Download The Shift and allow these lessons to guide you down a more authentic and rewarding path today. As we contemplate leaving the morning of our life, where ego has played a commanding role, and entering the afternoon (and evening), where meaning and purpose replace ambition and struggle, we may encounter unexpected occurrences that accompany this new direction. It’s almost a universal law that we’ll experience a fall of some kind. Yet these falls or low points provide the energy we need to move away from ego and into a life of meaning and purpose. The Shift doesn’t mean that we lose our drive and ambition; it signifies that we become ambitious about something new. We make a commitment to living a life based on experiencing meaning and feeling purposeful, rather than a life based on never-ending demands and false promises that are the trademark of the ego’s agenda.

Book Met noia Repentance

Download or read book Met noia Repentance written by Choongjae Lee and published by . This book was released on 2020-04-13 with total page 259 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Matthew describes the beginning of Jesus's ministry with the summary words, ""μετανοεῖτε (repent/turn), for the kingdom of heaven is at hand"" (3:2; 4:17). Why does Matthew use this command, μετανοεῖτε, at the beginning of his ministry, and how does it relate to the rest of the Gospel? What do μετανοέω and μετάνοια mean? Scholars have stated that μετανοέω in 4:17 has critical value for understanding Matthew because the verse functions as a summary statement (or key phrase) of Jesus's public ministry and teaching. This book argues the thematic significance of μετάνοια (turning/repentance) in the Gospel of Matthew. The lexical idea of μετανοέω and μετάνοια involves a turning of mind (or heart, will, thinking) and behavior, and so in turn of one's whole being and life. This opening commandment of turning (μετανοέω), especially the concept, the essence, and the contents is fully revealed throughout the body of Matthew in various ways. Discipleship, the language of righteousness, doing the will of God, changing one's heart and mind, the Great Commission, and Matthean soteriological theme convey the essence of μετάνοια and the contents of the fruit worthy of μετάνοια(3:2, 8; 4:17). The five major teaching blocks (5-7; 10; 13; 18; 23-25) teach the theme and the content of μετάνοια.

Download or read book Divine Shift written by Deloris J Washington and published by . This book was released on 2020-09-29 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Divine Shift highlights the stories of five authors who God challenged and ultimately delivered from Religion to Relationship.Religion is a set of manmade rules, intertwined within the faith. In religion, however, there are sometimes more rules than faith. After all, the two are always at odds with each other. The rule says this is the way it is. It has always been done this way, and it must always be done the same way. Sometimes those rules cause invisible wounds. The problem with those invisible wounds is on the surface; they can be ignored that they are there until that same spot is pricked, and then, the wound will erupt. Sometimes, the eruption is what some have labeled as "church hurt," meaning something might have been distasteful, downright wrong, or just plain ignorance that happened in a church building. There is a tendency to relate those incidents to the church at large, and sometimes even to God Himself. Faith is just the opposite. It does not need rules, only believe, hope, love, and a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Lean into the small window of these stories and watch the transformation. There is no doubt that you will catch a glimpse of your story too.

Book excerpt: Divine (Godhead) Principles is a Christian book that is normally based on the fundamental doctrine of all truth which is Jesus Christ and it encourages us to apply biblical principles in order to obtain biblical blessings, and it is a powerful tool which will help readers to understand who they are in the Lord, Jesus Christ especially in this end-times where people are running away from the truth. This book contains fresh revelations from the spirit whereby God is teaching about the third dimension principles (The holiest things of the heavenly places). This doctrine introduces us to the Kingship and the Lordship of Jesus Christ which lives inside of us; there let us rule over the circumstances of life and exercise dominion over demonic and satanic powers. You are born of an incorruptible seed of Abraham, you are incorruptible; the favour (the unlimited grace) of the Lord is upon you.

Schleiermacher and the nineteenth century theological legacy to Barth's distinctive perspective, based in large part on his interpretation of Anselm's Proslogion. Whereas many scholars have dealt with the methodological changes brought about by Anselm, this book examines the movement in Barth's christological formulation, arguing that Barth's mature Christology cannot be understood apart from his interpretation of Anselm.

Book The Way Forward

Download or read book The Way Forward written by O'Niel Fisher and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2012-02 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Confused? Frustrated? Perplexed? You're not alone. Today these are common reactions to the often baffling world we live in. But this plague isn't restricted just to the secular world; it has seeped into the church as well. The Bible speaks out about the many pressures that would fall upon the church prior to the coming of Christ. It is amazing, though, that so many Christians have disregarded this warning from the Word of God. As a result, many have lost their sense of purpose and direction. The Way Forward explores the various challenges faced by the believer and the church today. It is intended to help you better understand God's glorious purpose for the church and your personal part in it. It will give you God's perspective, rather than man's. The content emphasizes the soulful plea of the "called-out" believer for the return to holiness, as delineated by God. The church is positioned for the most crucial stage of its human and spiritual experience-the Lord's arrival. This book seeks to be a gauge as to where one may be in God's economy and to spiritually awaken and inspire the thirsty soul to a higher level of consciousness. The message of this book is simple: move forward and refuse to become stagnant or motionless! In today's confusing, challenging, and directionless world, it's just too easy for a person of faith to feel lost and alone. The Way Forward provides inspiration to help maintain and redirect your walk with God.

Sharing sacred practices to align with the soul’s wisdom, shift energy from fear to love, and release grief, anger, sadness, anxiety, and self-doubt, the author explores how to see the hidden beauty of each painful moment we encounter. Book Chasing Mystery

    Book Details:
  • Author : Carey Walsh
  • Publisher : Liturgical Press
  • Release : 2012-11-01
  • ISBN : 0814680941
  • Pages : 177 pages

Download or read book Chasing Mystery written by Carey Walsh and published by Liturgical Press. This book was released on 2012-11-01 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why does God have to be so exasperatingly silent? Why can't we see him at least long enough to allay doubt? How does one grow deeper in love with God against the cultural currents of disdain and antagonism? Chasing Mystery is an exploration into how the Bible negotiates the presence and absence of God in the hopes of forging a path in situations where absences often seem more pressing than presences. Amid the prevailing skepticism and restlessness, says Walsh, we must relearn the skill of trust in reading Scripture. The aim is to experience God through holy writing. Walsh offers a work in biblical theology that explores the liveliness of the God of the Bible. She insists that the pages of the Bible do not simply describe divine presence; they evoke it in the process of reading. Not all the time, certainly not predictably, but enough to warrant a trust. Her goal is to strengthen the heart's reading competency in order to facilitate our encounter with God.

Book The Divine Heartset

    Book Details:
  • Author : Crispin Fletcher-Louis

Download or read book The Divine Heartset written by Crispin Fletcher-Louis and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2023-11-21 with total page 955 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fruit of a decade’s research, this volume offers a new interpretation of the dense Christological narrative in Philippians 2:6–11, taking inspiration from recent advances in our understanding of the letter’s Greek and Roman setting and from insights made possible by recently created linguistic databases (such as TLG and PHI). The passage’s praise of Christ engages the language of Hellenistic ruler cults, Platonic metaphysics and moral philosophy, popular (Homeric) beliefs about the gods, and Greek love (eros), to articulate a scripturally grounded theology in which God is revealed to be one in two persons (God the Father and LORD Jesus Christ). The volume also explores hitherto unseen ways in which the central Christ Hymn is tightly connected to the rest of Paul’s argument. The hymn presents Christ as an epitome of the ideals of Greek (and Roman) virtue, to support Paul’s summoning his readers to a life of praiseworthy and exemplary civic conduct (in 1:27). New or recently proposed translations are advanced for numerous words and phrases (in, e.g., 1:8, 11, 27; 2:3, 4, 6, 11; 3:2, 4) and a new (non-Stendahlian) approach to Paul’s boasting in 3:4–6, that is Christological rather than biographical, is put forward.
