Book Microscopie lectronique balayage et microanalyses

Download or read book Microscopie lectronique balayage et microanalyses written by François Brisset and published by EDP Sciences. This book was released on 2012-12-04 with total page 930 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Scanning Electron Microscopy and X Ray Microanalysis

Download or read book Scanning Electron Microscopy and X Ray Microanalysis written by Joseph Goldstein and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 830 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last decade, since the publication of the first edition of Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-ray Microanalysis, there has been a great expansion in the capabilities of the basic SEM and EPMA. High resolution imaging has been developed with the aid of an extensive range of field emission gun (FEG) microscopes. The magnification ranges of these instruments now overlap those of the transmission electron microscope. Low-voltage microscopy using the FEG now allows for the observation of noncoated samples. In addition, advances in the develop ment of x-ray wavelength and energy dispersive spectrometers allow for the measurement of low-energy x-rays, particularly from the light elements (B, C, N, 0). In the area of x-ray microanalysis, great advances have been made, particularly with the "phi rho z" [Ij)(pz)] technique for solid samples, and with other quantitation methods for thin films, particles, rough surfaces, and the light elements. In addition, x-ray imaging has advanced from the conventional technique of "dot mapping" to the method of quantitative compositional imaging. Beyond this, new software has allowed the development of much more meaningful displays for both imaging and quantitative analysis results and the capability for integrating the data to obtain specific information such as precipitate size, chemical analysis in designated areas or along specific directions, and local chemical inhomogeneities.

Book Energy Dispersive X ray Analysis in the Electron Microscope

Download or read book Energy Dispersive X ray Analysis in the Electron Microscope written by DC Bell and published by Garland Science. This book was released on 2003-07-10 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides an in-depth description of x-ray microanalysis in the electron microscope. It is sufficiently detailed to ensure that novices will understand the nuances of high-quality EDX analysis. Includes information about hardware design as well as the physics of x-ray generation, absorption and detection, and most post-detection data processing. Details on electron optics and electron probe formation allow the novice to make sensible adjustments to the electron microscope in order to set up a system which optimises analysis. It also helps the reader determine which microanalytical method is more suitable for their planned application.

Book Advanced Scanning Electron Microscopy and X Ray Microanalysis

Download or read book Advanced Scanning Electron Microscopy and X Ray Microanalysis written by Dale E. Newbury and published by Boom Koninklijke Uitgevers. This book was released on 1986-03-31 with total page 486 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book has its origins in the intensive short courses on scanning elec tron microscopy and x-ray microanalysis which have been taught annually at Lehigh University since 1972. In order to provide a textbook containing the materials presented in the original course, the lecturers collaborated to write the book Practical Scanning Electron Microscopy (PSEM), which was published by Plenum Press in 1975. The course con tinued to evolve and expand in the ensuing years, until the volume of material to be covered necessitated the development of separate intro ductory and advanced courses. In 1981 the lecturers undertook the project of rewriting the original textbook, producing the volume Scan ning Electron Microscopy and X-Ray Microanalysis (SEMXM). This vol ume contained substantial expansions of the treatment of such basic material as electron optics, image formation, energy-dispersive x-ray spectrometry, and qualitative and quantitative analysis. At the same time, a number of chapters, which had been included in the PSEM vol ume, including those on magnetic contrast and electron channeling con trast, had to be dropped for reasons of space. Moreover, these topics had naturally evolved into the basis of the advanced course. In addition, the evolution of the SEM and microanalysis fields had resulted in the devel opment of new topics, such as digital image processing, which by their nature became topics in the advanced course.

Download or read book Microscopie lectronique balayage et Microanalyses written by Jacky Ruste and published by . This book was released on 2018-12-04 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
