Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Messages delivered during healing meetings In 1915, Aimee Semple McPherson began traveling around the United States, holding tent revivals, with some crowds reaching well over thirty thousand people. The tent revivals of this vivacious and spirited speaker would last weeks in any given city across the country. She used a brass band, choirs, and props of all sorts in her sermons. During McPherson’s ministry, tens of thousands of people were healed when she prayed for them, but she herself took no credit for the healings, instead giving full credit to God. She insisted that divine healing was not found in the emergency room, the world of entertainment, or the scientist’s laboratory; it was a church sacrament, accessible by faith and devotion alone. Divine Healing Sermons is a collection of the messages McPherson preached during her amazing ministry. They remain as powerful and accessible today as they were a century ago.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Divine Healing Sermons Unto the sick and the suffering, whose weary, thorn-pierced feet have trod affliction's rugged path unto the weak who have need of strength, and unto the strong whose heart would fain be skilled in faith to render succor to the weak, this book is loving ly dedicated in the Name of Him who gave Himself for us and by Whose stripes we are made whole. Day and night I have but to close these eyes of mine to see again, through misty tears, the drawn, white, pain-blanched faces of the afflicted of my people. One moment I am all a-weeping for the multitudes shut outside the crowded doors and for the thousands we could never reach, though we toiled day and night. Book The Grace of Healing Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Grace of Healing Classic Reprint written by J. W. Byers and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-21 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Grace of Healing We have no other foundation than the word of God for our faith in divine healing. We need no other. Every unbiased mind must see it in the word of God. Testimony is good, and often gives a divine impulse to our faith in the living promises; but the word of God alone is the Rock upon which our faith must stand. Every individual must find this sure foundation for his feet, so that in every trial his faith may rest secure, and he may triumphantly say, I am built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner-stone. Praise God! We are in the midst of all the gospel privileges. Let us open our hearts toward God, and through his excel lent living Word let us drink in the streams of unceas ing blessings. Our spiritual and physical life may be deluged with grace. The throne of grace is accessi ble, and provides every need for soul and body. We use the term grace of healing because it is the favor of God shown toward us in his merciful pro vision for the health of his people. The health cove nant with Israel was but the foreshadowing of this grace, which should be revealed through the gospel of Christ, which is extended to all who meet the condi tions of redemption, and through faith become heirs according to the promise. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Divine Healing: Mind and Faith Cure; The Science of Health and Happiness In presenting this book on divine healing to the public, the author has no apologies to make; believing that it will meet with the hearty approval and support of everyone who peruses its con tents. It is the first and only book of its kind ever published, and is indeed a book of revelations from start to finish. It is the key to the scriptures and unlocks the portals containing the secrets of divine healing, and reveals them unto man. When Christ bestowed power upon His disciples to preach the gospel, He also bestowed upon them the power to heal the sick. And He said unto thein, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, and these signs shall follow them that believe: In My name shall they cast out devils, and they shall 'lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. We have our Savior's example. We are told that He is the way, the truth and the life; He went over Palestine and Judea, preaching the gospel and healing the sick. What He did He said we should do, and we are doing. His command to His disciples was to go into all the world and preach this gospel that He had been teaching them, and these signs should follow those who believed. Mind you, the signs were not to follow the preacher, but the command was to go and teach the gospel and preach it, and these signs shall follow those who believe your preaching. What were these signs P Among other things, they should drink deadly poison and it should not hurt them; they should handle reptiles and nothing could harm them they should lay their hands on the sick and they should recover. In the Bible this is the only definition given of a believer, how a believer should be known. He who believes, has and must have that power. The signs must follow. They had the powe then, and according to the immutable and unchangeable laws of God Almighty there never was a change; those who believed then had the signs following, and those who believe today have the signs and can heal the sick. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Laws of the Divine Healing These two forms of special divine healing will probably remain permanent in the church of the future, for the violation of hygiene laws, the accidental breaking of bones, the infliction of accidental wounds, and the weakness of life force in infancy and old age will continue into the New Age, and never cease; and will always call for more or less of divine special healing by prayer and faith. I believe that all necessary discoveries for the practice of these two forms of special healing are in the following pages practically perfected, and cannot be essentially improved, and will be used all through the ages of ages on which we are now entering. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Christian Healing and the People's Idea of God: Sermons Delivered at Boston And still another Christian hero, ere he passed from his execution to a crown, added his testimony: I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith. But Jesus, the model of infinite patience, said: Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. And he said this when bending beneath the malice of the world. But why should the world hate Jesus, the loved of the Father, the loved of Love? It was that his spirituality rebuked their carnality, and gave this proof of Christianity that religions had not given. Again, they knew it was not in the power of eloquence or a dead rite to cast out error and heal the sick. Past, present, future magnifies his name who built, on Truth, eternity's foundation stone, and sprinkled the altar of Love with perpetual incense.
