Book Supply Chain Management with APO

Download or read book Supply Chain Management with APO written by Jörg Thomas Dickersbach and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-11-25 with total page 495 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Advanced Planner and Optimiser (APO) is the software from SAP dedicated to supply chain management. This book addresses the question of how to implement APO in a company. It is written from a long years' experience in implementation projects and provides project managers and team members with the necessary know-how for a successful implementation project. The focus is on introducing modeling approaches and explaining the structure and interdependencies of systems, modules and entities of APO. Another concern is the integration with the R/3 system(s), both technically and from a process point of view. Since APO projects differ significantly from other SAP projects, some key issues and common mistakes concerning project management are covered.

Book Asymptotics of Cubic Number Fields with Bounded Second Successive Minimum of the Trace Form

Download or read book Asymptotics of Cubic Number Fields with Bounded Second Successive Minimum of the Trace Form written by Gero Brockschnieder and published by diplom.de. This book was released on 2018-06-26 with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Algebraic number fields, particularly of small degree n, have been treated in detail in several publications during the last years. The subject that has been investigated the most is the computation of lists of number fields K with field discriminant d(K) less than or equal to a given bound D and the computation of the minimal value of the discriminant for a given degree n (and often also signature (r1, r2)) of the number fields. The distinct cases of different degrees, as well as the different numbers of real and complex embeddings, respectively, are usually treated independently of each other since each case itself offers a broad set of problems and questions. In some of the cases the applied methods and algorithms have been notably improved over the years. Each value for the degree n of the investigated fields represents a huge and interesting set of problems and questions that can be treated on its own. The case we will concentrate on in this thesis is n = 3. Algebraic number fields of degree 3 are often referred to as cubic fields and, in a way, their investigation is easier than the investigation of higher degree fields since the higher the degree of the field, the higher the number of possible signatures (i.e. combinations of real and complex embeddings of the field). In this thesis, we will concentrate only on totally real cubic fields. Totally real fields are those fields K for which each embedding of K into the complex numbers C has an image that lies inside the real numbers R. The purpose of this thesis is to show that the number of isomorphism classes of cubic fields K whose second successive minima M2(K), as introduced by Minkowski, are less than or equal to a given bound X is asymptotically equal (in X) to the number of cubic polynomials defining these fields modulo a relation P which will be explained in detail.

Book Responsible Management of Information Systems

Download or read book Responsible Management of Information Systems written by Bernd Carsten Stahl and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2004-01-01 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This book discusses how information systems can be used and managed in a responsible manner according to a theory that emphasizes the central characteristics of responsibility which is then applied to normative problems in information systems. It is shown that with the use of this theory the central moral and legal problems of information systems such as privacy or intellectual property can be successfully addressed"--Provided by publisher.

Book Cubic Forms and the Circle Method

Download or read book Cubic Forms and the Circle Method written by Tim Browning and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-11-19 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Hardy–Littlewood circle method was invented over a century ago to study integer solutions to special Diophantine equations, but it has since proven to be one of the most successful all-purpose tools available to number theorists. Not only is it capable of handling remarkably general systems of polynomial equations defined over arbitrary global fields, but it can also shed light on the space of rational curves that lie on algebraic varieties. This book, in which the arithmetic of cubic polynomials takes centre stage, is aimed at bringing beginning graduate students into contact with some of the many facets of the circle method, both classical and modern. This monograph is the winner of the 2021 Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer Prize, a prestigious award for books of expository nature presenting the latest developments in an active area of research in mathematics.

Book The Theory of Sprays and Finsler Spaces with Applications in Physics and Biology

Download or read book The Theory of Sprays and Finsler Spaces with Applications in Physics and Biology written by P.L. Antonelli and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present book has been written by two mathematicians and one physicist: a pure mathematician specializing in Finsler geometry (Makoto Matsumoto), one working in mathematical biology (Peter Antonelli), and a mathematical physicist specializing in information thermodynamics (Roman Ingarden). The main purpose of this book is to present the principles and methods of sprays (path spaces) and Finsler spaces together with examples of applications to physical and life sciences. It is our aim to write an introductory book on Finsler geometry and its applications at a fairly advanced level. It is intended especially for graduate students in pure mathemat ics, science and applied mathematics, but should be also of interest to those pure "Finslerists" who would like to see their subject applied. After more than 70 years of relatively slow development Finsler geometry is now a modern subject with a large body of theorems and techniques and has math ematical content comparable to any field of modern differential geometry. The time has come to say this in full voice, against those who have thought Finsler geometry, because of its computational complexity, is only of marginal interest and with prac tically no interesting applications. Contrary to these outdated fossilized opinions, we believe "the world is Finslerian" in a true sense and we will try to show this in our application in thermodynamics, optics, ecology, evolution and developmental biology. On the other hand, while the complexity of the subject has not disappeared, the modern bundle theoretic approach has increased greatly its understandability.

Book Colloidal Crystals of Spheres and Cubes in Real and Reciprocal Space

Download or read book Colloidal Crystals of Spheres and Cubes in Real and Reciprocal Space written by Janne-Mieke Meijer and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-06-11 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis presents an in-depth study on the effect of colloidal particle shape and formation mechanism on self-organization and the final crystal symmetries that can be achieved. It demonstrates how state-of-the-art X-ray diffraction techniques can be used to produce detailed characterizations of colloidal crystal structures prepared using different self-assembly techniques, and how smart systems can be used to investigate defect formation and diffusion in-situ. One of the most remarkable phenomena exhibited by concentrated suspensions of colloidal particles is the spontaneous self-organization into structures with long-range spatial and/or orientational orders. The study also reveals the subtle structural variations that arise by changing the particle shape from spherical to that of a rounded cube. In particular, the roundness of the cube corners, when combined with the self-organization pathway, convective assembly or sedimentation, was shown to influence the final crystal symmetries.
