Book A Christian Understanding of Deception

Download or read book A Christian Understanding of Deception written by R. Douglas Wardrop and published by Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency. This book was released on 2015-04-13 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. John 10:10a NKJV Satan is the god of this world (see 2 Corinthians 4:4 and 1 John 5:19), is the “father of lies” (see John 8:44), and his job description is to “steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” In order to achieve his aims, he most often lies to us and deceives us. Satan often disguises his forces to make them look like natural problems so you’ll fight them with natural weapons. But you cannot fight a spiritual foe with natural weapons but with spiritual weapons, i.e. speaking God’s word to the devil and his demons. Unfortunately satan can disguise himself as an “angel of light,” so it is possible to be deceived by an innocent and apparently correct Christian teaching (see Matthew 24:4, 24:5; Mark 13:5, 13:6; and Luke 21:8). Often these inaccurate or incomplete teachings focus on God’s love and blessings (thus appealing to our flesh and so lead us astray (see Mark 13:22 and 1 Timothy 4:1) and do not mention His greatness, or our need to obey Him and have a reverential fear of Him. This book aims to help reveal satan’s lie and deception strategies and so empower Christians to live the Christian life that God intended. “Great book, interesting and well written based on solid evidence, documented, and not on flights of fancy or fanciful digressions or comforting in a fantastic book where you can find and discover the birth of the religion best known to the world. Through the dialogue structure, the reading is easier even if the terminology is researched and complex. At first glance it may seem pedantic, but you will be fascinated by the events described that so well dot the book.” -- Kalyan Panja , Booktica - Book Reviews

Book Deceived By Evil A Great Sacrifice

Download or read book Deceived By Evil A Great Sacrifice written by John Daniel Roberts and published by Writers Republic LLC. This book was released on 2021-11-30 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deceived by Evil was conceived by a dream in a dream. A dream the author had after he’d dreamed of the funeral of a significant friend. And after reflecting on the funeral of many of his friends buried before their time, and all deceived by their own distractions. The dream, Deceived by Evil, is a brief synopsis or description of the damage that can occur when we’re vulnerable to the deceit of distractions that comes at us from a dark place. Most of the time, when we’re young, we are innocent and naïve to the many directions that life can pull us in, whether by bad parenting or many other abuses coming at us from all angles of darkness. This book is mainly about discernment, about being spiritually attuned to the negative forces at play and of a devil who is totally involved, by any means necessary, in the manipulation and orchestration of every chord and note played to the tune of our destruction. And as the book concludes, sometimes we must be ready to sacrifice that thing that looks right and feels good to the touch but deadly to the use. But it’s not necessary for you to have to sacrifice your life, if you learn from the lives that have been sacrificed to evil for your good. So if this book is received in its proper perspective by those who read it, my hope is that they will be able to lessen their chance of being Deceived by Evil.

Book A Divine Revelation of Satan s Deceptions

Download or read book A Divine Revelation of Satan s Deceptions written by Mary K. Baxter and published by Whitaker House. This book was released on 2015-06-15 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1976, Jesus took Mary K. Baxter on a spiritual journey for thirty nights to witness the torments of hell, charging her to reveal the terrible reality of God’s judgment and to relate the urgent message of salvation through Jesus Christ. Mary wrote about her journey to hell in her best-selling book A Divine Revelation of Hell, which has sold more than 1.3 million copies. After those thirty nights, Jesus told Mary, “I will close up your mind, and you will not remember some of the things I have shown and told you. But I will reopen your mind and bring back your understanding in the latter days. Then I will open up your remembrance….” Recently, God has brought back to Mary’s remembrance many of those experiences because these revelations are particularly for our day. A Divine Revelation of Satan’s Deceptions contains new images of hell that Mary has not related in her other books, as well as crucial insights into the deceptions Satan uses to destroy people and the tactics he employs to defeat believers. God has given His people anointings, gifts, and resources to build His kingdom that Satan has stolen and is holding captive in hell. This book reveals how we can use various “keys to the kingdom” to restore these blessings and to destroy the powers of darkness. Our choice is between allowing Satan to deceive and rob us—or claiming our spiritual inheritance and conquering the enemy in the power of God.

When a strange key is found in Stephen’s possession it sends Armand, his wife Reine-Marie, and his former second-in-command at the Sûreté, Jean-Guy Beauvoir, from the top of the Tour d’Eiffel, to the bowels of the Paris Archives, from luxury hotels to odd, coded, works of art. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A bold retelling of the history of lying in medieval and early modern Europe Is it ever acceptable to lie? This question plays a surprisingly important role in the story of Europe's transition from medieval to modern society. According to many historians, Europe became modern when Europeans began to lie—that is, when they began to argue that it is sometimes acceptable to lie. This popular account offers a clear trajectory of historical progression from a medieval world of faith, in which every lie is sinful, to a more worldly early modern society in which lying becomes a permissible strategy for self-defense and self-advancement. Unfortunately, this story is wrong. For medieval and early modern Christians, the problem of the lie was the problem of human existence itself. To ask "Is it ever acceptable to lie?" was to ask how we, as sinners, should live in a fallen world. As it turns out, the answer to that question depended on who did the asking. The Devil Wins uncovers the complicated history of lying from the early days of the Catholic Church to the Enlightenment, revealing the diversity of attitudes about lying by considering the question from the perspectives of five representative voices—the Devil, God, theologians, courtiers, and women. Examining works by Augustine, Bonaventure, Martin Luther, Madeleine de Scudéry, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and a host of others, Dallas G. Denery II shows how the lie, long thought to be the source of worldly corruption, eventually became the very basis of social cohesion and peace.
