Book excerpt: The Divine pattern touches every aspect of our lives and holds the key to joy, peace and harmony within our marriages, communities, churches and all social structures within our world. In the relationship between God and His Son, we behold the key to this divine pattern. The more and more we behold them, love them and pattern our lives after them, the more receptive we become to their channel of blessing in our lives. Before this world began, Satan and his angels moved to obscure the divine pattern and replace it with a counterfeit that would break the circuit of God's boundless love and bring untold misery to the world. Uncover this deceptive counterfeit and see, in the great original divine pattern the key for returning our church to the worship of God and His Son.

Book excerpt: The Divine Dance has become a classic for fans of Richard Rohr and an important book on Christian mysticism, it provides a fresh perspective for anyone studying or teaching the trinity. The Trinity is the central doctrine of Christianity, but it is still widely considered a mystery we won't ever fully understand. Should we still try to understand it, even so? If we could, how would it transform our relationship with God? In this stimulating and thought-provoking book, internationally recognised teacher Richard Rohr explores the nature of God and the paradoxical idea of the Holy Trinity as both three and one. With clear, surefooted wisdom, he encourages us to build on the early Christian understanding of the relationship between Father, Son and Spirit as a flow and dance - a Divine Dance - that we are invited to join in. An engaging, accessible look at the nature of God, The Divine Dance will challenge the way you think about the Trinity and give you a much fuller understanding of the triune relationship that is at the heart of Christian doctrine. It will leave you with a faith that is renewed and strengthened, and show you how you can engage more deeply in your relationship with God and the world through the Trinity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a great need for wisdom in our society today Lack of wisdom is destroying the lives of many young people, and making fools out of some who are older. Marriages are destroyed, friendships lost, souls doomed for lack of wisdom. The walk of the Christian is to be with wisdom as we go through life - Ephesians 5:15-17. Because time is fleeting, and the days are evil, we must make the best use of our time. Too many today are wasting both their time and their lives by failing to exercise wisdom in their daily lives.

Book The Legacy of Rulership in Fernando de Alva Ixtlilxochitl s Historia de la Naci n Chichimeca

Download or read book The Legacy of Rulership in Fernando de Alva Ixtlilxochitl s Historia de la Naci n Chichimeca written by Leisa A. Kauffmann and published by University of New Mexico Press. This book was released on 2019 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book Leisa A. Kauffmann takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the writings of one of Mexico's early chroniclers, Fernando de Alva Ixtilxochitl, a bilingual seventeenth-century historian from Central Mexico. His writing, especially his portrayal of the great pre-Hispanic poet-king Nezahualcoyotl, influenced other canonical histories of Mexico and is still influential today. Many scholars who discuss Alva Ixtlilxochitl's writing focus on his personal and literary investment in the European classical tradition, but Kauffmann argues that his work needs to be read through the lens of Nahua cultural concepts and literary-historical precepts. She suggests that he is best understood in light of his ancestral ties to Tetzcoco's rulers and as a historian who worked within both Native and European traditions. By paying attention to his representation of rulership, Kauffmann demonstrates how the literary and symbolic worlds of the Nahua exist in allegorical but still discernible subtexts within the larger Spanish context of his writing.

Book What Manner of Man Is This

Download or read book What Manner of Man Is This written by John W. Hawkins and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2009-04-15 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who was Jesus? Was he just a Jew who lived 2000 years ago? Was he God incarnate? Was he the Messiah, a teacher, a healer, a miracle worker or a world savior? He was all of these things, depending on what source you are using to define him. This book tells us about Jesus, perhaps the greatest man who ever lived among us, through a number of different, and often differing sources: (1) The Holy Bible - both Old and New Testaments; (2)modern scholars and historians who make frequent use of documents not discovered until the middle of the last century; (3)from the stories of people who knew him uncovered though the agency of past-life regressions; and 4)from two well-known twentieth century psychics, Edgar Cayce and Levi Dowling who obtained their information from what they called the "akashic records". To supplement the material quoted herein footnotes are provided that list the author and publisher of more than sixty books used in doing research for this book.
