Book Dedication over Education

Download or read book Dedication over Education written by Ezekiel Nero and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2023-02-03 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You needed to read and write for every career or you didn’t get one, even though I was charismatic and great with people that didn’t count. But it all led to where I was today. A successful businessman with plenty of regrets but time to prove he was capable to himself. I began to realise my own worth and make myself proud. Yes, I wasn’t great at reading or writing but it didn’t mean that I couldn’t hold down a great business of my own. Anyone can make it. Dyslexia is not something that is supposed to hold you back, it is just an obstacle that you have to find a way around in order to reach the finish line. It doesn’t make you dumb or stupid to have a learning disability, it just means that you are skilled in other areas. Just remember that sometimes dedication is just as good as education. I had many doors slammed in my face over the years but I created my own doors from scratch and walked straight through them. Never ever give up on yourself, be successful for you.

This book was released on 2018-03-08 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. The first resource of its kind to address this specialized area of expertise, Clinical Nurse Educator Competencies equips educators with a mastery of the evidence-based competencies and tasks needed to confidently guide students through learning experiences in clinical settings and to produce competent nurses ready for practice. Detailed analysis of each competency synthesizes relevant literature and reflects the insight of the NLN Task Group on Clinical Nurse Educators, providing an authoritative framework to help educators prepare students for the rigors of clinical nursing practice in today’s changing healthcare environment. “This synthesis and validation of academic clinical nurse educator competencies defines a scope of practice for the role of the academic clinical nurse educator. The results provide a standard of excellence central to the performance expectations associated with this specialized role.”

Book The Rebirth of Education

Download or read book The Rebirth of Education written by Lant Pritchett and published by CGD Books. This book was released on 2013-09-30 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite great progress around the world in getting more kids into schools, too many leave without even the most basic skills. In India’s rural Andhra Pradesh, for instance, only about one in twenty children in fifth grade can perform basic arithmetic. The problem is that schooling is not the same as learning. In The Rebirth of Education, Lant Pritchett uses two metaphors from nature to explain why. The first draws on Ori Brafman and Rod Beckstrom’s book about the difference between centralized and decentralized organizations, The Starfish and the Spider. Schools systems tend be centralized and suffer from the limitations inherent in top-down designs. The second metaphor is the concept of isomorphic mimicry. Pritchett argues that many developing countries superficially imitate systems that were successful in other nations— much as a nonpoisonous snake mimics the look of a poisonous one. Pritchett argues that the solution is to allow functional systems to evolve locally out of an environment pressured for success. Such an ecosystem needs to be open to variety and experimentation, locally operated, and flexibly financed. The only main cost is ceding control; the reward would be the rebirth of education suited for today’s world.

Book Black Lives Matter at School

Download or read book Black Lives Matter at School written by Denisha Jones and published by Haymarket Books. This book was released on 2020-12-01 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This inspiring collection of accounts from educators and students is “an essential resource for all those seeking to build an antiracist school system” (Ibram X. Kendi). Since 2016, the Black Lives Matter at School movement has carved a new path for racial justice in education. A growing coalition of educators, students, parents and others have established an annual week of action during the first week of February. This anthology shares vital lessons that have been learned through this important work. In this volume, Bettina Love makes a powerful case for abolitionist teaching, Brian Jones looks at the historical context of the ongoing struggle for racial justice in education, and prominent teacher union leaders discuss the importance of anti-racism in their unions. Black Lives Matter at School includes essays, interviews, poems, resolutions, and more from participants across the country who have been building the movement on the ground.
