Des Öfteren werden hierbei die sogenannten „Transfereffekte“ der Musik in Forschungsarbeiten und den Medien herausgestellt. Studien versuchen in diesem Zusammenhang nachzuweisen, dass verstärkte musikalische Angebote sich beispielsweise positiv auf die unterschiedlichen Entwicklungsbereiche von Kindern und Jugendlichen auswirken (vgl. z.B. Bastian, 2003 oder Rauscher et al., 1993). Aufgrund dieser nach wie vor aktuellen öffentlichen Diskussion beschäftigt sich die vorliegende Arbeit mit der Bedeutung von Musik für Kinder in ihrer Entwicklung und in ihrem lebensweltlichen Kontext. Die Themenstellung ist bewusst auf die Bedeutung von Musik für Grundschulkinder im Alter von ca. 6- 12 Jahren begrenzt, da keine Alterseingrenzung den Rahmen dieser Arbeit erheblich sprengen würde. Zunächst wird erläutert, was unter Musik zu verstehen ist und welche Rolle diese im Alltag von Kindern spielt. Anschließend werden die Verarbeitung von Musik im Gehirn und die Einflüsse von Musik auf das Gehirn näher betrachtet. Schwerpunkt der vorliegenden Arbeit bildet die Betrachtung und Auseinandersetzung mit der Wirkung von Musik auf die kindlichen Entwicklungsbereiche. Mit Hilfe grundlegender Literaturrecherche und der Auseinandersetzung mit wissenschaftlichen und empirischen Studien, wie z.B. der Bastianstudie (2000), wird eine kritische Auseinandersetzung und Diskussion darüber erfolgen, wie sich Musik im Speziellen auf die kindlichen Entwicklungsbereiche und die kindliche Bildung auswirken kann. Ziel hierbei ist es herauszuarbeiten, welche wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse über die Wirkung von Musik auf die kindliche Entwicklung bereits existieren, und anhand dieser zu beleuchten, ob Musik in bestimmten Lebensbereichen von Kindern tatsächlich unterstützend und begleitend wirken kann. Hierbei soll der Kontext berücksichtigt werden, von dem die Wirkung der Musik abhängig sein kann. Demzufolge schließt sich die Betrachtung des lebensweltlichen Kontextes von Kindern an die vorherigen Kapitel an. Diese Betrachtung wird vor allem anhand der MediKuS- Studie erfolgen (vgl. Grigc / Züchner, 2013). Nachfolgend wird der Zusammenhang von Musik und Bildung dargelegt. Dabei wird geklärt, ob musikalische Aktivitäten Bildungsprozesse enthalten.
