorrow or pain. It's a place where there will be no quarrels or disagreements, no disappointments or weeping--because there will be nothing there to make us sad. And in heaven we will never do anything to displease God. We will then know perfect joy. Psalm 16:11 says, "In Thy presence is fullness of joy; in Thy right hand there are pleasures forever." Everything that now makes us groan will finally be done away with, and we will find ourselves in the very presence of God, where the purest and truest kind of joy is possible. In heaven we will also have perfect knowledge. The Bible says, "Then shall I know even as also I am known" (1 Corinthians 13:12). We will have no more unanswered questions, no confusion, no ignorance, and no more need to walk by faith rather than by sight. We will live in perfect comfort. We will love God perfectly and will be loved perfectly by Him. His love will engulf us forever. Stated simply, heaven is a place of perfect joy forever. Think of it! We will be perfectly free from evil forever. We will be set free from captivity to sin, and finally able to do that which is absolutely righteous, holy, and perfect before God. With sin and its effects erased

Book How Can We Know That We ll Go to Heaven Pack of 25

Download or read book How Can We Know That We ll Go to Heaven Pack of 25 written by Randy Alcorn and published by Crossway Books. This book was released on 2007-01-01 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A recent poll indicated that for every American who believes he or she is going to Hell, there are 120 who believe they're going to Heaven. This optimism stands in stark contrast to Jesus Christ's words written in the Bible: "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few"(Matthew 7:13-14). The truth is that according to the Bible we don't automatically go to Heaven. In fact, Hell--not Heaven--is our default destination. Unless our sin problem is solved once and for all, we can't enter Heaven. That's the bad news. But once that's straight in our minds we're ready to hear the good news of Jesus Christ--Jesus took upon himself, on the cross, the Hell we deserve so that we could experience for eternity the Heaven we don't deserve! The Only Two Options There are two possible destinations when we die--Heaven or Hell. Can we really know in advance where we'll go? John, one of the writers of the Bible, said this: "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life" (1 John 5:13). We can know for sure that we'll go to Heaven when we die. Do you? To sin means to fall short of God's holy standards. Sin is what ended Eden's paradise. And all of us, like Adam and Eve, are sinners. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from a relationship with God (Isaiah 59:2). Sin deceives us and makes us think that wrong is right and right is wrong (Proverbs 14:12). Sin has terrible consequences, but God has provided a solution: "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, loved us so much that he became a man to deliver us from our sin. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). He came to identify with us in our humanity and our weakness, but he did so without being tainted by our sin, self-deception, and moral failings (Hebrews 4:15-16). Jesus died on the cross as the only one worthy to pay the penalty for our sins demanded by the holiness of God: "For our sake he [God] made him [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21). But God raised Jesus from the grave, defeating sin's consequences and conquering death (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 54-57). When Christ died on the cross for us, he said, "It is finished" (John 19:30). In those times "It is finished" was commonly written across certificates of debt when they were canceled. It meant "Paid in full." Christ died so that the certificate of debt, consisting of all our sins, could once and for all be marked "Paid in full." The Critical Decision Only when our sins are dealt with in Christ can we enter Heaven. We cannot pay our own way. Jesus said "No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Because of Jesus Christ's sacrificial death on the cross on our behalf, God freely offers us forgiveness. To be forgiven, we must recognize and repent of our sins. Forgiveness is not automatic. It's conditioned upon confession: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Christ offers to everyone the gifts of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life. "Let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price" (Revelation 22:17). There's no righteous deed we can do that will earn us a place in Heaven (Titus 3:5). We come to Christ empty-handed. We can take no credit for salvation. "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). This gift cannot be worked for, earned, or achieved. It's dependent solely on Christ's generous sacrifice on our behalf. Now is the time to make things right with God. Confess your sinfulness and accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on your behalf. You are made for a person and a place. Jesus is the person, and Heaven is the place. They are a package--they come together. You cannot get Heaven without Jesus or Jesus without Heaven. "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near" (Isaiah 55:6). For all eternity you'll be glad you did. If you understand what God has done to make forgiveness and eternal life possible for you, you may want to express it in words like these: "Dear Lord, I confess that I do not measure up to your perfect standard. Thank you for sending Jesus to die for my sins. I now place my trust in him as my Savior. Thank you for your forgiveness and the gift of eternal life."

Book Mary Churchill s War

Download or read book Mary Churchill s War written by Mary Churchill and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2022-06-07 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A unique and evocative portrait of World War II—and a charming coming-of-age story—from the private diaries of Winston Churchill's youngest daughter, Mary. “I am not a great or important personage, but this will be the diary of an ordinary person's life in war time. Though I may never live to read it again, perhaps it may not prove altogether uninteresting as a record of my life.” In 1939, seventeen-year-old Mary found herself in an extraordinary position at an extraordinary time: it was the outbreak of World War II and her father, Winston Churchill, had been appointed First Lord of the Admiralty; within months he would become prime minister. The young Mary Churchill was uniquely placed to observe this remarkable historical moment, and her diaries—most of which have never been published until now—provide an immediate view of the great events of the war, as well as exchanges and intimate moments with her father. But these diaries also capture what it was like to be a young woman during wartime. An impulsive and spirited writer, full of coming-of-age self-consciousness and joie de vivre, Mary's diaries are untrammeled by self-censorship or nostalgia. From aid raid sirens at 10 Downing Street to seeing action with the women’s branch of the British Army, from cocktail parties with presidents and royals to accompanying her father on key diplomatic trips, Mary's wartime diaries are full of color, rich in historical insight, and a charming and intimate portrait of life alongside Winston Churchill during a key moment of the twentieth century.

Book God in the Dock

Download or read book God in the Dock written by C. S. Lewis and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2014-09-15 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Lewis struck me as the most thoroughly converted man I ever met," observes Walter Hooper in the preface to this collection of essays by C.S. Lewis. "His whole vision of life was such that the natural and the supernatural seemed inseparably combined. "It is precisely this pervasive Christianity which is demonstrated in the forty-eight essays comprising God in the Dock. Here Lewis addresses himself both to theological questions and to those which Hooper terms "semi-theological," or ethical. But whether he is discussing "Evil and God," "Miracles," "The Decline of Religion," or "The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment," his insight and observations are thoroughly and profoundly Christian. Drawn from a variety of sources, the essays were designed to meet a variety of needs, and among other accomplishments they serve to illustrate the many different angles from which we are able to view the Christian religion. They range from relatively popular pieces written for newspapers to more learned defenses of the faith which first appeared in The Socratic Digest. Characterized by Lewis's honesty and realism, his insight and conviction, and above all his thoroughgoing commitments to Christianity, these essays make God in the Dock very much a book for our time.--Amazon.com.
