Book Impact of digital transformation on business models in the automotive industry

Download or read book Impact of digital transformation on business models in the automotive industry written by Robin Mayer and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2023-06-12 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2023 in the subject Engineering - Automotive Engineering, grade: 1,5, University of Applied Sciences Aalen, language: English, abstract: Digital transformation and disruptive business models of new market players create unprecedented uncertainty in the automotive industry. One of the main reasons is the lack of understanding for the need of adapting business models to a changing business environment due to new technologies and shifting customer wants and needs. Even the automotive industry is not spared from digital Darwinism, according to which it is not the strongest or most intelligent of a species that survives, but rather the one that adapts best to change. What opportunities do OEMs have to transform their business models? How can best practices be used to generate new value creation, and what influence does the transformation of the business model have on the ecosystem? What role will the dealer play in the future, and how can he still deliver added value to the OEM? This paper provides an in-depth insight into the world of automotive sales, as well as a detailed analysis of the status quo. Best practices based on successful business model transformations of the top tier OEMs are the basis for a deeper understanding and serve other companies as foundation for developing digital business models. The goal of this paper is to examine the impact of digital transformation on the dealer business model and how they can continue to deliver value to the OEM. For this purpose, guided expert interviews are conducted with 16 experts from various areas of the automotive industry. Subsequently, a qualitative content analysis according to Mayring will be used to assess the challenges and impacts of the agent business model and to develop improvement measures and key topics that offer added value for OEMs. The results of this thesis support dealers in understanding their future role in the automotive industry and show design recommendations for a future-proof business model.

Book Conceptualizing and capturing digital transformation s customer value a logistics and supply chain management perspective

Download or read book Conceptualizing and capturing digital transformation s customer value a logistics and supply chain management perspective written by Junge, Anna Lisa and published by Universitätsverlag der TU Berlin. This book was released on 2020-12-22 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis aims to add knowledge that contributes to answering the question of how digital transformation technologies can contribute to increasing customer value in logistics and supply chain management (L&SCM), and how manufacturing companies can mindfully use them. The output of the thesis is an architectural framework that proposes performance components, approaches and methodologies that can help in capturing this customer value. To build the basis for such a framework, this research first deduces and presents the underlying definition of digital transformation and describes its potential for, as well as current barriers for its application in, L&SCM. The study uses a systematic literature review to identify nine underlying digital transformation technology bundles. These are: auto-identification technologies; information and communication technologies; the cloud; cyber physical systems; analytics; distributed ledger; automation technologies; augmented and virtual reality; and additive manufacturing. These technologies served as inputs for a nominal group technique workshop aiming to conceptualize the dimensions of customer value based on the technologies. The derived dimensions are information disclosure, time, product/production, service/assistance, quality, choice options, and planning. Based on these findings, this thesis presents an impact assessment for customer-based L&SCM performance. The three-plus-one customer value propositions are availability, servitization, co-creation, and cognition as enhancement. Expert interviews provide the data for the architectural framework for capturing customer value based on digital transformation technologies in L&SCM. The six dimensions covered are the customer value proposition; the value portfolio; scope of collaboration; human resource management and organization; performance management; as well as the (re-)adjusting value assessment. The main scientific contribution lies in conceptualizing the customer value for L&SCM based on digital transformation technologies whereas the architectural framework constitutes the main practical contributions.

Book AVENUE21 Connected and Automated Driving Prospects for Urban Europe

Download or read book AVENUE21 Connected and Automated Driving Prospects for Urban Europe written by Mathias Mitteregger and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-10-07 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This open access publication examines the impact of connected and automated vehicles on the European city and the conditions that can enable this technology to make a positive contribution to urban development. The authors argue for two theses that have thus far received little attention in scientific discourse: as connected and automated vehicles will not be ready for use in all parts of the city for a long time, previously assumed effects – from traffic safety to traffic performance as well as spatial effects – will need to be re-evaluated. To ensure this technology has a positive impact on the mobility of the future, transport and settlement policy regulations must be adapted and further developed. Established territorial, institutional and organizational boundaries must be investigated and challenged quickly. Despite – or, indeed, because of – the many uncertainties, we find ourselves at the beginning of a new design phase, not only in terms of technology development, but also regarding politics, urban planning, administration and civil society.

Book Shaping the Future of Your Business

Download or read book Shaping the Future of Your Business written by Heino Hilbig and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-02-02 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As an entrepreneur - and especially leading a medium-sized company - can you prepare for the future in a targeted manner? Which methods work and where do you succumb to classic thinking errors when planning for the future? This book shows how companies can develop viable future scenarios for their own market in order to remain successful and profitable in the future. Anyone who thought they were operating in a stable market and were prepared for crises was proven wrong by the Corona pandemic. But even less dramatic influences such as technological disruption, side attacks by competitors from outside the industry or end-of-life scenarios are massively changing the environment of companies and demand - at the latest now! - a rethink. In this completely revised 2nd edition, the author shows why early planning for the future can be decisive for success, why one should not rely on experience and intuition, and which mistakes should be avoided. In addition, he explains which tools can be used and put together to form a well-founded process with which future, but also crisis, management can be creatively planned.A useful guide for managing directors, executives, marketing managers and planners in medium-sized companies - with helpful tips, illustrative examples and an individually adaptable template for a future workshop. This book is a translation of the original German 2nd edition Zukunftsmanagement für den Mittelstand by Heino Hilbig, published by Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH, part of Springer Nature in 2020. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence (machine translation by the service DeepL.com).
