Book Diary of a Caregiver s Hell

Download or read book Diary of a Caregiver s Hell written by Just Joyce and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2020-04-17 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Diary of a Caregiver's Hell By: Just Joyce At the age of 3-1/2, Joyce became a foster child to Ethel and Blair Breitigam. They raised her on their Pennsylvania farm to adulthood. Little did Ethel and Blair know how their decision would not only change the rest of Joyce’s life, but have an impact on who would be there for them at the closing time of their lives. Ethel and Blair experienced 17+ years of progression through debilitating illnesses, frailty of body, becoming invalids, along with both of them having Alzheimer’s. Although these years seem to have been taken from Joyce, it has also been a selfless giving by Joyce to this man and woman she came to call Mom and Dad. With her real-world, down-to-earth, tell-it-like-it-is attitude, just maybe Joyce can help one or two caregivers out there who are finding their situation hard to deal with.

Book Diary of a Caregiver

Download or read book Diary of a Caregiver written by Rex T. Young and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-02-28 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 2009, my wife of over fifty-eight years was diagnosed with dementia with Alzheimers symptoms. My caregiving responsibilities began before that time and continued until her death in January 2018. She was provided care in her own home. As time went by, the caregiver duties became more and more demanding. It was truly twenty-four hours each day and seven days each week. My sweetheart was referred to the hospice program as a patient beginning in 2013 with a life expectancy of six months or less. At the time of her passing, she had been a hospice patient for four years, eleven months, and five days. The Diary of a Caregiver begins with her entry into the hospice program and continues until her death. Caregiving can be very frustrating at times as one never knows what to expect or when to expect it. The Diary of a Caregiver identifies many of the problems and frustrations associated with care of a dementia patient. It also identifies different techniques and solutions to some of those problems. It should be of interest to anyone who is involved in caregiving, especially those who are just beginning.

Book The Perfect Servant Nope

Download or read book The Perfect Servant Nope written by E. P. Rose and published by . This book was released on 2018-04-15 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lacking the courage to vent my anger and frustration by hurling plates at a wall, I decided instead to write a weekly blog and save my china. Now, 75 weeks later since that first angry outpouring, it's clear the tone of my writing has changed...become calmer. Can it be I'm more contended now that I've better accepted my caregiving role?Trapped in a confusing maze of emotional and physical challenges, caregiving, like my husband's Parkinson's Disease, is a retirement neither of us planned. Hell, though it is, the intention of exposing our personal journey to the public eye is to show other desperate caregivers and their partners we perhaps all of us share many same struggles. David is surviving. I am too, somehow without losing my sanity. And best of all David still loves me and I love him.

It is a story of struggle, faith, laughter, sadness, joy, and above all, much love. Craig was a bright, energetic, very athletic individual who had always taken perfect care of his body. He ran 10-15 miles per day, ran a small retail specialty store by himself, and took care of his wife recovering from cancer and kidney failure. It was because of all the things he did that no one paid too much attention when he did something out of the ordinary; he had so much stress in his life. It wasn't until his wife, Judy, got well and studied that she knew. And, life With BIG AL began...

Download or read book When Caregivers Kill written by Betty L. Alt and published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers. This book was released on 2010-04-16 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Each year in the U.S. hundreds of children under the age of ten are killed by parents, relatives, or other caregivers. In recent years, families have become less dependent on kinship and neighborhood relationships, so they may become nearly invisible to those who might otherwise be involved in their activities. Because of this isolation, danger to children often does not become visible to the public until the child is injured or, worse, dead. This book offers an overview of the various caregivers involved in child homicide. It covers murders committed by mothers, fathers, babysitters, and others and examines the common circumstances that lead to such violence. Using cases throughout, the authors reveal the extent and nature of child homicide in chilling detail. Readers will come away from the book with a greater understanding of the problem_the triggers that lead to child homicide, the motives and means, what killers have in common, and how to prevent and address child homicide.
