Book excerpt: The purpose of the study is to develop and implement a Bible-based relational evangelism program at the Korean Baptist Church of Milwaukee, Greenfield, Wisconsin. For twelve weeks, twelve selected church members were trained in relational evangelism with the goal of applying the training into their daily lives. This project is designed to help revitalize Korean immigrant churches located in the small Korean population. Both interviews and questionnaires were utilized to assess the results. Through this project, the participants were able to do the followings: understand the gospel, revitalize the personal joy of salvation, be confident in evangelism and their personal testimony, understand relational evangelism strategies, and devote themselves to evangelism throughout their lives.

Book excerpt: Evangelism is a word that strikes fear in the hearts of even the most faithful Christians. Though believers realize their responsibility to connect others to Christ, many feel intimidated by the task. A plethora of programs and processes have been developed to aid believers in evangelism; however, these can often feel impersonal, inauthentic, or awkward. In frustration, many believers have given up hope of ever feeling adequate to share their faith with others. What if evangelism was not meant to be a process? What if it was never intended to be boiled down to step-by-step programs or processes? What if introducing others to Jesus is actually as easy as sharing life with others and having a few intentional conversations? Through this book, readers will learn an approach to evangelism that leverages relationality while minimizing much of the anxiety that accompanies sharing ones faith. Rather than a new approach, this simple, straight-forward perspective is a return to the evangelism modeled by the first believers. There are no flowcharts, presentations, or acronyms. All that is required is a reliance on the Holy Spirit, Gods Word, and a desire to cultivate and build intentional relationships for the sake of the gospel. The ultimate goal is to see every believer equipped, encouraged, and empowered to do his part to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ.

Download or read book Discipleship that Fits written by Bobby Harrington and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2016-02-09 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For far too long, the church has tried to make disciples using a one-size-fits-all approach. Some churches advocate 1-on-1 discipling, others try getting everyone into a small group, while still others training through mission trips or service projects. Yet others focus all their efforts on attracting people to a large group gathering to hear biblical teaching and preaching. But does one size really fit everyone? Based on careful biblical study and years of experience making disciples in the local church, Bobby Harrington and Alex Absalom have identified five key relationships where discipleship happens in our lives. In each relational context we need to understand how discipleship occurs and we need to set appropriate expectations for each context. Discipleship That Fits shows you the five key ways discipleship occurs. It looks at how Jesus made disciples and how disciples were formed in the early church. Each of the contexts is necessary at different times and in different ways as a person grows toward maturity in Christ: Public Relationships: The church gathering corporately for worship Social Relationships: Networks of smaller relationships where we engage in mission and live out our faith in community Personal Relationships: Small groups of six to sixteen people where we challenge and encourage one another on a regular basis Transparent Relationships: Close relationships of three to four where we share intimate details of our lives for accountability The Divine Relationship: Our relationship with Jesus Christ where we grow through the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit Filled with examples and stories, Alex and Bobby show you how to develop discipleship practices in each relational context by sharing how Jesus did it, how the early church practiced it, and how churches are discipling people today.

Book Contagious Faith Bible Study Guide plus Streaming Video

Download or read book Contagious Faith Bible Study Guide plus Streaming Video written by Mark Mittelberg and published by HarperChristian Resources. This book was released on 2021-12-28 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if you could find a way to share your faith in Jesus that feels natural, fits your personality, and ignites a fire in others? In this video-based evangelism training course (video streaming code included), author of Becoming a Contagious Christian Mark Mittelberg introduces five approaches to evangelism to help you determine which of them fit best with your unique gifts and personality: Friendship-Building Selfless-Serving Story-Sharing Reason-Giving Truth-Telling As disciples of Christ, we are called to share the gospel, but few of us are naturally comfortable with evangelism. We wrestle with a sense of insecurity, a lack of preparation, and the sense that reaching out to others might force us to act like someone we're not. And many of us feel guilty when we fail to use an opportunity to talk about our faith, lowering our confidence even further. Building upon popular personality-type methods, the Contagious Faith assessment will help you identify your primary style, along with any secondary styles you discover. You'll learn next steps for developing and deploying your natural approach to evangelism and work through interactive prompts to practice the methods Mark unpacks in the videos. The Contagious Faith Study Guide can be used in small groups, classes, student ministries, and church-wide campaigns and has everything you need to participate, including: The guide itself—with discussion and personal reflection questions, prompts, video notes, and a leader's guide. An individual access code to stream all six video sessions online (you don't need to buy a DVD!). An assessment quiz to help you determine your Contagious Faith style. The training videos also include short interviews with Mark and five individuals who speak and use each of the 5 faith-sharing styles so that you can see them in action.
