Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Millimeter-Wave Integrated Circuits delivers a detailed overview of MMIC design, specifically focusing on designs for the millimeter-wave (mm-wave) frequency range. The scope of the book is broad, spanning detailed discussions of high-frequency materials and technologies, high-frequency devices, and the design of high-frequency circuits. The design material is supplemented as appropriate by theoretical analyses. The broad scope of the book gives the reader a good theoretical and practical understanding of mm-wave circuit design. It is best-suited for both undergraduate students who are reading or studying high frequency circuit design and postgraduate students who are specializing in the mm-wave field.

Book Microwave Mixer Technology and Applications

Download or read book Microwave Mixer Technology and Applications written by Bert Henderson and published by Artech House. This book was released on 2013-08-01 with total page 877 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although microwave mixers play a critical role in wireless communication and other microwave applications employing frequency conversion circuits, engineers find that most books on this subject emphasize theoretical aspects, rather than practical applications. That’s about to change with the forthcoming release of Microwave Mixer Technology and Applications. Based on a review of over one thousand patents on mixers and frequency conversion, authors Bert Henderson and Edmar Camargo have written a comprehensive book for mixer designers who want solid ideas for solving their own design challenges. Many of the important and most interesting patents and related circuits are discussed in the several application oriented chapters. In addition, important contributions from the technical literature are included to provide a solid theoretical foundation. This book contains both introductory and advanced material about active and passive mixers that use bipolar transistor, FET, or diode switching devices. Theory and design details are presented for dozens of important mixer designs, with practical application information derived from the authors’ decades of experience.

Book Design of PHEMT Diodes for MMIC Mixer Applications

Download or read book Design of PHEMT Diodes for MMIC Mixer Applications written by and published by . This book was released on 2000 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper presents a simple approach for optimizing the dimensions of PHEMT diodes as well as predicting their mixer performance up to millimeter wave frequencies. It also introduces a new diode model and compares its properties with previous conventional models. The simulation results are compared with experiments carried out with a single ended diode mixer at Ku-band.

Book Optimization of Millimeter Frequency Multipliers by Incorporation of Numerical Modelling Into Circuit Simulators

Download or read book Optimization of Millimeter Frequency Multipliers by Incorporation of Numerical Modelling Into Circuit Simulators written by and published by . This book was released on 1910 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An integrated design philosophy which combines physical device modelling and circuit simulation is applied for the design of Schottky-diode frequency multipliers for millimeter-wave applications. The physical model is based on the drift-diffudion theory. It also includes self-consistently image force lowering, tunnelling transport, current dependent recombination velocity at the Schottky contact and impact-ionization. This coupling enables to concurrently optimize the device electrical and geometrical parameters together with achievable output power, conversion efficiency and the required loads at the specific harmonics.

Book Terahertz Sensing Technology Vol 1 Electronic Devices And Advanced Systems Technology

Download or read book Terahertz Sensing Technology Vol 1 Electronic Devices And Advanced Systems Technology written by Michael S Shur and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2003-07-14 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The last research frontier in high frequency electronics now lies in the so-called THz (or submillimeter-wave) regime between the traditional microwave and infrared domains. Significant scientific and technical challenges within the terahertz (THz) frequency regime have recently motivated an array of new research activities. During the last few years, major research programs have emerged that are focused on advancing the state of the art in THz frequency electronic technology and on investigating novel applications of THz frequency sensing. This book serves as a detailed reference for the new THz frequency technological advances that are emerging across a wide spectrum of sensing and technology areas.

Book Study on Millimeter Wave Mixers

Download or read book Study on Millimeter Wave Mixers written by Ashok K. Gorwara and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For years waveguide-type mixers were the only ones available at frequencies above 18 GHz. However, more recently design techniques that were previously considered only suitable at microwave frequencies have been extended to millimeterwave frequencies. These developments can be separated into two groups. True balanced mixers in waveguide have been built using packaged diodes combined with coaxial IF circuits. These mixers differ from conventional balanced mixers in that they do not employ a separate hybrid such as a short-slot hybrid or a magic tee. Rather the diodes are arranged in a bridge circuit thus leading to a compact mixer with excellent LO-RF isolation. This type of mixer is capable of covering entire waveguide bands and high IF frequencies. The second development of importance is the emergence of mixers using integrated circuit techniques at millimeter-wave frequencies. These developments have shown that balanced and image reject mixers are feasible using microstrip on sapphire, quartz and Duroid up to and beyond 60 GHz.
