Book excerpt: A COMPANION BOOK TO "LEARN FROM THE MASTER"LEARN HOW TO SHARE YOUR FAITH WITH OTHERS!INFLUENCE THOUSANDS FOR CHRIST INVESTING JUST A FEW HOURS EACH WEEKUNDERSTAND THE REAL MEANING OF THE WORD, "DISCIPLE"ESTABLISH AN ONGOING MINISTRY IN YOUR CHURCH TO MAKE REAL DISCIPLESLEARN THE POWER OF MULTIPLICATION VERSES THE ILLUSION OF ADDITIONDISCOVER THE BIBLICAL METHOD OF PLANTING A CHURCHCATCH A VISION FOR REACHING THE WORLD FOR CHRISTGET INVOLVED IN SOMETHING THAT PROMISES LIFE'S GREATEST THRILLFIND FIVE SIMPLE STEPS THAT WILL HELP A NEW CHRISTIAN BEGIN TO GROWSEE GOD'S PRIMARY PURPOSE FOR EVERY CHRISTIAN'S LIFEFOUR COURSES: TWENTY-TWO SESSIONS TOTALCOURSE ONE: CASTING THE VISIONProverbs 29:18 reminds us that, "Where there is no vision the people perish." This first course is designed to help believers see that the great commission is not an impossible task. On the contrary, it can be fulfilled in just a few years. In these four sessions you will begin to understand that reaching the world for Christ can be accomplished in a single generation. After successfully completing this course, there should be an intense desire to complete the other three. COURSE TWO: AN APPROACH TO EVANGELISMIn this six session experience the student will learn the information one needs to understand in order to introduce someone to Christ and how to present the five initial discipleship steps, one on one, in order to help the new believer begin a walk with God. This is the 'how to' portion of evangelism training. Introducing people to Christ is not difficult; any believer can learn to do it! COURSE THREE: ATTITUDES MAKE A DIFFERENCEIn this study we look at the nine attitudes Jesus shared at the very beginning of His training in Matthew 5. These nine attitudes (Beatitudes) are the very first recorded lessons from the Savior when He gathered His disciples around Him, after He saw the multitudes He loved (Matthew 5:1). Attitudes are important because they set the atmosphere for successful communication. Through this course the student is constantly challenged to evaluate just how each attitude can enhance his/her effectiveness in sharing the good news of the Gospel. The focus in this course is holiness, the Christian life and obedience to Christ. COURSE FOUR: FROM CONVERT TO DISCIPLE The information in this course is vital to completing the "Great Commission." Too often when an individual accepts Christ as Savior we rejoice (which we should), put them in a place where they can learn to 'live the life' and consider them to be a 'disciple'. This course begins by defining the word 'disciple' to mean what Jesus meant for it to mean when He gave His instructions in Matthew 28:19-20. When we make a 'convert' we only add to the church. When we teach the convert to lead others to Christ and then to teach the 'others' to do the same we multiply and after completing courses one, two and three, the student will have a clear understanding of the difference!Upon completing the four courses the student should be ready to teach the material to others and is ready to introduce another to Christ, form a small group and with the help of the church, lead three or more new people into becoming true disciples, ready to reach others for the Lord, thus beginning the multiplication process!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although much has been written about P-12 teaching from a biblical perspective, this study focuses on Christ's relationships with a diverse group of individuals: wealthy and poor, women and men, unschooled and well-educated, loud and quiet, influential and powerless, those whom Jesus knew well and those who were strangers to him, those of his own faith and culture as well as those outside of it. These individuals are remarkably similar to the students we teach in our public and private school classrooms today. Each interaction between Jesus and an individual focuses on what we can learn from the student and Jesus as well as what we, as teachers, can apply in our profession. As in our own practice, some students learned their lessons well; others failed. For some, we are uncertain when or if they achieved Jesus' objective for them. Whether we are novices or experienced educators, we can learn through these instructive relationships how to be teachers who follow Jesus' example in seeing our students' potential, holistically caring for them, and ultimately having a positive impact on their lives. Through exploring these biblical relationships, we can gain a better understanding of how to teach like Christ's disciple.

Download or read book Discipleship Training Manual written by Bishop Shaolin Mb Abrams, Sr and published by . This book was released on 2020-05-28 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From one point of view, salvation is very simple. It can be summed up in Paul's words to the Philippian jailer: Acts 16:31; "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved." At the same time, salvation is profound; it has the most pervasive and permanent impact possible on the one who experiences it. We do not, of course, have to understand all aspects of salvation before we can receive it. We may understand very little when we first trust Christ. There are some things we will not understand until we see the LORD face to face. But studying GOD's Word and trying to understand more fully the truth of our salvation greatly enriches us spiritually. The way of salvation began with atonement of Christ on the cross. The word "atonement" means reconcile a difference or being together two who have been separated. When most people think of salvation, they consider it only in terms of redemption from sin or rescue from hell. However, a careful study of salvation from a Biblical perspective will reveal that it involves different stages:1.Regeneration2.Justification3.Sanctification4.GlorificationREGENRATION: The first stage of salvation is instantaneous and is also called "conversion." It occurs immediately upon receiving Christ as our Savior. Two elements are involved in regeneration. (Read Luke 13:3 & Acts 3:19). The word repent is a translation of the Greek word which mean "a change of mind, heart and attitude." It is a change of mind with respect to sin and brings a change in lifestyle. It's an inward experience which manifests itself in an outward change in one's behavior. In repentance, from hating or just ignoring GOD to loving Him and turning one's life completely over to Him. True repentance is always accompanied by the second element of regeneration: Faith. Faith, which is always involved in repentance, is more than intellectual belief, demons believe intellectually: James 2:19; "You believe that there is one GOD. You do well. Even the demons believe, and tremble!" In the New Testament, faith means a firm persuasion, a conviction based upon hearing. It is believing something to the extent that it changes your life. The kind of faith that accompanies salvation is not in a book, or a church, or a by-law; but in Jesus Christ: Acts 20:21; "Testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward GOD and faith toward our LORD Jesus Christ." Repentance must be toward the LORD Jesus Christ because He is the one who died for our sins. Remember; "Repentance is deliberate, willful, turning away from sin and following after GOD. True repentance always leads to a change in conduct or attitude."The purpose of GOD in salvation is to redeem man from his depraved state which is the result of sin. The first part of this purpose is accomplished in the instantaneous portion of salvation (regeneration).JUSTIFICATION: Justification has often been defined as meaning, "Just as if I'd never sinned." This aspect involves acquittal, but justification goes further by declaring a person to be righteous. When GOD justifies us, He does not merely forgive our sins, He sees us in Christ as having his perfect righteousness. Justification has to do with our standing before GOD and is objective. It does not make one personally righteous, but it declares him righteous in a legal sense, and brings him into right relationship with GOD. Paul stresses that we cannot be justified by the works of the Law, for "no one will be declared righteous in GOD's sight by observing the Law; rather, through the Law we become conscious of sin" Romans 3:20. Rather, we are "justified freely by GOD's grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:24).The fact that we have been justified becomes clear through the evidence of our changed lives, marked by obedience to GOD and desire to do His will.

Book excerpt: Christ commanded the church to make disciples, to produce people who love and obey God, bear fruit, and live with joy. Bill Hull shows pastors the obstacles they will face, what disciples really look like, the pastor's role in producing them, and the practices that lead to positive change. Book The One Step with Jesus Restoration Program

Download or read book The One Step with Jesus Restoration Program written by Robert Vann and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-01-27 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A STRICTLY BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE MINISTRIES has developed the WORD FOCUS FELLOWSHIP GROUP, as a Christian alternative to the world's recovery system, which addresses addiction by teaching individuals how to manage sin (addiction) through behavioral modification. Jesus Christ did not give His life on Calvary so a Christian could learn to manage sin but so that they could be set free from the penalty, power and eventually the presence of sin. God's plan for addressing addiction is far superior to man's plan because it not only restores a believer physically, socially and psychologically but it addresses the root cause of addiction, spiritual death. God's plan, salvation spiritually changes a person's nature and provides the potential for their soul to be restored (mind, will, and emotions) as well and addresses all of life's issues. A "WORD FOCUSED" FELLOWSHIP GROUP (Level 1) is a highly interactive, open-ended discipleship group based on 5 Biblical principles. To advance from one principle to the next the group process requires an individual to learn a memory verse and complete a designated exercise that must be shared within the group. It is a discipleship series that takes the "Body of Christ" back to biblical basics founded on the doctrines of salvation: repentance, rebirth, justification, and adoption, positional and progressive holiness (sanctification). Emphasis is placed on a believer understanding and accepting their "new identity" in Christ enabling them to "Walk in the Spirit." It is designed with a biblically strategic format with a five-fold in purpose. A STRICTLY BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE MINISTRIES has developed a Facilitator Guide for use in conjunction with the "WORD FOCUSED" FELLOWSHIP GROUP. The Facilitator Guide is designed to assist counselors, lay counselors and mentors in facilitating the groups to assist participant in taking an in depth and personal view of the different factors in salvation which will assist them in developing an accurate view of their new identity in Christ.
