Book The Diffraction of Cylindrical Waves by Two Parallel Half Planes

Download or read book The Diffraction of Cylindrical Waves by Two Parallel Half Planes written by Raj Pal Soni and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The electromagnetic field produced by a line current oriented parallel to the edges of two perfectly conducting parallel half planes is considered. Maxwell's equations reduce to a single wave equation involving only one component of the electric field. Moreover the value of the field is zero on the two half planes. The problem is reduced to the determination of the current distributions on the two half planes. This leads to two integral equations of the Wiener-Hopf type. For the solution of these integral equations standard techniques are used.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electromagnetic Scattering is a collection of studies that aims to discuss methods, state of the art, applications, and future research in electromagnetic scattering. The book covers topics related to the subject, which includes low-frequency electromagnetic scattering; the uniform asymptomatic theory of electromagnetic edge diffraction; analyses of problems involving high frequency diffraction and imperfect half planes; and multiple scattering of waves by periodic and random distribution. Also covered in this book are topics such as theories of scattering from wire grid and mesh structures; the electromagnetic inverse problem; computational methods for transmission of waves; and developments in the use of complex singularities in the electromagnetic theory. Engineers and physicists who are interested in the study, developments, and applications of electromagnetic scattering will find the text informative and helpful.

Book Classical and Modern Diffraction Theory

Download or read book Classical and Modern Diffraction Theory written by Kamill Klem-Musatov and published by SEG Books. This book was released on 2016-06-30 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Providing geophysicists with an in-depth understanding of the theoretical and applied background for the seismic diffraction method, “Classical and Modern Diffraction Theory” covers the history and foundations of the classical theory and the key elements of the modern diffraction theory. Chapters include an overview and a historical review of classical theory, a summary of the experimental results illustrating this theory, and key principles of the modern theory of diffraction; the early cornerstones of classical diffraction theory, starting from its inception in the 17th century and an extensive introduction to reprinted works of Grimaldi, Huygens, and Young; details of the classical theory of diffractions as developed in the 19th century and reprinted works of Fresnel, Green, Helmholtz, Kirchhoff, and Rayleigh; and the cornerstones of the modern theory including Keller’s geometrical theory of diffraction, boundary-layer theory, and super-resolution. Appendices on the Cornu spiral and Babinet’s principle are also included.

Book Integral Transforms in Geophysics

Download or read book Integral Transforms in Geophysics written by Michael S. Zhdanov and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 382 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Integral Transforms of Geophysical Fields serve as one of the major tools for processing and interpreting geophysical data. In this book the authors present a unified treatment of this theory, ranging from the techniques of the transfor- mation of 2-D and 3-D potential fields to the theory of se- paration and migration of electromagnetic and seismic fields. Of interest primarily to scientists and post-gradu- ate students engaged in gravimetrics, but also useful to geophysicists and researchers in mathematical physics.
