Nowadays, many of the management tools and techniques that people use cannot meet the challenges of complex decision-making problems in service firms. This dissertation, therefore, explores two research streams, service firm selection, and service technology planning. The first research stream, the service firm selection problem, is to identify the optimal service firm, which satisfies several predefined selection factors. This selection process typically includes two major stages. During the first stage, the selection criteria identify a limited number of candidate service firms. The second stage involves a detailed examination of candidate service firms to find the most appropriate one. Understanding how to optimize decisions in each of these two selection stages motivates this dissertation's first and second parts. The first part of the dissertation focuses on the first stage of service firm selection, "how to determine the selection criteria in the decision-making problems." The model is developed based on latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). We validate our model by comparing the ranking results with reviews in TripAdvisor.com. The second part of the dissertation is relevant to the second stage, "how to select the optimal service firm." We build a network model based on data envelopment analysis (DEA) and the weighted hyperlink-induced topic search (HITS) algorithm and demonstrate its applicability by case analysis. The second research stream, the service technology planning problem, strategically selects technologies to invest in the service firm, which is discussed in the third part of this dissertation. We construct a network model based on HITS and PageRank algorithms and then present its application with a numerical example.

To address the aggregation and distance measurement of structure-heterogeneous evaluation information, we propose a fusion method based on trust and behavior analysis. Then, two clustering algorithms are put forward, including trust Cop-K-means clustering algorithm and compatibility distance-oriented off-center clustering algorithm. The above clustering algorithms emphasize the similarity of opinions and social relationships as important measurement attributes of clustering. Finally, this book explores the impact of trust loss originating from social relationships on the CRP and develops two consensus-reaching models, namely the improved minimum-cost consensus model that takes into account voluntary trust loss and the punishment-driven consensus-reaching model. Some case studies, a large number of numerical experiments, and comparative analyses are provided in this book to demonstrate the characteristics and advantages of the proposed methods and models. The authors encourage researchers, students, and enterprises engaged in social network analysis, group decision-making, multi-agent collaborative decision-making, and large-scale data processing to pay attention to the proposals presented in this book. After reading this book, the authors expect readers to have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of social network large-scale decision-making. Social networks describe the complex relationships of individuals and groups in multiple overlapping contexts. Influence in a social network impacts behavior and decision making in every setting in which individuals participate. This study defines a methodology for modeling and analyzing this complex behavior using a Flow-Model representation. Multiple objectives in an influencing effort targeted at a social network are modeled using Goal Programming. Value Focused Thinking is applied to model influence and predict decisions based on the reaction of the psychological state of individuals to environmental stimuli. This research advances the science of Operations Research and its application to broad classes of problems dealing with social networks. Application areas span academic, private sector, and government analysis. Sample cases are used in this research from the private sector and government. Specifically, influencing foreign government decision making is demonstrated for the case of Iran. Counter-terrorism applications are demonstrated for a sample case using Usama Bin Ladin. The contributions of this research serve private and public sector users.
