Book The Incest Diary

Download or read book The Incest Diary written by Anonymous and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-11 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Throughout her childhood and adolescence, the anonymous author of The Incest Diary was raped by her father. Beneath a veneer of normal family life, she grew up in and around this all-encompassing secret. Her sexual relationship with her father lasted, off and on, into her twenties. It formed her world, and it formed her deepest fears and desires. Even after she broke away, even as she grew into an independent and adventurous young woman, she continued to seek out new versions of the violence, submission and secrecy she had struggled to leave behind. In this graphic and harrowing memoir, the author revisits her early traumas and their aftermath - not from a clinical distance, but from deep within - to explore the ways in which her father's abuse shaped her, and still does. As a matter of psychic survival, she became both a sexual object and a detached observer, a dutiful daughter and the protector of a dirty secret. And then, years later, she made herself write it down. With lyric concision, in vignettes of almost unbearable intensity, this writer tells a story that is shocking but that will ring true to many other survivors of abuse. It has never been faced so directly on the page.

Say there was a novel in which Holden Caulfield was an alcoholic and Lolita was a photographer’s assistant and, somehow, they met in Bright Lights, Big City. He’s blinded by love. She by ambition. Diary of an Oxygen Thief is an honest, hilarious, and heartrending novel, but above all, a very realistic account of what we do to each other and what we allow to have done to us.

Book Pain Through a Child s Eyes

Download or read book Pain Through a Child s Eyes written by Joyce Turner and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-02-07 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is based on a true story of the life of a child who became the victim of cruel circumstances that led to years of rejection, pain, heartache and abuse. Her blue eyes saw more in her young life, than most see in a lifetime. She felt she would always be a product of her past and could never see any way to a brighter future. Shame and disgrace had taken a toll in her young life, heart and soul. She had lost all hope from the pain and struggles at such a tender young age that she contemplated suicide on many occasions. Her life seemed to be spiraling down a slippery slope of no return. Each day she stared in a mirror at a pale reflection of emptiness that gave her no reason to live or have hope for a brighter tomorrow. Her heart wrenching home situation of abuse, lack of love, insecurity and turmoil drove her into a deep anger that almost destroyed her life. Her world was shaken and turned upside down and she felt there was no one she could turn to for help or advice. Yet, something deep inside continually nudged her along the way to continue her fight for survival. It took an extreme amount of energy to push the mess of life and the tears of rejection and abuse out of sight in order to maintain her sanity. The longing in Joyces tender heart for a better tomorrow was a driving force that would keep her from abandoning all hope. Pain Through A Childs Eyes, is a story that will touch the very core of your heart and bring tears to your eyes, as you feel in your own heart the pain her blue eyes and heart encountered.

Book Dear Diary

  • Author : Dee Termhynd - Surviva
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2017-11-18
  • ISBN : 9781973221753
  • Pages : 57 pages

Download or read book Dear Diary written by Dee Termhynd - Surviva and published by . This book was released on 2017-11-18 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dee originally started this diary as a means to heal, re-story and give her inner children a voice. The events and episodes of abuse described in this book are actual real life events that occurred. They have been re-told by Dee's inner children at their various ages (4-7 years old) with a bit of humour and power in order to give them a voice and aide healing from such trauma. Dee then read these diary entries out loud to her friend Misty (who is also a trained counsellor like Dee is). By writing as though she was a four to seven year old herself, Dee was then able to verbally speak of such trauma for the first time by reading these entries out loud . Dee believes that counsellor's and psychologists should suggest diary writing from the inner child's perspective to all their clients when doing trauma work as it is very healing. These diary entries also serve to show the effect that child abuse in all forms (verbal, sexual, psychological etc) and neglect have on the child when they grow up. These effects carry on through to adult hood. The entries within this diary also serve to point out the dynamics of child sexual abuse - such as the grooming process (using gifts to lure a child) as well as silencing the child so they will not speak up about the abuse occurring to them. Signs to look out for that can point towards child sexual abouse were also covered - such as the hiding of blood stained underwear.Dee's inner children have also included some poetry of the traumatic events experienced which also uncover some of the hidden dynamics and effects of childhood sexual abuse and trauma.

Download or read book What Happened to Kevin written by Shannon Bowen and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-03-12 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a true story of child abuse and neglect. It's not a novel. It's an actual diary, kept day-by-day, documenting what neighbors witnessed, and a mother who was out of control. What would you do if you heard child abuse in the apartment next door, night after night? What if the police and state agencies couldn't protect a three-year-old from his sick and twisted mother, and the father who claimed he slept through it all? This real-life diary tells the true story of Kevin. It's one of the worst true child abuse stories, told by Kevin's next-door neighbor. In this book, you'll read what happened, day by day, as the legal system failed this little boy. Don't expect a "happily ever after" novel. In this book, you'll read an actual diary as it was written during more than a year of child neglect and abuse. As the tragedy unfolded, it took its toll on everyone involved... including those who knew what was going on and couldn't stop it. It's a harsh plea for increased child abuse awareness. "What Happened to Kevin" contains the full text of two true child abuse stories -- "Momma, Don't Hit Me!" and "Momma, Stop! I'll Be Good!" -- published separately. This book tells what happened to a little boy named Kevin, between November 2011 and May 2013. (Previously published as "Kevin's Story.")
