As the heirs of the French Revolution, Democrats have a history that consists of pandering to mobs, time and again, while Republicans, heirs to the American Revolution, have regularly stood for peaceable order. Hoping to muddy this horrifying truth, liberals slanderously accuse conservatives of their own crimes—assassination plots, conspiracy theorizing, political violence, embrace of the Ku Klux Klan. Coulter shows that the truth is the opposite: Political violence—mob violence—is always a Democratic affair. Surveying two centuries of mob movements, Coulter demonstrates that the mob is always destructive. And yet, she argues, beginning with the civil rights movement in the sixties, Americans have lost their natural, inherited aversion to mobs. The crowd kept on increasing each new day till we had no more space for people to stand and listen.The man was up to his billing and his message kept the people at the edge of their seats.However, two weeks after he left, I found that instead of increasing, our ministry was fast losing members. In fact we crumbled into factions for no reason.In the course of my damage control, I discovered that the guest speaker I had a week before was the problem. Further investigation showed that all the ministries he had visited in our area had the same problem - we were all fragmented.Please do not ask me what the problem was, because even up to this moment of writing, I cannot put my finger on the main issue. The only thing I can tell you is that all the churches he visited, had issues that led to fragmentation.It might have been a case of pollution and evil deposit. Suddenly, all the people began to find enough faults with their local pastors and to the extent that they began to leave in droves!Be careful! One can never be too careful when it comes to things of God because the people that God has led to you, He will ask you to give account of. Remember the parable of the ten talents? And each time the disciples went out in the time of Jesus Christ, he asked them for an account on returning. Do not forget that to whom much is given, much is expected. The Bible says in Mathew 26:41[a] that we should: "Watch and pray that we fall into temptation...."Remember that the Bible mentions repeatedly that we should beware of the many wolves in sheep's clothing now masquerading as prophets and pastors. While there may not be any science to know the mind's construction from the face, to borrow from William Shakespeare, there are some people who case are so obvious that this book can only serve as a reminder concerning them.

At least watch the scene where Howard Beale rants for us all to stick our collective heads out of our windows and scream, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!" When you've seen it you'll understand what I mean when I say that's where I am. Not only from suffering through a year of the Trump presidency and watching how shamelessly the Grand Old Party grovels at his feet, but because I've now witnessed the depths to which so many dangerously hypocritical Republicans will sink.It might be hubris, but that seems to be the in thing these days, so please indulge me in thinking that I might have some wisdom to impart. During my gradual journey into the online political comment sections, I certainly didn't think of myself as a troll, or that I was on my way to becoming one. Cut to years later following many fruitless encounters and I've found very little policy substance is known amongst many of those who vote for the one with the R by their name. Heavy charge I know, but my part-time journey became a decade long quest to find what I felt had become my unicorn; a conservative who not only understood the policies they claimed to support, but one who could rationally explain why I should support them without attacking me as being a "godless liberal." I'm still looking.Over time I came to see online trolls as the precursors to American politics, their comments often becoming the very talking points used by the GOP. Similar to the way FOX News predicted what Trump would have tweeted about that day. In this layman's opinion, political comment sections are the canary in the coal mine that our society needs to pay attention to. It's the unfiltered look at how people talk to each other when they think they're truly free to speak their mind. It's also a glimpse into how people selectively decide what or who to believe based on their chosen media consumption, and how they easily dismiss any facts that challenge their pre-conceived notions, which by definition become intentionally uninformed beliefs.

A stone when struck resists. If its resistance is greater than the force of the blow struck, it remains outwardly unchanged. Otherwise, it is shattered into smaller bits. Never does the stone attempt to react in such a way that it may maintain itself against the blow, much less so as to render the blow a contributing factor to its own continued action. While the living thing may easily be crushed by superior force, it none the less tries to turn the energies which act upon it into means of its own further existence. If it cannot do so, it does not just split into smaller pieces (at least in the higher forms of life), but loses its identity as a living thing. As long as it endures, it struggles to use surrounding energies in its own behalf. It uses light, air, moisture, and the material of soil. To say that it uses them is to say that it turns them into means of its own conservation. As long as it is growing, the energy it expends in thus turning the environment to account is more than compensated for by the return it gets: it grows. Understanding the word "control" in this sense, it may be said that a living being is one that subjugates and controls for its own continued activity the energies that would otherwise use it up. Life is a self-renewing process through action upon the environment.
