Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Known for its textbook/workbook format, Calculation of Drug Dosages, 10th Edition makes it easy to master the ratio and proportion, formula, and dimensional analysis methods for drug calculation. A basic review of mathematics refreshes your math skills, and plenty of practice problems help you overcome any inexperience or weaknesses you may have. Written by nursing experts Sheila Ogden and Linda Fluharty, this resource helps you calculate drug dosages accurately and with confidence. An extensive math review covers the basic math skills essential for accurate calculation of drug dosages and helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses. Over 1,800 practice problems reinforce your understanding of drug calculations. A logical structure is organized from simple to complex, making it easier to absorb and retain knowledge. Learning objectives keep you focused and explain what you should accomplish upon completion of each chapter. An Alert box highlights information crucial to math calculation and patient safety. Chapter worksheets allow you to practice solving realistic problems. Post-tests at the end of each chapter let you assess your understanding of content. A comprehensive post-test at the end of the book offers additional practice and accurately gauges your overall understanding. Over 600 practice problems on the Evolve companion website cover ratio-proportion, formula, and dimensional analysis methods. 25 flash cards on Evolve contain abbreviations, formulas, and conversions from the book, allowing you to study at your own pace. UPDATED drug labels and equipment photos show the latest drugs and technology used in the market. NEW! Additional Intake and Output problems are included, and the apothecary method is minimized and moved to the appendix. NEW! Easy-access answer key is placed at the end of each chapter rather than in the back of the book.

Book Nonlinear Analysis and Boundary Value Problems

Download or read book Nonlinear Analysis and Boundary Value Problems written by Iván Area and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-09-19 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to Prof. Juan J. Nieto, on the occasion of his 60th birthday. Juan José Nieto Roig (born 1958, A Coruña) is a Spanish mathematician, who has been a Professor of Mathematical Analysis at the University of Santiago de Compostela since 1991. His most influential contributions to date are in the area of differential equations. Nieto received his degree in Mathematics from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1980. He was then awarded a Fulbright scholarship and moved to the University of Texas at Arlington where he worked with Professor V. Lakshmikantham. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1983. Nieto's work may be considered to fall within the ambit of differential equations, and his research interests include fractional calculus, fuzzy equations and epidemiological models. He is one of the world’s most cited mathematicians according to Web of Knowledge, and appears in the Thompson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers list. Nieto has also occupied different positions at the University of Santiago de Compostela, such as Dean of Mathematics and Director of the Mathematical Institute. He has also served as an editor for various mathematical journals, and was the editor-in-chief of the journal Nonlinear Analysis: Real World Applications from 2009 to 2012. In 2016, Nieto was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Galician Academy of Sciences. This book consists of contributions presented at the International Conference on Nonlinear Analysis and Boundary Value Problems, held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, 4th-7th September 2018. Covering a variety of topics linked to Nieto’s scientific work, ranging from differential, difference and fractional equations to epidemiological models and dynamical systems and their applications, it is primarily intended for researchers involved in nonlinear analysis and boundary value problems in a broad sense.

Book Value Distribution in P Adic Analysis

Download or read book Value Distribution in P Adic Analysis written by Alain Escassut and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2015-11-27 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The book first explains the main properties of analytic functions in order to use them in the study of various problems in p-adic value distribution. Certain properties of p-adic transcendental numbers are examined such as order and type of transcendence, with problems on p-adic exponentials. Lazard's problem for analytic functions inside a disk is explained. P-adic meromorphics are studied. Sets of range uniqueness in a p-adic field are examined. The ultrametric Corona problem is studied. Injective analytic elements are characterized. The p-adic Nevanlinna theory is described and many applications are given: p-adic Hayman conjecture, Picard's values for derivatives, small functions, branched values, growth of entire functions, problems of uniqueness, URSCM and URSIM, functions of uniqueness, sharing value problems, Nevanlinna theory in characteristic p>0, p-adic Yosida's equation."--

Book Market Risk Analysis Value at Risk Models

Download or read book Market Risk Analysis Value at Risk Models written by Carol Alexander and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2009-02-09 with total page 503 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Written by leading market risk academic, Professor Carol Alexander, Value-at-Risk Models forms part four of the Market Risk Analysis four volume set. Building on the three previous volumes this book provides by far the most comprehensive, rigorous and detailed treatment of market VaR models. It rests on the basic knowledge of financial mathematics and statistics gained from Volume I, of factor models, principal component analysis, statistical models of volatility and correlation and copulas from Volume II and, from Volume III, knowledge of pricing and hedging financial instruments and of mapping portfolios of similar instruments to risk factors. A unifying characteristic of the series is the pedagogical approach to practical examples that are relevant to market risk analysis in practice. All together, the Market Risk Analysis four volume set illustrates virtually every concept or formula with a practical, numerical example or a longer, empirical case study. Across all four volumes there are approximately 300 numerical and empirical examples, 400 graphs and figures and 30 case studies many of which are contained in interactive Excel spreadsheets available from the the accompanying CD-ROM . Empirical examples and case studies specific to this volume include: Parametric linear value at risk (VaR)models: normal, Student t and normal mixture and their expected tail loss (ETL); New formulae for VaR based on autocorrelated returns; Historical simulation VaR models: how to scale historical VaR and volatility adjusted historical VaR; Monte Carlo simulation VaR models based on multivariate normal and Student t distributions, and based on copulas; Examples and case studies of numerous applications to interest rate sensitive, equity, commodity and international portfolios; Decomposition of systematic VaR of large portfolios into standard alone and marginal VaR components; Backtesting and the assessment of risk model risk; Hypothetical factor push and historical stress tests, and stress testing based on VaR and ETL.
