Download or read book Syst mes dynamiques discrets non r guliers d terministes ou stochastiques applications aux mod les avec frottement ou impact written by BASTIEN Jérôme and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2012-11-21 with total page 546 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Divergent Series Summability and Resurgence II written by Michèle Loday-Richaud and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-06-28 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Addressing the question how to “sum” a power series in one variable when it diverges, that is, how to attach to it analytic functions, the volume gives answers by presenting and comparing the various theories of k-summability and multisummability. These theories apply in particular to all solutions of ordinary differential equations. The volume includes applications, examples and revisits, from a cohomological point of view, the group of tangent-to-identity germs of diffeomorphisms of C studied in volume 1. With a view to applying the theories to solutions of differential equations, a detailed survey of linear ordinary differential equations is provided, which includes Gevrey asymptotic expansions, Newton polygons, index theorems and Sibuya’s proof of the meromorphic classification theorem that characterizes the Stokes phenomenon for linear differential equations. This volume is the second in a series of three, entitled Divergent Series, Summability and Resurgence. It is aimed at graduate students and researchers in mathematics and theoretical physics who are interested in divergent series, Although closely related to the other two volumes, it can be read independently.

Download or read book Des quations diff rentielles aux syst mes dynamiques II written by Robert Roussarie and published by EDP Sciences. This book was released on 2014-05-01T00:00:00+02:00 with total page 329 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

The second volume contains papers dealing with analytical or geometrical aspects: Lyapunov stability, asymptotic and dynamical analysis for pencils of trajectories, monodromy in moduli spaces, WKB analysis and Stokes geometry, first and second Painleve equations, normal forms for saddle-node type singularities, and invariant tori for PDEs. The volumes are suitable for graduate students and researchers interested in differential equations, number theory, geometry, and topology.
Download or read book Chaos in Automatic Control written by Wilfrid Perruquetti and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 398 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chaotic behavior arises in a variety of control settings. In some cases, it is beneficial to remove this behavior; in others, introducing or taking advantage of the existing chaotic components can be useful for example in cryptography. Chaos in Automatic Control surveys the latest methods for inserting, taking advantage of, or removing chaos in a variety of applications. This book supplies the theoretical and pedagogical basis of chaos in control systems along with new concepts and recent developments in the field. Presented in three parts, the book examines open-loop analysis, closed-loop control, and applications of chaos in control systems. The first section builds a background in the mathematics of ordinary differential and difference equations on which the remainder of the book is based. It includes an introductory chapter by Christian Mira, a pioneer in chaos research. The next section explores solutions to problems arising in observation and control of closed-loop chaotic control systems. These include model-independent control methods, strategies such as H-infinity and sliding modes, polytopic observers, normal forms using homogeneous transformations, and observability normal forms. The final section explores applications in wireless transmission, optics, power electronics, and cryptography. Chaos in Automatic Control distills the latest thinking in chaos while relating it to the most recent developments and applications in control. It serves as a platform for developing more robust, autonomous, intelligent, and adaptive systems.
Download or read book Differential Geometry Applied to Dynamical Systems written by Jean-Marc Ginoux and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2009 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book aims to present a new approach called Flow Curvature Method that applies Differential Geometry to Dynamical Systems. Hence, for a trajectory curve, an integral of any n-dimensional dynamical system as a curve in Euclidean n-space, the curvature of the trajectory OCo or the flow OCo may be analytically computed. Then, the location of the points where the curvature of the flow vanishes defines a manifold called flow curvature manifold. Such a manifold being defined from the time derivatives of the velocity vector field, contains information about the dynamics of the system, hence identifying the main features of the system such as fixed points and their stability, local bifurcations of codimension one, center manifold equation, normal forms, linear invariant manifolds (straight lines, planes, hyperplanes). In the case of singularly perturbed systems or slow-fast dynamical systems, the flow curvature manifold directly provides the slow invariant manifold analytical equation associated with such systems. Also, starting from the flow curvature manifold, it will be demonstrated how to find again the corresponding dynamical system, thus solving the inverse problem.
Download or read book Asymptotic Behavior and Stability Problems in Ordinary Differential Equations written by Lamberto Cesari and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last few decades the theory of ordinary differential equations has grown rapidly under the action of forces which have been working both from within and without: from within, as a development and deepen ing of the concepts and of the topological and analytical methods brought about by LYAPUNOV, POINCARE, BENDIXSON, and a few others at the turn of the century; from without, in the wake of the technological development, particularly in communications, servomechanisms, auto matic controls, and electronics. The early research of the authors just mentioned lay in challenging problems of astronomy, but the line of thought thus produced found the most impressive applications in the new fields. The body of research now accumulated is overwhelming, and many books and reports have appeared on one or another of the multiple aspects of the new line of research which some authors call" qualitative theory of differential equations". The purpose of the present volume is to present many of the view points and questions in a readable short report for which completeness is not claimed. The bibliographical notes in each section are intended to be a guide to more detailed expositions and to the original papers. Some traditional topics such as the Sturm comparison theory have been omitted. Also excluded were all those papers, dealing with special differential equations motivated by and intended for the applications.
Download or read book Flows on Compact Surfaces written by Nelson G. Markley and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-07-18 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook offers a uniquely accessible introduction to flows on compact surfaces, filling a gap in the existing literature. The book can be used for a single semester course and/or for independent study. It demonstrates that covering spaces provide a suitable and modern setting for studying the structure of flows on compact surfaces. The thoughtful treatment of flows on surfaces uses topology (especially covering spaces), the classification of compact surfaces, and Euclidean and hyperbolic rigid motions to establish structural theorems that describe flows on surfaces generally. Several of the topics from dynamical systems that appear in this book (e.g., fixed points, invariant sets, orbits, almost periodic points) also appear in the many subareas of dynamical systems. The book successfully presents the reader with a self-contained introduction to dynamical systems or an expansion of one's existing knowledge of the field. Prerequisites include completion of a graduate-level topology course; a background in dynamical systems is not assumed.
