Permiten el diseño de soluciones centralizadas, eliminando los costes asociados a la necesidad de disponer de equipos independientes en cada sede. Esto también supone un ahorro en los costes de mantenimiento, gestión y administración de la infraestructura de red. La contrapartida es la dificultad que supone ofrecer una buena calidad de audio en voz IP. Existen mecanismos para mitigar esta dificultad. Class of Service (CoS) y Quality of Service (QoS), Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP), la definición de puertos prioritarios, o el uso de redes virtuales (VLANs), son mecanismos basados en la priorización del tráfico de voz que aportan soluciones a esta problemática. En el presente proyecto se aborda el diseño e implementación de un sistema de telefonía IP, que ofrecerá servicios de telefonía corporativa y de call center a un grupo de empresas del sector sanitario. En el desarrollo del proyecto se resuelven las fases de diseño, implementación y configuración del sistema, disponiendo, al final del mismo, de una solución de telefonía distribuida, completamente operativa y funcional Dicho equipamiento, cubre las necesidades planteadas por el cliente al inicio del proyecto en cuanto a dimensionamiento y funcionalidades, aportando además modularidad, disponibilidad y redundancia a su nueva infraestructura corporativa de telefonía.
