Book Dear Jacob

Download or read book Dear Jacob written by Sabelo Soweto Mandlanzi and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2013-04-09 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dear reader, The fact that Jacob Zuma is the twelfth president of ANC and Jacob had twelve sons makes me sigh because folks may lie but numbers dont. Besides, Jacobs successor was Joseph while Jacob Zumas brother is Joseph, now this offsets my axis. My reasons to conduct an audit on these signs of fate finds more evidencecould Jacobs life be the pieces of the puzzle of Jacob Zumas that weve been looking for? What you see right now is the answer. Dear Jacob is a radical connection between these two Jacobs: the grandson of Abraham and the honorable president of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Jacob G. Zuma. This is billion miles ahead of inspiration, a healthy root of the political expertise and leadership evolution. But here I focus on presenting Jacob as Jacob Zuma, human yet divine, dejected, rejected, and despised, but chosen. In this letter, the worst and the best moments of Jacob are prognostic to the life of Jacob Zuma, but negativity is to me a myth because positivity is my path. The story that brings nemesis to the enemies of positive reception is found from Genesis 25:19 and beyond in the King James Bible. I have cared for the meanings on the wall because words can start a war. Not only will you see Jacob Zuma different after reading this book, but you should be able to predict the next events that might occur as the clock of life moves toward the beginning.

Book Finding Jacob Wetterling

Download or read book Finding Jacob Wetterling written by Robert M. Dudley and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2016-11-10 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In October 1989, 11-year-old Jacob Wetterling was abducted near his home in the small town of St. Joseph, Minnesota. Despite an unparalleled effort to find him, his whereabouts remained a mystery for 27 years--until his kidnapper, arrested on another charge, confessed to Wetterling's murder and led authorities to his buried remains in September 2016. Wetterling's disappearance--and the national media attention that followed--had far-reaching effects. No longer was small-town America considered safe from the exploitation of children. In 1993, Congress passed the "Jacob Wetterling Act," setting up a nationwide registry for offenders convicted of crimes against children. Based in part on earlier publications by the author, this detailed account chronicles the decades-long search for Wetterling and his abductor. Long-overlooked names and information that pointed the way to solving the case are brought to the forefront of the investigation.

Book Jacob s Ladder

  • Author : Joel Yanofsky
  • Publisher : The Porcupine's Quill
  • Release : 1997
  • ISBN : 9780889841918

Download or read book Jacob s Ladder written by Joel Yanofsky and published by The Porcupine's Quill. This book was released on 1997 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A romantic comedy written with the authenticity of a memoir, Jacob's Ladder is entertaining and intelligent. Full of wit, slapstick and heart, it conjures up the great screwball comedies of the 1940s. Joel Yanofsky writes about a community he knows intimately -- anglophone Montréal -- a community which has, over the years, both changed dramatically and dramatically resisted change. The same is true of Yanofsky's narrator, Jacob Glassman, a thirtysomething Oliver Twist stuck in the suburban home he grew up in and clinging to the status quo for dear life. Not easy to do for a man who is pursuing two women at the same time and who is caught up in a shifting series of love triangles. When it comes to craziness, Jacob points out, there's an awfully wide margin for error. In Jacob's Ladder, that margin is stretched to the limit by a cast of hilarious, haywire characters: rogue real estate agents, sentimental adulterers, an obese shrink, an agoraphobic travel agent, a transsexual newspaper editor, and a proselytzing rabbinical student with his sights set on Jacob's bewildered soul.

Book Dear Jacob

Download or read book Dear Jacob written by Patty Wetterling and published by . This book was released on 2023-10-17 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With stunning detail, Patty Wetterling shares the untold story of the twenty-seven-year-long search for her son Jacob--and its astonishing conclusion. On October 22, 1989, in the small town of St. Joseph, Minnesota, eleven-year-old Jacob Wetterling was kidnapped at gunpoint. Twenty-seven years later, on September 3, 2016, Danny Heinrich led authorities to the boy's remains. What lies between is the riveting story of the search for Jacob Wetterling, told by his mother, Patty. With her trademark candor and down-to-earth honesty, she details the investigation as it unfolds, discusses her family's struggles, and shows how she maintained her energy and optimism. For her own survival, Patty chose to focus on hope. She became a speaker, trainer, and national advocate for missing children. Her lobbying work took her to Washington, DC, where in 1994 Congress passed the Jacob Wetterling Act, establishing a national sex offender registry. In 2013 the Wetterlings were joined on their quest for answers by two unlikely allies--a local blogger and a plumber. Joy Baker convinced Jared Scheierl to come forward and share his story about being kidnapped from a nearby town and sexually assaulted the same year as Jacob. Together, these two uncovered a string of similar assaults that had never been fully investigated. The combined efforts of this foursome led to the breakthrough that solved the case. In Minnesota and beyond, Jacob's kidnapping forever changed the way parents raised their children. Dear Jacob offers not only a behind-the-scenes account of one of America's most notorious crimes, but also a historical account of what has been done in the years since Jacob's kidnapping to combat the problem of missing and exploited children. In this powerful memoir--written with Joy Baker, the local blogger--Patty Wetterling finally tells readers what happened, and shows how in searching for Jacob, she found her purpose.

Book excerpt: "The army makes a man hard sometimes. I remember a young girl no more than ten who gave me a glass of buttermilk just outside of Chancellorsville. I still remember that. I guess that’s all my life is. Some pictures fading out behind me, and there’s not much before me." Reisa listened as he spoke. She knew that he was a man who longed for goodness, and longed for friends, and perhaps even a wife and family. Finally she said, "I hope you find your way, Ben. God is real, and love is real." Fleeing a bloody pogrom that threatens their tiny Russian village, Reisa Dimitri and her grandfather, Jacob, sail the ocean to a new life in America. They are swiftly embraced by New York’s Jewish community. But God has other plans that will call them far from the familiar warmth and ways of their culture. Accompanied by their huge, gentle friend, Dov, Reisa and Jacob set out to make their living as traveling merchants in the post-Civil-War South. There, as new and unexpected friendships unfold, the aged Jacob searches for answers concerning the nature of the Messiah he has spent a lifetime looking and longing for. And there, the beautiful Reisa finds herself strangely drawn to Ben Driver--a man with a checkered past, a painful present, and a deadly enemy who will stop at nothing to destroy him. Fast-paced and tender by turn, Jacob’s Way is a heartwarming novel about human love, divine faithfulness, and the restoration of things that had seemed broken beyond repair.

Jacob’s carpentry business was successful and he was closer than ever to his siblings. Life was good. 1911, a time when Sir Robert Laird Borden was Prime Minister and King George V was on the throne, life in the Canadian Prairies wasn’t easy, but Jacob was no stranger to hard work and integrity was his middle name. Jacob and Abigail’s happiness wasn’t everlasting. An abrupt illness, extreme weather, unexpected debt; each obstacle more difficult than the last. Jacob was determined and trusted in the Lord, but not everyone had his faith. While Jacob thinks he can help anyone who is in need, he comes face to face with the harsh facts when he too has to rely on others for help. How will Jacob overcome the things he cannot change? When his faith is tested, can he continue to trust that God will never fail? Follow Jacob and Abigail and their family back to Abbington Pickets through early 20th century Saskatchewan and their intriguing story of a carpenter who followed his heart in a small community only to find more than he expected.
