Book Design and Implementation of a Telemetry System for Microsatellite Operations

Download or read book Design and Implementation of a Telemetry System for Microsatellite Operations written by Xiaozheng Xu and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Small satellites generate lots of telemetry data on orbit. These telemetry data are important for monitoring the health of spacecraft, validating design, and planning operations. As more small satellites are being launched into space, an integrated telemetry system is needed to store, access, and display telemetry data. This thesis presents the author's work in designing and implementing such a system. This telemetry system greatly facilitates checking telemetry data and provides a platform on which automated telemetry monitoring and autonomous operations can be implemented. First, a PostgreSQL database and a back-end interface are described, followed by the front-end components which include a graphical user interface and a visualization tool with Grafana. Then, tools that insert data into the database are presented along with performance benchmarking. Finally, use cases of the telemetry system are presented, including but not limited to telemetry monitoring and telemetry analysis.

Download or read book Software Telemetry written by Jamie Riedesel and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2021-08-31 with total page 558 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Software Telemetry is a guide to operating the telemetry systems that monitor and maintain your applications. It takes a big picture view of telemetry, teaching you to manage your logging, metrics, and events as a complete end-to-end ecosystem. You'll learn the base architecture that underpins any software telemetry system, allowing you to easily integrate new systems into your existing infrastructure, and how these systems work under the hood. Throughout, you'll follow three very different companies to see how telemetry techniques impact a greenfield startup, a large legacy enterprise, and a non-technical organization without any in-house development. You'll even cover how software telemetry is used by court processes--ensuring that when your first telemetry subpoena arrives, there's no reason to panic!

Book Selected papers from the 2019 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace

Download or read book Selected papers from the 2019 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace written by Pasquale Daponte and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2021-04-21 with total page 446 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to recent developments of instrumentation and measurement techniques applied to the aerospace field. It includes 23 selected papers from the 2019 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace. Measurements are essential for obtaining a deeper knowledge of a phenomenon or an asset, as well as for making proper decisions and proposing new and efficient solutions, and this is especially true in environments as complex as aerospace. The research contributions included in the book can raise the interest of a wide group of researchers, operators and decision-makers from metrology and aerospace fields by presenting the most innovative solutions in this field from the scientific and technological points of view.

Book The FLP Microsatellite Platform

Download or read book The FLP Microsatellite Platform written by Jens Eickhoff and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-12-10 with total page 697 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book represents the Flight Operations Manual for a reusable microsatellite platform – the “Future Low-cost Platform” (FLP), developed at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. It provides a basic insight on the onboard software functions, the core data handling system and on the power, communications, attitude control and thermal subsystem of the platform. Onboard failure detection, isolation and recovery functions are treated in detail. The platform is suited for satellites in the 50-150 kg class and is baseline of the microsatellite “Flying Laptop” from the University. The book covers the essential information for ground operators to controls an FLP-based satellite applying international command and control standards (CCSDS and ECSS PUS). Furthermore it provides an overview on the Flight Control Center in Stuttgart and on the link to the German Space Agency DLR Ground Station which is used for early mission phases. Flight procedure and mission planning chapters complement the book.

Book The Design Implementation Test and Operation of the Communication System for the MOST Microsatellite microform

Download or read book The Design Implementation Test and Operation of the Communication System for the MOST Microsatellite microform written by Alexander M. (Alexander Michel) Beattie and published by National Library of Canada = Bibliothèque nationale du Canada. This book was released on 2004 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Microvariability and Oscillations of Stars microsatellite is an ambitious project to demonstrate high-value science requiring a high-performance satellite bus and instrument in a microsatellite-sized package and cost. The work performed in this report summarizes the communication subsystem for the satellite, including both the satellite and Earth station hardware. One major design iteration is presented, along with the final, flight form of the subsystem. The ground testing methodology is also present, and some in-flight experience is given.

Book Spacecraft Systems Engineering

Download or read book Spacecraft Systems Engineering written by Peter Fortescue and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-08-24 with total page 700 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This fourth edition of the bestselling Spacecraft Systems Engineering title provides the reader with comprehensive coverage of the design of spacecraft and the implementation of space missions, across a wide spectrum of space applications and space science. The text has been thoroughly revised and updated, with each chapter authored by a recognized expert in the field. Three chapters – Ground Segment, Product Assurance and Spacecraft System Engineering – have been rewritten, and the topic of Assembly, Integration and Verification has been introduced as a new chapter, filling a gap in previous editions. This edition addresses ‘front-end system-level issues’ such as environment, mission analysis and system engineering, but also progresses to a detailed examination of subsystem elements which represents the core of spacecraft design. This includes mechanical, electrical and thermal aspects, as well as propulsion and control. This quantitative treatment is supplemented by an emphasis on the interactions between elements, which deeply influences the process of spacecraft design. Adopted on courses worldwide, Spacecraft Systems Engineering is already widely respected by students, researchers and practising engineers in the space engineering sector. It provides a valuable resource for practitioners in a wide spectrum of disciplines, including system and subsystem engineers, spacecraft equipment designers, spacecraft operators, space scientists and those involved in related sectors such as space insurance. In summary, this is an outstanding resource for aerospace engineering students, and all those involved in the technical aspects of design and engineering in the space sector.
