Book Proceedings of the 2023 2nd International Conference on Public Culture and Social Services PCSS 2023

Download or read book Proceedings of the 2023 2nd International Conference on Public Culture and Social Services PCSS 2023 written by Youbin Chen and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-11-28 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an open access book. 2023 2nd International Conference on Public Culture and Social Services (PCSS 2023) was held on August 11–13, 2023 in Qingdao, China Public culture is a cultural form formed to meet the common needs of society, where everyone can participate in culture, enjoy culture, and create culture. A good public culture can not only enhance the happiness of residents, but also cultivate one's character through moral cultivation. Moreover, it can improve the charm, vitality, self-confidence and cohesion of the city, and promote the cultural exchanges between the city and the outside world. The more developed the economy is, the more powerful the country is, the more it attaches importance to the construction of Urban culture. Public culture is the basic culture of a city and has far-reaching significance in shaping Urban culture. Social services refer to activities in the fields of education, medical and health care, elderly care, childcare, housekeeping, culture, tourism, sports, and other social sectors that rely on diverse entities to provide services to meet the multi-level and diverse needs of the people. They are related to the most direct and practical interests of the general public. There is an essential difference between social services and for-profit commercial services, as they are welfare services. PCSS explores how to make society develop better and people feel happier by discussing the relationship between public culture and social services. The specific content, activities, and services provided by public culture need to be adapted to the level of social development and supply capacity, and therefore are dynamically adjusted, up-to-date, and tailored to local conditions. Public culture involves a wide range of social undertakings, including ideology, culture, news and publishing, radio and television, as well as national fitness, popular science, and mass rule of law cultural activities. Social services belong to the basic public services provided by the government, which is the most prominent feature of public culture compared to other cultural types and forms, and also the theoretical basis for forming a policy system for public cultural services. Public culture and social services interact with each other, and to a certain extent, public culture determines the type of social services, which in turn affects the development of public culture.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Atmospheric : MAXWrapper The Atmospheric class lets you set up volumetric rendering effects with MAXScript. You can create atmospherics like fire and fog, access various properties on them and maintain their list of gizmo nodes such as lights and atmospheric helpers. The classes derived directly from the Atmospheric class are described in Atmospheric Effect Types. The properties, operators, and methods that are common to all classes derived directly from the Atmospheric class are described in Atmospheric Effects Common Properties, Operators, and Methods. The Atmospheric class is derived from the MAXWrapper class, and inherits the properties and methods defined for that class. These properties and methods are described in MAXWrapper Common Properties, Operators, and Methods. The topic Working with Atmospherics contains an example of adding Atmospheric Effects to the environment.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the massive adoption of microservices, operators and developers face far more complexity in their applications today. Service meshes can help you manage this problem by providing a unified control plane to secure, manage, and monitor your entire network. This practical guide shows you how the Linkerd service mesh enables cloud-native developers—including platform and site reliability engineers—to solve the thorny issue of running distributed applications in Kubernetes. Jason Morgan and Flynn draw on their years of experience at Buoyant—the creators of Linkerd—to demonstrate how this service mesh can help ensure that your applications are secure, observable, and reliable. You'll understand why Linkerd, the original service mesh, can still claim the lowest time to value of any mesh option available today. Learn how Linkerd works and which tasks it can help you accomplish Install and configure Linkerd in an imperative and declarative manner Secure interservice traffic and set up secure multicluster links Launch a zero trust authorization strategy in Kubernetes clusters Organize services in Linkerd to override error codes, set custom retries, and create timeouts Use Linkerd to manage progressive delivery and pair this service mesh with the ingress of your choice
