But this was Sydney in the early Eighties-the beginnings of the AIDS epidemic, street gangs, gay bashings and murders. When a gang of skinheads bash Davo's old school- friend to death simply because he was gay, and leave Davo almost dead in an intensive care unit, they unleash a crazed killer onto the city streets. Before the summer had ended, over thirty corpses had turned up in the morgue, leaving two bewildered detectives to find out where they were coming from. Davo's Little Something is not for the squeamish. Although written with lashings of black humour the action is chillingly brutal-a story of a serial killer bent on avenging himself on the street tribes of Sydney...

Book Erika Sutter Seen with Other Eyes

Download or read book Erika Sutter Seen with Other Eyes written by Gertrud Stiehle and published by African Books Collective. This book was released on 2014-05-02 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Swiss ophthalmologist Erika Sutter was born in Basel in 1917. She spent 32 years working in Elim Hospital, founded by the Swiss Mission in an impoverished rural area in North-Eastern South Africa. Together with her African colleague and friend, Selina Maphorogo, she founded the Care Groups, village self-help groups working for better health in their communities. The movement is still active after more than 30 years, and now has around 2,000 members, mostly women, in over 200 villages. Erika Sutter has received numerous international honours and awards for her pioneering work, including the award Woman of the Year in 1984 from the South African newspaper The Star, and an honorary doctorate from the University of Basel. For the creation of this biography, Erika Sutter spent many hours with the author, her friend Gertrud Stiehle, telling the story of her long life vividly, with a sharp eye for social issues, a hint of self-irony, and dry wit. Her account does not ignore events in the wider world. She experienced life on the Swiss-German border during the Second World War, and her years of working in South Africa were those when the apartheid policies of the South African Government were becoming more and more repressive, affecting many aspects of life in the country.

Book excerpt: Foreword by Jerry Falwell Jr This book will cut through the media noise and reveal what the media won’t cover while objectively helping you understand what our nation’s most unlikely and unconventional president has accomplished. If Donald Trump’s election was an earthquake, his accomplishments since then are the aftershocks the world never saw coming. The Trump agenda, promoted daily to millions of voters is helping to “make America great again.” At the same time, the opposition’s agenda is to obstruct and ultimately impeach Donald Trump. Trump Aftershock by Stephen E. Strang explores how Trump’s agenda aims to: Free the economy and stock market to boom as never before Restore the federal courts with judges who rule by the Constitution, not legislate from the bench Address the surge of illegal immigration Rebuild the US military to ensure peace through strength Combat the media's fake news war on the president Deal with Kim Jong-Un, Vladimir Putin, and others through an unconventional approach to foreign policy Expose the deep state and the agenda of former President Obama Strengthen ties with Israel and find a lasting peace in the Middle East Protect religious liberty and traditional values Uplift America’s standing in the world while putting America’s interests first And more! In Trump Aftershock, Strang explores Trump's effect on American culture from a Christian perspective. Additional Features: Full-color photo section capturing significant moments in the Trump presidency Graphs and charts to illustrate the latest research and data Includes Trump’s 500 Days of American Greatness
