As Christians, we are reminded that God hates divorce, but statistically, the rate of divorce amongst believers is similar to that of nonbelievers. When I looked at all angles and seen no open doors, no gaps, and the odds was too much against me, I looked deep within my self and was introduce to my inner spirit that was just waiting to take control. Anger was put on the side, patience and planning was the key. I had to clear my mind of negative thoughts and separate myself from negative people. Her battle of defeat was yet to be won. I hope this book will encourage someone else that there’s hope, if you are willing to apply it and negative thoughts have no place in the courtroom.

Book Preparing for Marriage

Download or read book Preparing for Marriage written by Jim and Teresa Adams and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-05-12 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whether you're in a relationship now or want to be in one, you have come to the right place. We can help. The average couple spends $25,200 and over 250 hours on their wedding. That same couple spends less than $100 and two hours on their marriage. Don't be guilty of having a BIG wedding and a BAD marriage. Don't spend more time focused on the ceremony than the matrimony. The wedding, while a tremendous celebration is designed to last less than a day in most cultures, while the marriage is designed to last a lifetime. Dating, engaged, married (happily or unhappily), or remarried, if you follow this resource, it is guaranteed to help you make the right decision about marriage, prepare you for marriage, or strengthen the marriage you are already in. Teresa and I have been working on this manual all our married lives - not because we are really slow writers, but because this manual is the compilation of everything we have learned in our personal lives as a married couple for 30 years with four children - boy do we have some stories to tell - as well as our professional training. This book is a compilation of what we have seen work and not work in more than 20 years of practical application working with dating, engaged, married, and remarried couples. We developed this system out of necessity. We used another manual for more than a decade until it was literally no longer available. We looked for other resources, but never found one that fit our style and that really resonated with the couples we were coaching and counseling. Finally we decided to develop our own. We completed the first draft of this manual in 2010 and started using it in our weekend intensive sessions where Teresa and I meet with a couple for approximately 10 to 12 hours from Friday afternoon through Saturday (all day). As we used this tool, we have been constantly writing, rewriting, and adding as questions and issues arose that we did not initially include in this resource. We would often leave the counseling room that Friday, come home, and add or modify a section based on a situation we saw or anticipated seeing the next day in the intensive. Though we have never made this tool available to anyone other than the couples we have personally worked with, our clients have urged us to share this resource, as they were genuinely moved and changed by the information contained herein. What you hold in your hands is the result of this process. This product was not developed in a classroom, using a lot of relationship theory, but rather forged in the crucible of real-life situations and circumstances. This resource is just the beginning of your journey through Relationship Success University. Book Healing Wholeness After Divorce

Download or read book Healing Wholeness After Divorce written by Amina Campbell-Jackson and published by Fulton Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-04-05 with total page 69 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Once a marriage has failed and ends in divorce, both parties experience a gambit of emotions, internal questions, fear, and often go through a psychological and spiritual warfare in order to accept the failure of the marriage, as well as the true cause for the demise. In order to be whole again, it is necessary that each person learns what can be done differently moving forward, forgive themselves as well as their former spouse, and choose to work through their pain to utilize this negative event as a growth opportunity to catapult them into their future. Healing and wholeness after divorce is possible, but it requires intentionality in order to move from a place of grief to a mindset of greatness, from pain to a place of power, and from divorce drama into divine destiny. This book is simply an outline of one woman's journey to healing and feeling whole again as an individual, through faith in God and the opinion that all things are possible to those that believe (Mark 9:23).

Book Dear Christian We Need a Divorce

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As one considers the current political and religious atmospheres surrounding us, we’re often left wondering how we got here. Many Christians find themselves frustrated with both the state of our nation and the state of the church and wonder what can be done about it. We’re at a place we’ve never been before in our young nation. We’re also at a place spiritually that seems unfamiliar. In Dear Christian, We Need a Divorce, author L. V. Primo explores the drift that’s occurred, shares an overview of a variety of topics including women’s rights, the environment, and immigration; and shows how the causes are both multifactorial and complex. Solution focused, Primo points the lens backward and looks at what’s been successful in past generations, offering an indication to what needs to be done to heal the chasm that currently divides us. Dear Christian, We Need a Divorce, takes a hard look at the basic teachings of Jesus Christ and applies them to modern day politics. It reviews the sobering statistics of the church and offers a review of how to return to fundamental teachings.

Download or read book Gray Divorce written by Jocelyn Crowley and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2018-01-23 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After twenty, thirty, or even forty years of marriage, countless vacations together, raising well-adjusted children, and sharing property and finances—what could go wrong? Gray Divorce offers a provocative look at the growing rate of marital splits after the age of 50, showcasing the voices of men and women who are considering, going through, or have undergone one. With empathy and insight, Jocelyn Crowley, who has written widely on family issues, uncovers the reasons for why men and women divorce—and the penalties and benefits that each pay for their choice. From the outside, many may ask why couples in mid-life and readying for retirement choose to make a drastic change in their marital status. Yet nearly 1 out of every 4 divorces is “gray.” Crowley sheds light on why divorce occurs—seeing marriage in a different lens, understanding the seismic shift in individual priorities, and the impact of the increase in life expectancy. With a deft eye, she analyzes the experiences of women and men as they go through this life transition—specifically how women are affected economically while men are affected socially. With a realistic yet passionate voice, Crowley shares the personal positive outlooks and the necessary supportive public policies that must take place to best help new divorcees. Engaging and instructive, Gray Divorce is a must-read for anyone interested in contemporary American culture.
