Book Performance Analysis of a DS CDMA System Carrying Multirate Traffic with RCMA Protocol

Download or read book Performance Analysis of a DS CDMA System Carrying Multirate Traffic with RCMA Protocol written by Rey Fredy González May and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recently, users need to have a communication service that allows them integrate voice and data, plus mobility. Cellular communication needs to be improved in its data transmission in order to be a reliable and competitive service as the wire service does. In this work, we evaluate Reservation Code Multiple Access (RCMA) to integrate services in a DS-CDMA cellular system carrying multirate traffic, voice and a data types. The multiuser interfer- ence factor, the probability of a successful transmission given other users are transmitting, and an homogeneous transmission line rate are considered in the analysis. We obtain the capacity of the number of users supported in function of the user type with the highest service quality. We evaluate the system performance in terms of speech packets dropping probability, message loss probability and data packet average delay. We conclude that CDMA system capacity is improved if RCMA is used to control the access medium and it depends of the service quality to provide.

Book Performance Evaluation of Ds Cdma Receivers Using Genetic Algorithm

Download or read book Performance Evaluation of Ds Cdma Receivers Using Genetic Algorithm written by Mangal Singh and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2011-01 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Direct sequence-code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) technique is used in cellular systems where users in the cell are separated from each other with their unique spreading codes. In recent times DS-CDMA has been used extensively. These systems suffers from multiple access interference (MAI) due to other users transmitting in the cell, channel inter symbol interference (ISI) due to multipath nature of channels in presence of additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN). Spreading codes play an important role in multiple access capacity of DS-CDMA system. M-sequences, gold sequences etc., has been traditionally used as spreading codes in DS-CDMA. These sequences are generated by shift registers and periodic in nature. So these sequences are less in number and also limits the security. This Book presents an investigation on use of new type of DS CDMA receiver called Genetic Algorithm based DS-CDMA receiver. Genetic Algorithm is robust optimization technique and does not fall into local minima hence this gives better weight optimization of any system. This monograph investigates the performance of GA based DS-CDMA communication using gold code sequences.

Book An Experimental Approach to CDMA and Interference Mitigation

Download or read book An Experimental Approach to CDMA and Interference Mitigation written by Luca Fanucci and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-05-08 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An Experimental Approach to CDMA and Interference Mitigation was written with the admittedly ambitious intent of filling the gap between communication theory and VLSI implementation, and thus to provide a more general/theoretical approach to the design, development, and testing of a CDMA receiver. As a consequence, the concepts and techniques that are presented turn out to be applicable to a more general kind of digital wireless modems in terms of receiver architecture design and implementation. As the reader will easily find out, the subject of digital modem design and implementation is addressed in the book starting from a theoretical approach (supported by proper bibliographic references), and is followed by application issues, with reference to an ESA experiment assumed as a case study. A complete design flow, from specification to implementation, including testing and final verification is then presented. This leads the reader step-by-step to a thorough understanding of CDMA transmission and detection, and constitutes a practical guidance for the design of VLSI wireless mobile terminals.

Book Performance Analysis of Adaptive Chaos based DS CDMA System with Imperfect Channel Estimation

Download or read book Performance Analysis of Adaptive Chaos based DS CDMA System with Imperfect Channel Estimation written by Meher Krishna Patel and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis presents the analysis of chaos-based direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems under imperfect channel estimation environments. Chaos-based CDMA systems are studied extensively in the last few decades, but their performances under imperfect channel estimation conditions are never studied. The main motivation of the thesis is to fill this research gap under various possible conditions. The thesis focuses on three main objectives. The first objective is to determine the effect of spreading sequences in channel estimation processes. Here performances of channel estimators in the presence and absence of chaotic spreading sequences are investigated. The second objective is to study the performances of imperfect channel estimations in chaos based CDMA systems under various fading conditions. This part mainly focuses on the various factors which deteriorate the performance of the systems. The third objective focuses on the various techniques which can improve the performances of the systems. In this part various available techniques for CDMA systems are studied under imperfect channel estimation environments. It is concluded that performances of all the available chaos based CDMA systems significantly depend on performances of channel estimators. Analytical simulation results in the thesis show that performance degradation in available systems due to various fading channels can be significantly improved by using channel estimators.
