Book Islamic Thought in the Dialogue of Cultures

Download or read book Islamic Thought in the Dialogue of Cultures written by Hans Daiber and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2015-08-28 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Islamic thought is the most beautiful result of a multicultural dialogue. Islamic culture became a bridge between antiquity, Iranian scholars, Syriac and Arabic Christians and the Latin Middle Ages. Its richness of ideas, its plurality of values can contribute to the requirements of modern plurality. The monograph aims at a historical and bibliographical survey of the qurʾānic and rational world-view of early Islam, of the period of translations from Greek into Syriac and Arabic, and of the impact of Islamic thought on the Latin Middle Ages. Critical reflexions of Muslim scholars stimulated new scientific ideas and make us aware of the contribution of Islam to humanity.

Book Translatology Translation and Interpretation Toward a New Scientific Endeavor

Download or read book Translatology Translation and Interpretation Toward a New Scientific Endeavor written by Noury Bakrim and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2024-02-07 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together scholarly contributions to question, model, and reshape translatology as the scientific discipline studying language translation. The chapters emphasize the hypothesis of a real domain of observability and objectivity through experimental and applied perspectives. The authors offer a balanced view of adequacy and coherence between the empirical and theoretical components of the book. The chapters include a good deal of individual language data from both source and target approaches, with a focus on typologically and culturally diverse spaces such as the African context. Domains of inquiry such as terminology and the cognitive dimension of the process exemplify the ability to create a dialogue between multidisciplinary intersections and translatological attempts of laws and generalizations.

L'ETUDE TENTE DE DEMONTRER QUE LA TRADUCTION DU THEATRE, RAMENE A SES PROPRIETES FONDAMENTALES DE L'ENONCIATION, NE DIFFERE GUERE DE LA TRADUCTION DU TEXTE DIT PRAGMATIQUE, ETANT DONNE QUE LE PROCESSUS TRADUCTIF REPOSE DANS LES DEUX CAS SUR LES MEMES OPERATIONS COGNITIVES ET INTERPRETATIVES. MALGRE L'UNIVERSALITE DES MECANISMES MIS EN OEUVRE PAR LE TRADUCTEUR, LE TEXTE LITTERAIRE PRESENTE, TOUTEFOIS, DES SPECIFICITES STYLISTIQUES, VOIRE FONCTIONNELLES SUSCEPTIBLES D'INFLUER SUR SA TRADUCTION. LES CONCLUSIONS OBTENUES DE L'ANALYSE DU CORPUS PERMET DE CONSTATER, EN EFFET, QUE HORMIS LES PROBLEMES LINGUISTIQUES ET CULTURELS, LA SPECIFICITE DE TRADUIRE LE TEXTE THEATRAL PROCEDE ESSENTIELLEMENT DE LA SPECIFICITE MEME DU DISCOURS DRAMATIQUE, PARADOXALEMENT SITUE ENTRE L'ECRITURE ET L'ORALITE. PUISQU'UNE PIECE DE THEATRE N'A PAS UNIQUEMENT POUR OBJET LA TRANSMISSION DE MESSAGES, MAIS AUSSI LA CREATION D'UN IMPACT THEATRAL SUR SON AUDITOIRE, SA TRADUCTION VISE, NECESSAIREMENT, LA PRODUCTION D'UN TEXTE EQUIVALENT, TANT AU NIVEAU DU MESSAGE QU'A CELUI DE LA THEATRALITE DU TEXTE. L'ANALYSE DU DISCOURS DRAMATIQUE, SELON LES PARAMETRES USUELS DE L'ENONCIATION, DEMONTRE D'EMBLEE QUE LE SENS N'EST PAS UNE DONNEE FIXE OU STATIQUE MAIS UNE CONSTRUCTION DYNAMIQUE ET INTERACTIVE A LA FOIS, DE MEME QUE L'EXAMEN DU PERIPLE DU SENS CONSTRUIT ET ENSUITE COMPRIS PAR DES INTERLOCUTEURS VEUT QUE LA TRADUCTION SOIT, ELLE-MEME, UNE OPERATION COGNITIVE DONT LA DEMARCHE RESTE FONDAMENTALEMENT INTERPRETATIVE. POUR EN ILLUSTRER LA DEMARCHE, LA THESE PROPOSE UN SCHEMA EXEMPLAIRE, PRESENTE SOUS FORME D'UN LOSANGE DONT L'ORIGINALITE CONSISTE A (RE)INTRODUIRE DANS LE PROCESSUS, TRADUISANT LE TROISIEME PARAMETRE RAREMENT PRIS EN COMPTE PAR LES THEORIES PUREMENT LINGUISTIQUES DE LA TRADUCTION: LE DESTINATAIRE DU MESSAGE TRADUIT.

Book Essai d interpr tation du vivre ensemble

Download or read book Essai d interpr tation du vivre ensemble written by Gianna Pallante and published by Editions L'Harmattan. This book was released on 2015-01-15 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Dialogue Interpreting

Download or read book Dialogue Interpreting written by Ian Mason and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-04-23 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dialogue interpreting includes what is variously referred to in English as Community, Public Service, Liaison, Ad Hoc or Bilateral Interpreting - the defining characteristic being interpreter-mediated communication in spontaneous face-to-face interaction. Included under this heading are all kinds of professional encounters: police, immigration and welfare services interviews, doctor-patient interviews, business negotiations, political interviews, lawyer-client and courtroom interpreting and so on. Whereas research into conference interpreting is now well established, the investigation of dialogue interpreting as a professional activity is still in its infancy, despite some highly promising publications in recent years. This special issue of The Translator, guest-edited by one of the leading scholars in translation studies, provides a forum for bringing together separate strands within this developing field and should create an impetus for further research. Viewing the interpreter as a gatekeeper, coordinator and negotiator of meanings within a three-way interaction, the descriptive studies included in this volume focus on issues such as role-conflict, in-group loyalties, participation status, relevance and the negotiation of face, thus linking the observation of interpreting practice to pragmatic constraints such as power, distance and face-threat and to semiotic constraints such as genres and discourses as socio-textual practices of particular cultural communities.

Download or read book Bridging Cultures written by Ciara Hogan and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2012-11-01 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the rapidly developing globalization of various sectors of modern life, individuals, organizations, and nations are becoming increasingly aware of the ways in which cultural diversity may not only be a potential cause of conflict but also a source of growth, creativity, and inspiration. If, traditionally, intercultural mediation has been understood as a conflict-solving strategy or as a means to facilitate communication between individuals from different cultural backgrounds, Bridging Culture aims at providing a framework and a set of theoretical reflections towards a larger vision of the field, presenting mediation as a particular form of critical intervention within the different domains of the humanities. The contributions in the present volume take intercultural mediation to be a multifaceted, interdisciplinary phenomenon, impacting upon the fields of linguistics and literature as well as translation and cultural studies, where themes such as interculturality, multilingualism, and cultural transfer are continual and urgent features of contemporary discourse and debate.

Book Culture persane et m decine ayurv dique en Asie du Sud

Download or read book Culture persane et m decine ayurv dique en Asie du Sud written by Fabrizio Speziale and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2018-02-27 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book looks at the interactions between Ayurveda and Persian medical culture in South Asia. It presents, for the first time, a study of the translation movement of Ayurvedic sources into Persian, which took place from the 14th century onwards. The image of Ayurvedic culture emerging from Persian texts provides a new insight into the history of Ayurveda under Muslim political hegemony in South Asia. Persian treatises apply new categories to the analysis of translated materials and transform the way Ayurvedic knowledge is presented. At the same time, Fabrizio Speziale's book deals with the symmetric phenomenon of Persanization of the Hindu physicians who, through the learning of Persian language, appropriated medical knowledge of Muslim culture.
