Book AIR CRASH INVESTIGATIONS DEADLY MISTAKES The Crash of Air China Flight 129

Download or read book AIR CRASH INVESTIGATIONS DEADLY MISTAKES The Crash of Air China Flight 129 written by George Cramoisi, editor and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On April 15, 2002, Air China flight 129, a Boeing 767-200ER, operated by Air China, en route from Beijing, China to Busan, Korea, crashed on Mt. Dotdae, near Gimhae Airport, Busan. Of the 166 persons on board, 37 persons survived the crash, while 129 occupants were killed. The Korean Aviation Accident Investigation Board (KAAIB) determined that the probable cause of the crash was pilot error due to poor crew resource management and lost situational awareness during the circling approach of the runway. The Chinese investigation team pointed out that the Korean ATC was not fully licensed and mistakenly directed the airliner to descend to a wrong altitude and that the airport did not inform the crew of the weather conditions at the time. A contributing factor was that the airline made all announcements in Chinese and English, while most passengers were Korean.

Book The One Deadly Mistake We All Make

Download or read book The One Deadly Mistake We All Make written by Terri J. Gerner and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2008-08 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Bible is the Word of God. In it He makes known to man His Character and Will. It is given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is profitable to all, teaching men what to believe, showing them in what they are wrong, instructing them in what is right. Although written by men, God directed them what to write and how to write, that as a rule of faith and guide to practice it might be perfect. A knowledge of this book is more to be desired than fine gold, for in understanding, believing and obeying it there is great reward, both here and hereafter." Quoted from "An Introductory History of The Manuscript and Early Printed Editions of the Holy Bible" (1876). The History of Man The Father they chose to disobey The Prophet they would not hear The Teacher they refused to be instructed by. From my earliest memory in time, I sensed things were not right. The words people spoke and the things they valued didn't make much sense to me. When I arrived at the age of legal adulthood I knew my life journey needed to focus on finding the answers to the "whys" of life-so I put myself through college, traveled, listened to the life stories of hundreds if not thousands of individuals (their true life story-not the story they play out in public), and studied the history and the basic core beliefs of established religions and famous philosophers. It wasn't until I took the time to study the "Book of Life" itself that I discovered the answers to the "whys" of life. I discovered The One Deadly Mistake. We All Make.

Book Deadly Mistakes

Download or read book Deadly Mistakes written by The Cox Brothers and published by Author House. This book was released on 2011-03-18 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When it comes to humor, Americans are said to hold nothing sacred. Deadly Mistakes: Real Obituaries Gone Amusingly Wrong is an example of that sentiment. Given our near obsession with fame and celebrity, it should come as no surprise that ordinary people would go to extraordinary lengths to be considered noteworthy. Deadly Mistakes provides the evidence in the obituaries of the unfamous. Average folks are remembered by family and friends in send-offs that unintentionally go off the rails in amusing and bizarre ways. What's to be said of someone whose family wants him to be remembered for inventing an electric pickle...that stinks? Of someone who, not wanting to give up his love of uniforms, became a campus police officer? Or of someone who achieved the mysterious title of Puissant Sovereign of the Red Cross of Constantine? Plenty. All this and more is included in Deadly Mistakes: Real Obituaries Gone Amusingly Wrong. These obituaries have not been edited (except for length and to remove last names). They stand on their own as commentary on the human need to find meaning in it all somehow, some way. Deadly Mistakes should remind readers of one thing: it's best to go out laughing. Just ask the guy whose memorial service was held at Hammerhead's Bar, just east of The Strip, in Vegas.

Book Deadly Thirst

  • ISBN : 1412005523
  • Pages : 360 pages

Download or read book Deadly Thirst written by Donna Goodenough and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2003 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deadly Thirst is the true story of four-year-old foster child Andy Setzer, who was murdered in Perris California August 2, 1999. Deadly Thirst follows Andy from conception to burial and reveals, in riveting investigative style, the series of deadly blunders that led Riverside County Child Protection officials to herd him into a one-way slaughter chute of foster care and straight into the hands of death. Andy's story is a frightening journey into the grim, dark side of foster care. The author paints a gripping psychological portrait of Andy's killer, Theresa Barroso and her morass of lies as she strives to place the blame solely upon her withdrawn and mentally challenged husband. Equally compelling is a behind-the-scenes look into the investigation that revealed Barroso's habitual need to vent her anger on a defenseless child. The sensational courtroom drama is undeniably graphic, an absolute page-turner, resulting in a verdict that will shock even the most ardent readers of chilling true-crime. Includes thirteen pages of evidentiary documents and crime scene photos.

Book Creating a Nonviolent Culture in a Modern Organization

Download or read book Creating a Nonviolent Culture in a Modern Organization written by Miriam Baermann and published by Texianer Verlag. This book was released on 2021-12-21 with total page 125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Increasing violence amongst youth in society, burn-out as a widespread disease and scandals in companies are only some of the headlines which appear regularly in the news media. Politics scarcely seems to have any success in fighting violence and injustice in society and in the world. The thesis here suggests that people do not have to wait for a savior such as a politician but that everyone can contribute to a less violent, more peaceful and just world. It will be demonstrated that organizations have an enormous influence on society and this book deals with the possibilities which an organization has to contribute to a less violent culture. By the term “organization” all forms of organized groups of people who come together for a certain purpose are meant, for example schools, clubs, public social aids and others, whilst we mainly concentrate on companies in our research. The intention is to focus particularly on the issues related to the theme of creating a nonviolent culture in the workplace. In the first part on culture, we deal with several questions regarding culture, including such fundamental questions as What is organizational culture?, What are the dimensions of culture? and is it possible to in fluence it and if yes, how does it work? In the second part, we take a look at the terms violence and nonviolence and a survey of how these aspects occur in society and organizations is made. The third part is the largest and deals with the qualities of leadership and with the organizational conditions which are necessary to create a nonviolent culture. We hope it will become clearer to the reader that nonviolence is not a strategy or a formula to be used. It can appear very different in different situations. There are component elements which can promote it and there are certain principles that cannot be violated if one wishes to establish true nonviolence. Nevertheless, there is no one patent formula nor one exclusively correct way of creating a nonviolent culture. It requires considerable creativity and endurance to create it and can take a variety of forms.

Book Better By Mistake

Download or read book Better By Mistake written by Alina Tugend and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2011-03-17 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times columnist Alina Tugend delivers an eye-opening big idea: Embracing mistakes can make us smarter, healthier, and happier in every facet of our lives. In this persuasive book, journalist Alina Tugend examines the delicate tension between what we’re told—we must make mistakes in order to learn—and the reality—we often get punished for them. She shows us that mistakes are everywhere, and when we acknowledge and identify them correctly, we can improve not only ourselves, but our families, our work, and the world around us as well. Bold and dynamic, insightful and provocative, Better by Mistake turns our cultural wisdom on its head to illustrate the downside of striving for perfection and the rewards of acknowledging and accepting mistakes and embracing the imperfection in all of us.
