La primera parte la componen cuatro artículos largos de estudio académico en los que se abordan cuatro cuestiones relacionadas con los derechos humanos: si la pena de muerte es legítima; si las mujeres han de tener derechos específicos; si la Carta Europea de Derechos es una buena declaración de derechos para Europa; y cómo la idea de derechos humanos puede ser pervertida ideológicamente. La segunda parte está compuesta por dieciséis artículos cortos de estilo más informal que se ocupan en su mayoría de lo que podemos llamar injusticias cotidianas: cosas que pasan cada día, o cosas que se dicen, y que revelan lo injusto que es nuestro mundo.

Segundo, porque el nuevo modelo de "Seguridad y Subsistencia" es lo opuesto a su predecesor histórico: el modelo de "Seguridad Nacional" o "Pacto de Punto Fijo." La "Seguridad Nacional" fue impuesta desde los Estados Unidos durante la guerra fría a toda su área de influencia y ha causado estragos: guerras, muertes, torturas y la violación sistemática de los derechos humanos en Venezuela, en Latinoamérica y en muchas partes del mundo. Tercero, porque el modelo bolivariano ofrece una respuesta democrática y solidaria al capitalismo salvaje que propone el neo-liberalismo en la actualidad. Venezuela hoy nos ofrece algo radicalmente diferente, es "la posibilidad optimista" de una democracia nueva, solidaria, soberana, socialista, moderna, no dogmática y por qué no, ecológica.

Para esto hace falta desarrollar un Liderazgo Transformador: sólo quien se siente amado puede ser educado. Se propone el justo medio entre los dos extremos en pugna: ni moralismo rígido, ni naturalismo hedonista o utilitario, sino del equilibrio entre esos dos extremos. Como estrategias auxiliares se plantea lo que es la Reingeniería de Valores y Virtudes, se analizan las Bases Filosóficas para Jerarquizar los Valores Operantes, Reales; y se propone la sana jerarquía de los Nueve Valores Universales, así como el rechazo de los Contravalores. El libro concluye con una explicación apasionante: ¿Quién Soy Yo? A la vez que se exponen los Fundamentos Filosóficos de la Dignidad de la Persona.
