Book Diagnosis in Otorhinolaryngology

Download or read book Diagnosis in Otorhinolaryngology written by T. Metin Önerci and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-09-29 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In preparing the material for this book, I took the advice of my students who generously shared their views and opinions with me. I was told that it would be preferable to have images of the various diseases with legends describing the disease. Students would be able to learn and retain the inf- mation more successfully if the material was accompanied by pictures and schematic drawings. Recent advances in technology have made it possible to photograph regions that are difcult to view with the naked eye, such as the ear, nose, throat, nasopharynx, and larynx – all the areas of otorhinolaryngology. Such an illustrated text in this feld is important and necessary for teaching purposes. In this book I tried to compile images of the basic conditions that are commonly seen in general practice and to give the reader a visual survey with a brief description of the condition. I added tables and schematic drawings in order to provide practical information. It is not the purpose of this book to be a comprehensive textbook, since many textbooks are already available with more detailed information of the conditions illustrated here. This book is primarily intended for medical students, family and general practitioners, and ENT trainees. It may also serve as basic reading material for those in allied specialties. I hope my colleagues fnd this book useful and it contributes toward their teaching purposes.

  • Publisher : Plural Publishing
  • Release : 2006-08
  • ISBN : 1597568376
  • Pages : 529 pages

Download or read book Textbook of Laryngology written by Albert L. Merati and published by Plural Publishing. This book was released on 2006-08 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although many books focus on one or another aspect of laryngology, such as voice, swallowing, or airway problems, few cover the breadth of the discipline from a teaching standpoint. The editors sought collaboration from a broad range of international contributors in this text, which avoids the cover-all reference nature of extant texts, by having each contributor write in direct, consumable units for the reader, thus providing an ideal resource for both teaching and learning. Covers every aspect of laryngology without bias on one particular aspect. Designed specifically to meet student needs rather than trying to unsuccessfully serve multiple audiences.

Book Evidence Based Laryngology

Download or read book Evidence Based Laryngology written by David E. Rosow and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-02-19 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text provides a critical look at the state of the evidence in the most compelling areas of laryngology. Rather than being a comprehensive text covering every single possible area, it focuses on published works in the 9 areas that are of the most interest to laryngologists as well as speech pathologists, general otolaryngologists, and head and neck oncologists managing laryngologic issues. The state of the literature is succinctly summarized and tabulated in each area, allowing the reader to see which areas have high-grade evidence (Levels 1 or 2) to support decision making, and which areas are in need of better quality studies. Each chapter is divided into three main sections: Diagnosis and Pathophysiology, Surgical management, and Non-surgical management. This makes it easier for the reader to browse to the area of interest in each section and to find the evidence basis for a given concept. Evidence-Based Laryngology will be an invaluable resource to otolaryngologists, residents, speech-language pathologists, and other clinicians who manage laryngological problems and would like to know the evidence basis behind different treatment options.
