Book Development of Officer Selection and Classification Tests 1966

Download or read book Development of Officer Selection and Classification Tests 1966 written by Robert E. Miller and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two new tests for use at the officer and student officer level were constructed for implementation is fiscal year 1966. These are the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test-66 (AFOQT) and the AFROTC Pre-Enrollment Test-66 (PET). The former succeeds AFOQT-64 in the normal two-year replacement cycle and closely resembles AFOQT-64 in format, type of content, and procedures for construction and standardization. It yields Pilot, Navigator-Technical, Officer Quality, Verbal, and Quantitative composite scores. Standardization was accomplished with reference to the Project TALENT battery in a manner which permits relating scores on the new test form to performance of Air Force Academy candidates and 12th grade males. A similar procedure was used in standardizing AFROTC PET-66. This test is an adaptation of the former Precommission Screening Test-62. It yields a total score based on verbal and quantitative items. It is intended as a screening device for college freshmen who apply for the AFROTC program.

Book Development of a Selection Battery for Army Image Interpreters

Download or read book Development of a Selection Battery for Army Image Interpreters written by Harold Martinek and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report concerns research to identify among prospective image interpreter trainees those with the necessary aptitude and abilities to achieve competence as image interpreters. Experimental measures were administered to over 200 officers and 65 enlisted trainees at entrance into the Image Interpreter Training Course conducted at the Army Intelligence School. Tests were evaluated for effectiveness in measuring potential for image interpretation using two yardsticks of training success--final course grade and end-of-course performance on practical exercises simulating intelligence requirements for information extraction from aerial surveillance imagery. A two-test battery consisting of an Image Orientation Test and an Image Interpretation Information Test was developed for Officer trainee selection. The Information test was made up of questions on general science, image interpretation, tactics, photography, and earth sciences. The General Technical Aptitude Area (GT), based on the Verbal and Arithmetic Reasoning tests of the Army Classification Battery, was the most effective selector for enlisted trainees.
