Book Integrated Instruments

Download or read book Integrated Instruments written by Harold E. Bamford and published by . This book was released on 1957 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Measurements of the performance of nine Air Force pilots in simulated flight demonstrated an improvement in direction control when an integrated roll and turn indicator was substituted for the standard turn indicator. The finding is discussed in relation to a simplified model of the experimental man-machine system. Three principles of display design are offered by the authors in conclusion: a. the command effectiveness of a feedback display is increased by the distinct indication therein of control-induced components of the system output; b. the command effectiveness of a feedback display is increased by anticipatory indication therein of the feedback signal; and c. the interpretability of an instrument display is increased by the distinct indication therein of each aspect of the condition displayed."--Abstract.

Book Development of Intent Information Changes to Revised Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards for Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast RTCA DO 242A

Download or read book Development of Intent Information Changes to Revised Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards for Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast RTCA DO 242A written by Richard Barhydt and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: RTCA Special Committee 186 has recently adopted a series of changes to the original Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards (MASPS) for Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B). The new document will be published as DO-242A. Major changes to the MASPS include a significant restructuring and expansion of the intent parameters for future ADS-B systems. ADS-B provides a means for aircraft to exchange information about their intended trajectories with each other and with ground systems. NASA and Boeing have played significant roles in recommending these changes and providing supporting analysis. The intent changes are anticipated to provide substantial benefits to several programs and operational concepts under development by the two organizations. Major changes include the addition of Target State reports and the replacement of Trajectory Change Point reports with Trajectory Change reports.

Book Air Transport and Regional Development Methodologies

Download or read book Air Transport and Regional Development Methodologies written by Anne Graham and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2020-12-27 with total page 329 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Air Transport and Regional Development Methodologies is one of three interconnected books related to a four-year European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Action established in 2015. The action, called Air Transport and Regional Development (ATARD), aimed to promote a better understanding of how the air transport–related problems of core regions and remote regions should be addressed to enhance both economic competitiveness and social cohesion in Europe. This book discusses key methodological approaches to assessing air transport and regional development, outlining their respective strengths and weaknesses. These include input- output analysis, cost benefit analysis, computable general equilibrium models, data envelopment analysis, stochastic frontier analysis, discrete choice models and game theory. Air Transport and Regional Development Methodologies aims at becoming a major reference source on the topic, drawing from experienced researchers in the field, covering the diverse experience and knowledge of the members of the COST Action. The book will be of interest to several large groups. First, it will serve as an authoritative and comprehensive reference for academics, researchers and consultants. Second, it will advise policy- makers and government organizations at European, national and regional levels. Third, it presents invaluable insights to transport companies such as airports and airline operators. Along with the other two books (Air Transport and Regional Development Policies and Air Transport and Regional Development Case Studies), it fills a much-needed gap in the literature.
