Crucially, personal 'faith' is not portrayed as some sort of 'once-off' acquisition of a ready-packaged creed or secular belief system. Rather, seeds of faith actually tend to grow, change, indeed 'evolve' through particular stages during the human life-course. These relatively unknown stages are the main platform for David Bick's text. Facing all of us with fundamentals of our human character, this book provides food for the soul in all seasons of life, from teens to old age.

Many people have lost their sense of purpose in life, or perhaps never took the time to develop one in the first place. Through personal stories, Scripture, and testimonies, the authors invite readers to find their purpose in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Discover Christ proposes that we find our identity and purpose in a God who is personal to the core. The book presents a God who didn't just send the broken world a set of rules, or a plan of social action, but who sent a person whose name is Jesus Christ. Whether you are skeptical of religious faith or a life-long believer, Discover Christ will challenge you to take a fresh look at what Jesus said and did and what that means for you.

This book was released on 2021-12-28 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if you could find a way to share your faith in Jesus that feels natural, fits your personality, and ignites a fire in others? In this video-based evangelism training course (video streaming code included), author of Becoming a Contagious Christian Mark Mittelberg introduces five approaches to evangelism to help you determine which of them fit best with your unique gifts and personality: Friendship-Building Selfless-Serving Story-Sharing Reason-Giving Truth-Telling As disciples of Christ, we are called to share the gospel, but few of us are naturally comfortable with evangelism. We wrestle with a sense of insecurity, a lack of preparation, and the sense that reaching out to others might force us to act like someone we're not. And many of us feel guilty when we fail to use an opportunity to talk about our faith, lowering our confidence even further. Building upon popular personality-type methods, the Contagious Faith assessment will help you identify your primary style, along with any secondary styles you discover. You'll learn next steps for developing and deploying your natural approach to evangelism and work through interactive prompts to practice the methods Mark unpacks in the videos. The Contagious Faith Study Guide can be used in small groups, classes, student ministries, and church-wide campaigns and has everything you need to participate, including: The guide itself—with discussion and personal reflection questions, prompts, video notes, and a leader's guide. An individual access code to stream all six video sessions online (you don't need to buy a DVD!). An assessment quiz to help you determine your Contagious Faith style. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "While physical training has some value, training in holy living is useful for everything. It has promise for this life now and the life to come." ~ 1 Timothy 4:8 Christians crave a deeper, more intimate relationship with God. Spiritual disciplines are activities and practices that guide you in your daily walk through life bringing you closer to Christ. They also help you to make a difference in our world. Practicing these spiritual disciplines opens you to God's transforming love and help you experience Holy Living. At its core, the spiritual practice of simplicity enables us to eliminate from our lives all the things—both material possessions and thoughts, habits, and attitudes—that distract us from God so that God has complete freedom to work in and through us. Simplicity brings freedom, balance, and perspective to our lives and enables us to align our priorities with the priorities of God. It reorients us and allows us to be open to the present moment. Developing the spiritual practice of simplicity is key to a healthy, vibrant relationship with God and others. This book helps us know how to begin and implement this practice. This is one of series of eight books. Each book in this series introduces a spiritual practice, suggests way of living the practice daily, and provides opportunities to grow personally and in a faith community with others who engage with the practice. Each book consists of an introduction and four chapters and includes questions for personal reflection and group discussion. Other disciplines studied: Celebration, Confession, Discernment, Neighboring, Study, and Worship.

Book The Excellence of Faith

  • Publisher : AuthorHouse
  • Release : 2018-06-13
  • ISBN : 1546239510

Download or read book The Excellence of Faith written by Dr. Nosayaba Evbuomwan and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2018-06-13 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Excellence of Faith is a treatise that aims to discuss this all-important subject from multiple perspectives to provide a comprehensive overview that would benefit the body of Christ. The subject of faith, although commonly discussed, is perhaps not fully appreciated, understood, and applied by many Christians. The book goes at length to provide many definitions, explanations, expositions, and practical application of biblical principles of faith. The book begins with some apologetics of the Christian faith as the faith and our most holy faith. Part of the impetus for writing the book is the phrase the just shall live by faith, which is repeated four times throughout the Bible. Sufficient attempt was made at a comprehensive expos of the phrase and using it as the basis for discussing foundational truths and principles of faith. Pleasing God and living a victorious and profitable/productive Christian life are elucidated as part of the purpose and necessity for faith. The book extensively discusses the personalization/ownership of our faith as well as the tangibility and reality of faith as a spiritual force to be employed in a believers life on daily basis. Some heroes of faith, based on Hebrews 11, were examined. The book also discussed the concept of types and levels/degrees/measures of faith as well as factors that can hinder our faith. The aim here is to be aware and then develop mitigating strategies against limits to our faith. In living by faith, understanding of certain key/important attributes from the scriptures are discussed extensively. Although an invisible force, biblical faith is always followed by a corresponding action of visible good works. Faith in practice, therefore, always produces a manifestation for all to see. This truth was also discussed in the book. The book concludes with how faith is acquired, developed, maintained, and matured as the believer grows to become like the Lord Jesus Christ as well as the emphasis on the truth that biblical manifestation of faith always works by Gods love.
