Download or read book Life in Christ written by William Robert West and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2015-09-29 with total page 705 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What do you believe about souls? There are many very different doctrines taught in the world today concerning souls that are believed to be in all humans. By most a soul is believed to be something that is wholly apart from the person a soul is in; that a soul is something that is that is believed to be complete in its self without the person; it will live after the person it is in is dead; it is believed that a soul will exist forever without the person; it will never be dead; therefore, a soul cannot be resurrected from the dead. It is believed that a soul must live someplace forever, and it will live either in Heaven or Hell even if there is no resurrection. The doctrine of unconditional immortality of a deathless soul being in a person, and that soul leaving that person at the death of the person makes it impossible for Christ to have give His life to save that soul from death; if a soul had immortality it would already have life and could never not have life; all Christ could do is give it a reward or punish it.
Download or read book Line Upon Line written by Tommy Robbins and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2011-08-15 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Line Upon Line" contains the writings of Tommy Robbins, having been written over the past 17 years. While Tommy now sits at the throne of the Lamb singing a new song to perfection, it is the same song which he labored to sing in the writings which you now hold. The love that constrained him in his writing shows a profound insight in exposing the things of Christ and the peace of the believer found in Him. Expecting only those of his congregation to read his writing, he faithfully worked week-in and week-out to "lay precept upon precept; Line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little" (Isaiah 28:10) to comfort God's people, and to "cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins" (Isaiah 40:1).
Download or read book The Principles of the Doctrine of Christ written by J. J. Hall and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-03-11 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Principles of the Doctrine of Christ, the author has provided a Study Guide and commentary to encourage the understanding of the foundational tenets of Hebrews 6: 1 & 2 and facilitate their role in the believer's life. The Study Guide looks to transcend differences and promote an applied theology perspective to the subject. The goal is not to solicit conformity to a specific denominational creed, but to chart the growth events ahead for new believers, and that have been obfuscated in many seasoned Christians. The overall purpose is to articulate a clearly delineated path for the individual to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. It is the first in a series designed to orient new converts to a fruitful walk in the Lord, so that they build their faith according to the pattern revealed in the Scriptures.

Download or read book Know sound doctrine of Christ in order to grow in faith and in communion with God written by Alain Michel FOPOUSSI DJOUAMEDA and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2020-03-25 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Being in sound doctrine of Christ is fundamental. According to the Word of God,being a Christian is perfectly synonymous with being in sound doctrine of Christ. To obey the Gospel of Christ is to receive his teaching. In these end times when the subtle and refined counterfeit of Christian faith is spreading everywhere and when we are constantly subjected to all kinds of trials and attacks more difficult than the others, it is more than ever necessary, for any true Christian, to know sound doctrine so as not to be swept away by foreign doctrines, to fight the good fight of faith and to beware of false prophets and false anointed men, these voracious wolves who spy on us and look for favourable opportunities to be able to devour us. But knowing sound doctrine of Christ is above all necessary for our spiritual growth in order to have an ever deeper communion with our Lord and to get closer and closer to spiritual maturity.
Download or read book The Mystery of Romans written by Mark D. Nanos and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 1996-01-01 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Paul's letter to the Romans, says Nanos, is an example of Jewish correspondence, addressing believers in Jesus who are steeped in Jewish ways-whether of Jewish or gentile origin. Arguing against those who think Paul was an apostate from Judaism, Nanos maintains Paul's continuity with his Jewish heritage. Several key arguments here are: Those addressed in Paul's letter were still an integral part of the Roman synagogue communities. The "weak" are non- Christian Jews, while the "strong" included both Jewish and gentile converts to belief in Jesus. Paul as a practicing devout Jew insists on the rules of behavior for "the righteous gentiles." Christian subordination to authorities (Romans 13:1-7) is intended to enforce submission to leaders of the synagogues, not Roman government officials. Paul behaves in a way to confirm the very Jewish portrait of him in Acts: going first to the synagogues.

Download or read book Echoes of a Prophet written by Gary T. Manning Jr. and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2004-12-01 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Echoes of a Prophet examines intertextual connections to Ezekiel found in John and in Second Temple literature. The Dead Sea Scrolls contain many allusions to a number of Ezekiel's oracles, while other Second Temple works refer to only a few of Ezekiel's oracles, and those only rarely. In each case, Manning examines the evidence for the presence of the allusions, studies the implied interpretational methods, and comments on the function of the allusion in advancing the author's ideas. He also analyzes John's allusions to Ezekiel: the good shepherd, the vine, the opened heavens, imagery from the "dry bones" vision, and water symbolism. He observes that John has a few unique tendencies: he alludes to all five of Ezekiel's "oracles of hope" and primarily uses that imagery to describe the giving of the Holy Spirit and new life through Jesus.
Download or read book Religions Spirituality and Humanity written by Shawn Paul and published by Archway Publishing. This book was released on 2023-12-07 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Religion, a set of organized beliefs, practices, and systems that relate to the worship of a controlling force, plays a crucial role in contemporary society. True doctrines of each religion lead us to become spiritual in nature which, in turn, propels us towards promoting the well-being of humanity. Therefore, integrating religion, spirituality, and humanity can cultivate and promote a focus on living consciously, harmoniously, and righteously. Shawn Paul blends science, social science, and spiritual science into a format of practical living based on human ideals and values to present a well-balanced view of each major religion. He not only examines the limitations of organized religious practices, but also highlights the true doctrines of each faith and their significance in human lives. While logically critiquing traditional religious practices, their significance and limitations, and the way they impact society, Paul also summarizes major themes and corresponding holy verses while encouraging compassion, peace, and love through spiritual consciousness and service to humanity. Religions, Spirituality, and Humanity shares a comprehensive examination of organized religious practices and their significance that inspires a harmonious life of personal fulfillment focused on contributing to the greater good and a peaceful coexistence.

Download or read book His Word Our Guide written by Eugene Schwarz and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2003-10 with total page 486 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: HIS WORD OUR GUIDE takes a panoramic view across the Old Testament, New Testament, and early Christian writings in search of definitive answers regarding early Church organization, doctrine, and practice. The sources speak for themselves with remarkable consistency and clarity, with a minimum of author narrative. Early Christian writings quoted were selected exclusively from the first three centuries of the Church, in the belief that those closest in time to Jesus and the Apostles were in the best position to comprehend His message. The selected references address common misconceptions, and clarify many issues of faith and morals. Particular attention is paid to issues that divide Protestants, Orthodox, Catholics, and Jews. Since we hold so many beliefs in common, a small change in attitude and understanding might help to draw us together. Holy Scripture repeatedly calls us to be united. This work aims to further that cause.
