We go through so much without understanding that things don’t just happen by coincidence. Deliverance 101 is your foundation for deliverance. You learn that submitting to people and things, while broken, leads to evil spirits and demonic manifestation wreaking havoc in your life. The momentous entertainment that the devil brings to lure you isn’t fair; he plays to keep you in bondage. This book will establish your freedom. I have learned that deliverance is not a moment, but a lifestyle: you can only go as far as your deliverance. Book excerpt: DELIVERANCE IS THE CHILDREN'S BREAD: GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD. In my early years with the Lord there was one scripture that resounded within me. It was Mark 16: 15-20. This word is not for the select few, but it is for every believer. I believed what Christ said we could do if we believed. I wanted to see the power of God like that in my life. The Holy Ghost became my teacher. One of his jobs is to lead the believers into all truth and show them things to come. I had to allow the word of God to become life in me and that life has become the spiritual freedom and peace I longed to experience and still experience. I believed there was more, because Christ came to deliver and set us free from sin and death. My desire for you is to be set free from all demonic influence and oppression that hinders you from walking in and possessing your God given rights with all kingdom authority in the earth! And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (I Thessalonians 5:23).I chose these specific topics because we can not be unfamiliar of Satan's schemes and tactics. We are seated with Christ above all principality, authority and power. The enemy would love nothing better than to keep God's people ignorant of how he operates so that he may continue to go undetected thus continuing to go about stealing, killing and destroying. Beloved, I encourage you to not put this book down but use this as a guide for your personal deliverance and healing. Search out the word, ask the Holy Ghost to lead you into all truth! The truth will make you FREE!! The word of God says "study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth," 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV; "believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world" 1 John 4:1. I AM CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST: NEVERTHELESS I LIVE; YET NOT I, BUT CHRIST LIVETH IN ME: AND THE LIFE WHICH I NOW LIVE IN THE FLESH I LIVE BY THE FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD, WHO LOVED ME, AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR ME.GALATIANS 2:20 KJV

Book excerpt: Everything You Need to Know About Demons, What They Are, How They Operate, Demonic Possession, Demonic Oppression, and How to Cast Out Demons and Obtain Deliverance for Yourself and for Your Loved Ones. When it comes to the subject of demons, Christians fall into two equal and opposite extremes. The first extreme is believing that demons don't exist or that they don't have any power at all. While the second extreme is believing too much in them and attributing every problem in life to them. We need a balance between these two extremes, and this book provides the right balance needed to deal with demons, overcome them, and live a victorious life. In this Bible study, you will learn what demons are, their origins, their names, operations, and how to deal with them. You will learn that while demons are real and can cause serious trouble, we are not to be afraid of them because God has placed us in a more powerful place of authority than them. You will learn what demonic possession and demonic oppression mean, and their difference. You will learn how to discern or know when a problem is a demonic possession or demonic oppression and not just physical health or other issues. More importantly, this book will arm you with the truth, scriptures, and prayers to cast out demons, and obtain personal deliverance. Here's what you will learn... 1. What Are Demons? 2. How Did Demons Originate? 3. Old Testament References of Demons 4. What Jesus Said About Demons 5. Recognizing Demons by Their Names and by Their Works 6. Works of Demons 7. How Demons Operate 8. Book Deliverance Training Manual 101

Download or read book Deliverance Training Manual 101 written by Robert Summers and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-03-02 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deliverance was a core ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ that was passed on to the His apostles and disciples. Believers today have been commanded in scripture to cast out devils; however we find most churches don't practice this fundamental ministry or provide the training necessary to properly address demonic strongholds in people's lives. Unfortunately most believers today cannot recognize demons, evil spirits or strongholds present in people's lives. If they do, they lack the training necessary to get the people in bondage delivered from the enemy. In many cases victims of demonic strongholds are brought to the Pastor and typically "counseling" replaces biblically based deliverance ministry. In our modern society many are coming into our churches from the occult, witchcraft, spiritualism and the new age movement. Others come in with emotional issues and wounds that have built up over decades. The church must be properly trained in the area of deliverance to address this. The purpose of this training manual is to equip you in the area of casting out demons. This manual is the result of extensive research and hours studying on the topic of deliverance.

Book The Dirty South

Download or read book The Dirty South written by James A. Crank and published by LSU Press. This book was released on 2023-11-15 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Dirty South examines the shifting significances of the South as a constructed, fantasized region in the American psyche, particularly its frequent association with tropes of dirt that emphasize soil, garbage, trash, grit, litter, mud, swamp water, slime, and pollution. Beginning with iconic works from the 1970s such as Deliverance and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, James A. Crank traces the image of a “dirty” South into the twenty-first century to explore the social, political, and psychological effects of the region’s hold on the imaginations of southerners and nonsoutherners alike. With a focus on media forms through which southern identity gets articulated and questioned—including horror movies, Swamp Thing comics, and popular music by artists such as Waylon Jennings and OutKast—The Dirty South probes the sustained fascination with southern dirtiness while reflecting on its causes and consequences since the end of the civil rights era. Highlighting the period from 1970 to 2020, during which the South began to represent several new possible identities for the nation as a whole and for the area itself, Crank considers the ways that southerners have used depictions of dirt to create and police boundaries and to contest those boundaries. Each chapter pairs prominent literary or cultural texts from the 1970s with more contemporary works, such as Jordan Peele’s film Get Out, which recycle similar investments or, critically, challenge the inherent whiteness of the earlier images. By historicizing fantasies of the region and connecting them to the first decades of the twenty-first century, The Dirty South reveals that notions about southern dirtiness proliferate not because they lend authenticity or relevancy to the U.S. South, but because they aid so conspicuously in the zombified work of tethering investors (real and imagined) to a graveyard of ideas.

Book Summer of Deliverance

Download or read book Summer of Deliverance written by Christopher Dickey and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2010-10-12 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Summer of Deliverance is a powerful and moving memoir of anger, love, and reconciliation between a son and his father. Hailed as a literary genius of his generation, James Dickey created his art and lived his life with a ferocious passion. He was a heavy drinker, a destructive husband and father, a poet of grace and sensitivity, and, after the publication and subsequent film of his novel, Deliverance, a wildly popular literary star. Drawing on letters, notebooks, diaries, and his explicit conversations with his father, Christopher Dickey has crafted a superb memoir of the corrosive effects of fame, a moving remembrance of a crisis that united a family, and an inspiring celebration of love between father and son.

Book excerpt: * * * Special 75th Anniversary Edition * * * Hugh Sebag-Montefiore's Dunkirk: Fight to the Last Man tells the story of the rescue in May 1940 of British soldiers fleeing capture and defeat by the Nazis at Dunkirk. Dunkirk was not just about what happened at sea and on the beaches. The evacuation would never have succeeded had it not been for the tenacity of the British soldiers who stayed behind to ensure they got away. Men like Sergeant Major Gus Jennings who died smothering a German stick bomb in the church at Esquelbecq in an effort to save his comrades, and Captain Marcus Ervine-Andrews VC who single-handedly held back a German attack on the Dunkirk perimeter thereby allowing the British line to form up behind him. Told to stand and fight to the last man, these brave few battalions fought in whatever manner they could to buy precious time for the evacuation. Outnumbered and outgunned, they launched spectacular and heroic attacks time and again, despite ferocious fighting and the knowledge that for many only capture or death would end their struggle. 'A searing story . . . both meticulous military history and a deeply moving testimony to the extraordinary personal bravery of individual soldiers' Tim Gardam, The Times 'Sebag-Montefiore tells [the story] with gusto, a remarkable attention to detail and an inexhaustible appetite for tracking down the evidence' Richard Ovary, Telegraph Hugh Sebag-Montefiore was a barrister before becoming a journalist and then an author. He wrote the best-selling Enigma: The Battle for the Code. One of his ancestors was evacuated from Dunkirk.

Book Post World War II Masculinities in British and American Literature and Culture

Download or read book Post World War II Masculinities in British and American Literature and Culture written by Stefan Horlacher and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-04-08 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Analyzing literary texts, plays, films and photographs within a transatlantic framework, this volume explores the inseparable and mutually influential relationship between different forms of national identity in Great Britain and the United States and the construction of masculinity in each country. The contributors take up issues related to how certain kinds of nationally specific masculine identifications are produced, how these change over time, and how literature and other forms of cultural representation eventually question and deconstruct their own myths of masculinity. Focusing on the period from the end of World War II to the 1980s, the essays each take up a topic with particular cultural and historical resonance, whether it is hypermasculinity in early cold war films; the articulation of male anxieties in plays by Arthur Miller, David Mamet and Sam Shepard; the evolution of photographic depictions of masculinity from the 1960s to the 1980s; or the representations of masculinity in the fiction of American and British writers such as Patricia Highsmith, Richard Yates, John Braine, Martin Amis, Evan S. Connell, James Dickey, John Berger, Philip Roth, Frank Chin, and Maxine Hong Kingston. The editors and contributors make a case for the importance of understanding the larger context for the emergence of more pluralistic, culturally differentiated and ultimately transnational masculinities, arguing that it is possible to conceptualize and emphasize difference and commonality simultaneously.

Book Charismatic Healers in Contemporary Africa

Download or read book Charismatic Healers in Contemporary Africa written by Sandra Fancello and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2022-12-15 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on ethnographic studies conducted in several African countries, this volume analyses the phenomenon of deliverance – which is promoted both in charismatic churches and in Islam as a weapon against witchcraft – in order to clarify the political dimensions of spiritual warfare in contemporary African societies. Deliverance from evil is part and parcel of the contemporary discourse on the struggle against witchcraft in most African contexts. However, contributors show how its importance extends beyond this, highlighting a pluralism of approaches to deliverance in geographically distant religious movements, which coexist in Africa. Against this background, the book reflects on the responsibilities of Pentecostal deliverance politics within the condition of 'epistemic anxiety' of contemporary African societies – to shed light on complex relational dimensions in which individual deliverance is part of a wider social and spiritual struggle. Spanning across the study of religion, healing and politics, this book contributes to ongoing debates about witchcraft and deliverance in Africa.
