Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Sixth Edition of a classic in organic chemistry continues its tradition of excellence Now in its sixth edition, March's Advanced Organic Chemistry remains the gold standard in organic chemistry. Throughout its six editions, students and chemists from around the world have relied on it as an essential resource for planning and executing synthetic reactions. The Sixth Edition brings the text completely current with the most recent organic reactions. In addition, the references have been updated to enable readers to find the latest primary and review literature with ease. New features include: More than 25,000 references to the literature to facilitate further research Revised mechanisms, where required, that explain concepts in clear modern terms Revisions and updates to each chapter to bring them all fully up to date with the latest reactions and discoveries A revised Appendix B to facilitate correlating chapter sections with synthetic transformations

Book Boranes in Organic Chemistry

Download or read book Boranes in Organic Chemistry written by Herbert C. Brown and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2019-06-30 with total page 488 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The leading researcher in the uses of boranes in organic synthesis here reviews his work over the past thirty-five years, covering such areas as steric strains, the nonclassical ion problem, selective reductions, hydroboration, and the organoboranes as synthetic intermediates. But more than an exposition of enormous accomplishment, the book is a scientific autobiography that will provide chemists with historical perspective on their profession. The author's detailed narrative of his own research experiences not only adds to the understanding of the present state of the study of boranes, but will serve as a stimulus to imaginative research in the future.

Download or read book Orbital Symmetry written by Roland E. Lehr and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-09-03 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Orbital Symmetry: A Problem-Solving Approach was born of the necessity to present to students Woodward and Hoffmann's approach to pericyclic reactions. Hence the tone is introductory, and the book is addressed primarily to an audience of advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students. The text seeks to familiarize the readers with several of the more often encountered methods of analyzing pericyclic reactions, and these methods should enable the analysis of virtually all of them. Problem solving is the foundation of the approach. Both the introductory and theory sections include problems to prepare the reader for the more extensive chapters of problems that follow. All problems (except those in Chapter VII) are answered in the text and are fully referenced where appropriate. Many of the problems require the use of molecular models if they are to be appreciated. Prentice-Hall's ""Framework Molecular Models"" and Benjamin's ""Maruzen Models"" are best suited for the construction of the highly strained molecules often encountered in the problems, and their use is recommended.
