Book Come Sweet Day Thoughts and Poems from Hard Times to Hope A Writer s Journey

Download or read book Come Sweet Day Thoughts and Poems from Hard Times to Hope A Writer s Journey written by Julianne Donaldson and published by Shadow Mountain. This book was released on 2021-04-06 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bestselling romance author Julianne Donaldson has written deeply emotional, sweeping love stories in Edenbrooke and Blackmoore, often commenting that her characters were a reflection of what she wanted a woman's life to be: happy, secure, unconditionally loved, and fulfilled. But in reality her own life was far more marked by difficult challenges and disappointments. In her new book, Donaldson reveals her thoughts and feelings from that unsettled time of despair and suffering so women can know they are not alone and that there is hope even in the hard times. Compiled from years of inspirational words of encouragement to herself on social media--and even bits and pieces of random musings written on scrap paper, this is a unique writer's journey through a life passage marked by cancer, a bitter divorce, legal battles with her ex-husband, mental illness, and persistent feelings of rejection and abandonment which also rendered her unable to pick up her career as a writer to support herself and her family. Overwhelmed by sadness and almost paralyzed into inaction by despair, she slowly finds her way back to her writer's toolbox, unpacking the pain and sharing her innermost feelings as if revealing a character's thoughts in a novel. In her writing she begins to find rays of understanding and acceptance and eventually finds strength from knowing that God's love and His grace and guidance give greater meaning to our suffering and light the way to hope.

Download or read book Divorce to Healing written by Brent Papineau and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-08-31 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WHEN DIVORCE NEEDS TO BECOME HEALING Divorce brings with it feelings and emotions that people usually have never had to experience before. They range from pure anger and despair to pain and loneliness. Don't let the lack of forgiveness and trust cause you to live one more day with pain and discouragement. Let God use His Word and the principles they teach to guide your way as you learn to discover healthy thoughts and actions. Divorce to Healing: 31 Days of Healing and Wholeness will address many of the most common issues surrounding separation and divorce. It will also challenge you to face the hard times head on so that true healing can bring forth wholeness. When God gave me the thought for this devotional, I felt that it needed to have a little different scope and usage than a regular devotional book. First, I wanted something that could be used or started on any day of the month and you would be able to start connecting. Every day is different and I think the concept of days versus chapters made a lot more sense. Second, I wanted to be able to present it in such a way that it could be used over and over again. The title is not 31 days TO or FOR Healing and Wholeness, because we all know that it is a process and just doing a 31 day devotional will not do it for you. Third, I wanted to be able to have a resource that people felt comfortable with using as a measuring stick. By going through the 31 days multiple times, you can see your progress pertaining to each subject. Maybe this month you have no desire to forgive, but within a month or two, it may be something you are willing to address. Fourth, I wanted a resource that people could pick up at any time and refer back to it, especially since the contents have also been listed by subjects to make it easy to find that specific area you desire to read about. Lastly, I wanted something that people would be willing to use and borrow or give away so that it would bless others as well. There are millions of hurting people, just in America, that would love to have something to refer to when they are needing a little extra help. My prayer is that this devotional will be a blessing to help you heal, become whole, and be able to help someone else through what God is doing in you.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The eagerly anticipated new edition of the bestselling introduction to x86 assembly language The long-awaited third edition of this bestselling introduction to assembly language has been completely rewritten to focus on 32-bit protected-mode Linux and the free NASM assembler. Assembly is the fundamental language bridging human ideas and the pure silicon hearts of computers, and popular author Jeff Dunteman retains his distinctive lighthearted style as he presents a step-by-step approach to this difficult technical discipline. He starts at the very beginning, explaining the basic ideas of programmable computing, the binary and hexadecimal number systems, the Intel x86 computer architecture, and the process of software development under Linux. From that foundation he systematically treats the x86 instruction set, memory addressing, procedures, macros, and interface to the C-language code libraries upon which Linux itself is built. Serves as an ideal introduction to x86 computing concepts, as demonstrated by the only language directly understood by the CPU itself Uses an approachable, conversational style that assumes no prior experience in programming of any kind Presents x86 architecture and assembly concepts through a cumulative tutorial approach that is ideal for self-paced instruction Focuses entirely on free, open-source software, including Ubuntu Linux, the NASM assembler, the Kate editor, and the Gdb/Insight debugger Includes an x86 instruction set reference for the most common machine instructions, specifically tailored for use by programming beginners Woven into the presentation are plenty of assembly code examples, plus practical tips on software design, coding, testing, and debugging, all using free, open-source software that may be downloaded without charge from the Internet.

Book Divorced But Not Forsaken

Download or read book Divorced But Not Forsaken written by Julie Brown and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2008-12 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are few remaining topics in the Christian church that can raise a more vehement and diverse response than divorce. For the last thirty years, the church seems to have watched from the sidelines as the number of failed marriages within its membership has risen to reflect statistics alarmingly similar to the secular world. Rather than addressing the reality that even some Christian marriages will end in divorce, church leaders have responded with a generally confusing mixture of ignoring the problem, or admonishing those struggling with bad marriages to simply figure out a way to remain in the marriage. These diametrically opposed tactics may seem to provide a comprehensive solution, but in fact leave in isolation the continually growing population of divorced Christians who must deal with this emotionally and spiritually charged life experience. Divorced but Not Forsaken: Experiencing God's Healing as Marriage Ends is the book that I needed to read as I was seeking answers during my own divorce. "The healing process that transpires through the pages of Divorced but Not Forsaken can be felt by the writer and reader alike." -Michelle Meacham Meacham's Editorial Services; (920) 559-6151 [email protected].

Book excerpt: “I’m a simple village girl who has always obeyed the orders of my father and brothers. Since forever, I have learned to say yes to everything. Today I have decided to say no.” Nujood Ali's childhood came to an abrupt end in 2008 when her father arranged for her to be married to a man three times her age. With harrowing directness, Nujood tells of abuse at her husband's hands and of her daring escape. With the help of local advocates and the press, Nujood obtained her freedom—an extraordinary achievement in Yemen, where almost half of all girls are married under the legal age. Nujood's courageous defiance of both Yemeni customs and her own family has inspired other young girls in the Middle East to challenge their marriages. Hers is an unforgettable story of tragedy, triumph, and courage.
