Book Is Johann Sebastian Bach a great composer

Download or read book Is Johann Sebastian Bach a great composer written by Claude Fernandez and published by fernandez claude. This book was released on 2014-01-01 with total page 45 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: General synthesis essay trying to consider, as an example, the causes of the notoriety of Johann Sebastian Bach, particularly in comparison whit his contemporary Vivaldi. Is the notoriety of the greats composers due to the real musical interest of their masterpieces for the people or to the result of a complex alchemy in which ideology mainly intervenes ? The name of Bach seems particularly to illustrate the influence of extra-musicals factors in the recognition of genius, real or supposed. The comparison with his contemporary Vivaldi allow to show the importance of such factors.

This book was released on 2014-09-09 with total page 422 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume IV of America's Indomitable Character contains information on: A synopsis of Volume III. Philosophical and intellectual streams of thought as they came from Old Europe and connected with the intellectual developments of the New America. Transcendentalism and Dark Romanticism. A presentation regarding Nature, human nature, society, the social contract in the following authors: Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Nathaniel Hawthorne, (Sarah) Margaret Fuller Ossoli, Theodore Parker, Herman Melville, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson. How the development of a national literature contributed to the development of an American character identity. Identities and affinities between the American authors and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. The Reiseweg of Rousseau's spirit to America. A conclusive summary of all four volumes. How the Democrat Party after the Civil War and up to Barack Hussein Obama has been exceedingly active in making sure that the values expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for the United States of America were not applied to all Americans - from the Democrat Party affiliated Ku Klux Klan, through the communist takeover of the Democrat Party, to the defeat of racism in the second half of the twentieth century and the re-emergence of racism with the racist class division polemics of Barack Hussein Obama in the twenty-first century. How the Democrat Party has dumbed-down American citizens. How Barack Hussein Obama, the putative president of the United States of America, has hollowed out the substance and laws that were once the backbone of America's character identity; from symbolical insults, through the expansion of social programs and the weakening of national defense, to the destruction of America's religious identity and the erosion of the middle class. This is Barack Hussein Obama's active destruction of American character identity.

Download or read book Sounding Human written by Deirdre Loughridge and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2023-12-15 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An expansive analysis of the relationship between human and machine in music. From the mid-eighteenth century on, there was a logic at work in musical discourse and practice: human or machine. That discourse defined a boundary of absolute difference between human and machine, with a recurrent practice of parsing “human” musicality from its “merely mechanical” simulations. In Sounding Human, Deirdre Loughridge tests and traverses these boundaries, unmaking the “human or machine” logic and seeking out others, better characterized by conjunctions such as and or with. Sounding Human enters the debate on posthumanism and human-machine relationships in music, exploring how categories of human and machine have been continually renegotiated over the centuries. Loughridge expertly traces this debate from the 1737 invention of what became the first musical android to the creation of a “sound wave instrument” by a British electronic music composer in the 1960s, and the chopped and pitched vocals produced by sampling singers’ voices in modern pop music. From music-generating computer programs to older musical instruments and music notation, Sounding Human shows how machines have always actively shaped the act of music composition. In doing so, Loughridge reveals how musical artifacts have been—or can be—used to help explain and contest what it is to be human.

Book From Music to Sound

    Book Details:
  • Author : Makis Solomos
  • Publisher : Routledge
  • Release : 2019-10-28
  • ISBN : 0429575017
  • Pages : 235 pages

Download or read book From Music to Sound written by Makis Solomos and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-10-28 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From Music to Sound is an examination of the six musical histories whose convergence produces the emergence of sound, offering a plural, original history of new music and showing how music had begun a change of paradigm, moving from a culture centred on the note to a culture of sound. Each chapter follows a chronological progression and is illustrated with numerous musical examples. The chapters are composed of six parallel histories: timbre, which became a central category for musical composition; noise and the exploration of its musical potential; listening, the awareness of which opens to the generality of sound; deeper and deeper immersion in sound; the substitution of composing the sound for composing with sounds; and space, which is progressively viewed as composable. The book proposes a global overview, one of the first of its kind, since its ambition is to systematically delimit the emergence of sound. Both well-known and lesser-known works and composers are analysed in detail; from Debussy to contemporary music in the early twenty-first century; from rock to electronica; from the sound objects of the earliest musique concrète to current electroacoustic music; from the Poème électronique of Le Corbusier-Varèse-Xenakis to the most recent inter-arts attempts. Covering theory, analysis and aesthetics, From Music to Sound will be of great interest to scholars, professionals and students of Music, Musicology, Sound Studies and Sonic Arts. Supporting musical examples can be accessed via the online Routledge Music Research Portal.
