Book excerpt: Devils Ultimate Claim is a gripping tale about good and evil, seen from a new perspective, making the reader think on a new platform. It’s filled with clues to attain divinity, several amusing, unheard and serious historical characters uniquely adjusted with the unnoticed story of real-world in a set beyond anyone’s wildest imaginations. After getting enlightened in deep meditation, the author of this book realized that his extraordinary experience of attaining divinity explained him to understand the entirety of creation, which can be mathematically described by reversing Einstein’s theory of E=mc2. By doing so, it achieves the same climax of an ‘ultimate zero,’ which is known as the door to divinity. This excitement had some flows too. It was hard to let the scientific community notice his rarest findings. They seldom relating their findings with such an intuitive finding and scarcely promoting further research in such a contentious subject. So, the author caught a different route to bring his findings in the public domain, ~write the truth as a fiction story or making a feature film on such a touchy topic, to step up toward spreading public awareness on divinity. Only because the writer was publicly claiming to have discovered the scientific method of attaining divinity, guaranteeing secure salvation to all, the devil gets attracted and virtually hacks him in the Pentagon for liberating himself from his consequential hell-trap of WW2. While luring and forcing him to reveal this method of free salvation, ghost revealed several unknown facts about this world and beyond but in the end, on failing to know anything out from the determined author, he brutally killed him. Since it was a virtual dream, so the author awakes home with an enhanced vision and power to access and express the entire incident like a divine wish, which he dreamt of the ghost, so that this ultimate method of glimpsing divinity can come in the public domain. The Ghost of Hitler, the Pentagon, his death experience is all fictitious but the revealing on divinity, which the writer overwhelmingly claimed, is “TRUE” and, which is elaborated in such a most significant unmatching sarcasm of the modern time. What was that secret revealing which is the reverse order of Albert Einstein’s theory of E=mc2, and which paves a new field of research for its further mathematical explanation, which one can testify by glimpsing divinity in his/her lifetime? The writer has indicated its method moderately in the book, but reserved its full secret for the researchers and the Movie producers, to predominantly targeting this high-profile topic.

Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • In J. R. Ward’s thrilling finale to her Bourbon Kings series, the Bradford family dynasty teeters on the edge of collapse after the murder of their patriarch—and a shocking arrest. At first, the death of William Baldwine, the head of the Bradford family, was ruled a suicide. But then his eldest son and sworn enemy, Edward, came forward and confessed to what was, in fact, a murder. Now in police custody, Edward mourns not the disintegration of his family or his loss of freedom . . . but the woman he left behind. His love, Sutton Smythe, is the only person he has ever truly cared about, but as she is the CEO of the Bradford Bourbon Company’s biggest competitor, any relationship between them is impossible. And then there’s the reality of the jail time that Edward is facing. Lane Baldwine was supposed to remain in his role of playboy, forever in his big brother Edward’s shadow. Instead he has become the new head of the family and the company. Convinced that Edward is covering for someone else, Lane and his true love, Lizzie King, go on the trail of a killer—only to discover a secret that is as devastating as it is game-changing. As Lane rushes to discover the truth, and Sutton finds herself irresistibly drawn to Edward in spite of his circumstances, the lives of everyone at Easterly will never be the same again. For some, this is good; for others, it could be a tragedy beyond imagining. Only one thing is for certain: Love survives all things. Even murder. Praise for J. R. Ward’s Bourbon Kings series “A most sinful indulgence . . . The gorgeous Kentucky backdrop will sweep you away.”—Susan Wiggs “Breathless fun!”—Lisa Gardner

Book Folk Devils and Moral Panics in the COVID 19 Pandemic

Download or read book Folk Devils and Moral Panics in the COVID 19 Pandemic written by Morena Tartari and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-07-05 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Folk Devils and Moral Panics in the COVID-19 Pandemic analyses the phenomena of moral panics surrounding so-called folk devils in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this volume, internationally recognised moral panic scholars from disciplines including sociology, media studies, criminology, and cultural studies examine case studies of moral panics related to the COVID-19 pandemic. These analyses consider the different social, political, economic, organisational, and cultural contexts within which such moral panics emerged and assess how the concept of moral panic can be deployed to offer novel insights into sociocultural responses to the outbreak. By utilising both classical approaches to moral panic analysis and more recent trends, chapters discuss the utility of the concept of moral panic that is, for the first time, applied to a global-scale event like the COVID-19 pandemic. This volume will be of interest to students and scholars in the social sciences with an interest in moral panics, responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the media and popular culture.

Download or read book Natural Coincidence written by Bil Gilbert and published by University of Michigan Press. This book was released on 2010-02-24 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bil Gilbert is one of America's most preeminent and popular essayists and nature writers. If you've ever opened a copy of Smithsonian, Audubon, or Sports Illustrated magazines, you've likely come across an article by Gilbert. In the past four decades, more than 350 of his articles and essays have appeared in places ranging from Esquire to the New York Times. Natural Coincidence collects some of Bil Gilbert's finest writing, covering a diverse range of subjects that include investigations of the biology of Tasmanian devils, the lives and loves of snapping turtles, and an appreciation of the intelligence of crows. Perfectly suiting this eclectic choice of angles is Gilbert's unique writing style, a blend of unprepossessing erudition, wit, and honesty that has been compared to Aldo Leopold's Sand County Almanac. The collection opens with a memoir of a childhood Christmas in western Michigan, before Gilbert's fascination with the natural world drew him to more exotic locales like Tasmania, Alaska, Nova Scotia, and Manhattan to write about such topics as the javelina, bigfoot, buffalo, and ringtails. "More than 50 years ago," writes Gilbert, "without a clear notion about why or where I was going, I set off on a trip from Kalamazoo, Michigan. I am still traveling toward an unknown destination. But along the way, much more for reasons of good luck than thoughtful planning, I have met many wonderful beings and happenings. The essays appearing in Natural Coincidence represent an attempt to describe some of these wonders. I like to think, or at least pretend, that the inspiration for and theme of this book is gratitude."

Book Mann s Doctor Faustus

Download or read book Mann s Doctor Faustus written by John Anderson and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2007 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a reader s guide to Mann s classic novel that attempts to answer the most compelling question of the 20th century how could millions of Jewish men, women and children have been murdered by the government of a country that prided itself as the civilized land of music, the land of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven? The noble purposes of this novel are to understand the nature and sources of Nazi evil and to help ban it from the ring in the future. As you will note, Mann s explanation is relevant for events in Iraq in 2007. Mann gives a new answer to this question the land of music produced not only the freedom-based music of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. It also produced twelve-tone row music, serial music composed without freedom but with strict controls. Founded on repetition, this new and ultra-control German music arrived with the advent of the Nazis. Actually invented by the German Arnold Schoenberg, in the novel it is invented by a fictional composer Adrian Leverkuhn. Mann believed that this kind of music contains the key to what happened politically in Germany starting at that same time. The first composition using the serial method was published in 1921, the same year Hitler became head of the National Socialist party. The key is that the music is composed with a rigid set of rules that must be slavishly followed. Based in repetition, these rules were to govern all aspects of music melodic progression, chord structure, rhythm. The rules denied composer freedom. This kind of music is discussed against the philosophical implications of the music of various composers such as Bach and Beethoven. Mann presents the view that Beethoven s late period music paved the way to Leverkuhn s serial music, to Gestapo music. Mann finds a demonic energy field at the heart of both serial music and of Nazism. Both triggered the rise of a demonic force by reason of blind and slavish obedience to rigid rules designed to establish control over too much, control over so much that freedom-denying methods were necessary to try to hold the result together. But Mann means something radically different by a demonic energy field. This is not your father s devil and this devil does not wear Prada. Mann s demonic is real and intangible but not a supernatural force. It is triggered by humans trying to control too much, even if the control is ostensibly designed for a good purpose. It happens when the end justifies the means. Then the means can and often become anti-humanitarian. Does that sound familiar? In the demonic energy field and like Doctor Faustus before him, Leverkuhn receives genius level energy but is rendered impotent of love, the demonic destroying the freedom that is the foundation for love. Genius-powered Leverkuhn produces serial music of a dissonant, fragmented and irreconciled character. His music is presented as the inevitable product of his pride twisted soul, which also has the uncanny power to influence otherwise natural events toward evil. In order to indicate that the same demonic process was at work on the national level in the case of the Nazis, Leverkuhn is given many of the personal characteristics of Hilter, including syphilis, and Leverkuhn s biography is told in a brilliantly structured counterpoint against the last years of the Third Reich [from 1943 to 1945].

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Devils and Deviants takes up the question of the impact of religious schism on the composition of 1 and 2 John. After decades attempting to reconstruct the beliefs of the schismatics referenced briefly in 1 John, Johannine scholars have largely rejected the notion that such a reconstruction can in fact be accomplished. In addition, there has been a notable move by some to interpret 1 and 2 John non-polemically, arguing that the schism has little or no bearing on the composition of these epistles and our ability to interpret them. In this volume, Merritt turns to the anthropology and sociology of religious schism to reconstruct the processes by which groups separate themselves from one another. He then applies that model as a heuristic device in reading 1 and 2 John, arguing in the process that, while the beliefs of the schismatics cannot be reconstructed with any accuracy, the schism has indeed had a profound impact on the Johannine community and 1 and 2 John.

Book Breaking Strongholds of the Devil Satan

Download or read book Breaking Strongholds of the Devil Satan written by Donald Evans and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-02-27 with total page 431 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The devil's strongholds originated in the spirit realm. Satan, the devil, has many ways of creating and holding a person in a certain condition to benefit his purposes and cause in the world. Once he sets his plan, it's going to be carried out by the individual regardless of being a Christian; believer or nonbeliever, it makes no difference. He has a way to hold individuals to his cause, whether it's delayed or not; his method of holding persons under his control is even greater among Christians. Why is that? Because most Christians believe they are "exempt" from the devil's strongholds. Big mistake! No one is exempt from the forces of evil, whose strongholds are among the highest level of evil and wickedness in the spiritual realm. A person can bind themselves in a stronghold without having any knowledge; it's not Satan but their spirit of perception, which is as real, active, and alive as the person themselves, for which Satan, the devil, gets the credit and blame. The spirit of perception of the mind is more powerful than the world acknowledges. The spirit of perception can hold a person in restraint forever without changing their perception. The world does not acknowledge or consider the spirit of perception is the culprit, which Satan feeds off, and that holds the world, the entire world, in total darkness! Satan is the god of this world and its system of things, which he controls because of the world's lack of knowledge of strongholds. Most of the world population does not know what a stronghold really represents in all human lives. No one is exempt from strongholds, which can bind a person until death! This book, Breaking Strongholds of the Devil Satan, shall give some light to the world about how strongholds bind persons for lifetimes. He or she can be set free of any and all strongholds in minutes where others have been held a lifetime and died.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ultimate Salvation in the context of this writing speaks of the final and complete redemptive experience in the Christian faith and what it takes to participate in it. It is the zenith of victory in the Christian race. Christianity as a religion of redemption from sin and its consequences and a reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ. It privileges believers in Christ to temporarily and partially enjoy the salvation received by faith in this world through diverse experiences in preparation for the eternal expectations. Christ, in one of his last instructions recorded in the Gospel of John 14:1aEUR"4, told His followers He is going to prepare a place in heaven for them and others who will join them. He said He will come back to take with Him to heaven everyone that believes in Him. And that is the peak of the hope of the people of God in Jesus Christ. Christian salvation is both immediate and progressive, and it is only at the rapture of the saints, living and dead, shall the ultimate be consummated. That being the case, Christians need to understand that we are in the evil last days (Ephesians 5:15aEUR"16), when those hoping for the ultimate salvation need to purify themselves (1 John 3:3) to maintain the LordaEUR(tm)s standard of holiness, bearing in mind that the finishing line of the heavenly race is nearer now than before (Romans 13:11).

Download or read book Vexed with Devils written by Erika Gasser and published by NYU Press. This book was released on 2019-12-15 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stories of witchcraft and demonic possession from early modern England through the last official trials in colonial New England Those possessed by the devil in early modern England usually exhibited a common set of symptoms: fits, vomiting, visions, contortions, speaking in tongues, and an antipathy to prayer. However, it was a matter of interpretation, and sometimes public opinion, if these symptoms were visited upon the victim, or if they came from within. Both early modern England and colonial New England had cases that blurred the line between witchcraft and demonic possession, most famously, the Salem witch trials. While historians acknowledge some similarities in witch trials between the two regions, such as the fact that an overwhelming majority of witches were women, the histories of these cases primarily focus on local contexts and specifics. In so doing, they overlook the ways in which manhood factored into possession and witchcraft cases. Vexed with Devils is a cultural history of witchcraft-possession phenomena that centers on the role of men and patriarchal power. Erika Gasser reveals that witchcraft trials had as much to do with who had power in the community, to impose judgement or to subvert order, as they did with religious belief. She argues that the gendered dynamics of possession and witchcraft demonstrated that contested meanings of manhood played a critical role in the struggle to maintain authority. While all men were not capable of accessing power in the same ways, many of the people involved—those who acted as if they were possessed, men accused of being witches, and men who wrote possession propaganda—invoked manhood as they struggled to advocate for themselves during these perilous times. Gasser ultimately concludes that the decline of possession and witchcraft cases was not merely a product of change over time, but rather an indication of the ways in which patriarchal power endured throughout and beyond the colonial period. Vexed with Devils reexamines an unnerving time and offers a surprising new perspective on our own, using stories and voices which emerge from the records in ways that continue to fascinate and unsettle us.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The devilish has long been integral to myths, legends, and folklore, firmly located in the relationships between good and evil, and selves and others. But how are ideas of evil constructed in current times and framed by contemporary social discourses? Modern Folk Devils builds on and works with Stanley Cohen’s theory on folk devils and moral panics to discuss the constructions of evil. The authors present an array of case-studies that illustrate how the notion of folk devils nowadays comes into play and animates ideas of otherness and evil throughout the world. Examining current fears and perceived threats, this volume investigates and analyzes how and why these devils are constructed. The chapters discuss how the devilish may take on many different forms: sometimes they exist only as a potential threat, other times they are a single individual or phenomenon or a visible group, such as refugees, technocrats, Roma, hipsters, LGBT groups, and rightwing politicians. Folk devils themselves are also given a voice to offer an essential complementary perspective on how panics become exaggerated, facts distorted, and problems acutely angled. Bringing together researchers from anthropology, sociology, political studies, ethnology, and criminology, the contributions examine cases from across the world spanning from Europe to Asia and Oceania.

Book Breaking Generational Curses Claiming Your Freedom

Download or read book Breaking Generational Curses Claiming Your Freedom written by Gabriel Agbo and published by Gabriel Agbo. This book was released on 2014-12-15 with total page 125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book will open your eyes to the consequences of all our actions to our destinies and that of our children; even those yet unborn. The subject of curses has long been neglected, and we found it necessary to expose them. We begin by going into the scriptures to know exactly what God has to say about them, how they operate, and how we can be free from them completely. Generational curses are so important that God included them in the table of the Ten Commandments. It is a fact that many, including Christians today, are suffering under the consequences of disobeying Gods commandments and expectations. So many are bound by the enemy with unseen and unidentifiable instruments of bondage. In this study, we will be taught how to break these chains which originate from the enemy. We explore deeper into areas like idolatry ( Including Halloween), immorality, treachery, stealing, murder, etc. I believe that as you read this book and explore its truths, there will be a stirring in you to examine your self and make deliberate efforts to live a holy life, if not for your self, at least for the sake of your children and the generations yet unborn. May God Bless you as you read this book and I ask that you read it with an open heart and mind that your understanding might be sharpened to what is really around you.
