Sie lernen. Lernen ist ein unvermeidbarer, lebenslanger Prozess. Das Lernen ist ein Bestandteil eines jeden. Lernen findet in der Schule, auf der Straße, beim Studieren von Büchern sowie bei dem Zusammenleben mit anderen Menschen statt. D.h. man lernt aus Büchern, in Institutionen oder von anderen Menschen. Kein Mensch kann ohne soziales Umfeld existieren. Er kann nicht alleine leben, da wir heute auf den Anderen angewiesen sind. Für jede Gesellschaft und jedes Subjekt stellt der Umgang mit dem Anderen eine unverzichtbare Voraussetzung dar. Wir brauchen die Anderen. Wie oben erwähnt, unabhängig von Kultur und Glaube, ist jeder Mensch ein Individuum, welcher in dem Sinne interessant ist, da er ein breites Spektrum an Neugierde und an etwas neuem weckt. Aber wer sind die Anderen? Eine allumfassende und konkrete Definition der Anderen ist nicht gegeben. Wer als Anderer empfunden wird, ergibt sich aus Prozessen des Sich-in-Beziehung-Setzens mit einem inneren oder äußeren Gegenüber. Die Figurationen des Anderen sind vielfältig: der Fremde, der Feind, der Freund, das andere Geschlecht. In dieser Arbeit werden die Anderen als „Fremde“ verstanden werden. Unter „Fremd“ ist im Allgemeinem der Mensch gemeint, der einer anderen Kultur angehört respektive einen anderen Glauben ausübt. In dieser Arbeit wird der „Fremde“ dem „Ausländer“ gleichgestellt. Als Ausländer werden Menschen bezeichnet, „die sich nach den Eigenschaften der Staatsangehörigkeit, der ethnischen Zugehörigkeit, der geographischen Herkunft oder der familiären Abstammung von anderen Einwohnern des Landes, aus dessen Perspektive die Betrachtung erfolgt, unterscheiden.“ 1 Vor diesem Hintergrund stellt sich die Frage, ob von den Anderen gelernt werden kann. Können die Anderen als Lerngegenstand dienen? Um diese Fragen zu beantworten wird zuerst auf das Lernen (als Prozess) und danach auf die interkulturelle Erziehung und interkulturelle Bildung eingegangen werden. Interkulturelle Bildung und interkulturelle Erziehung sind Aspekte einer pluralistischen Gesellschaf, welche mitunter von der Globalisierung geprägt sind. Neben negativen Auswirkungen der Bildungsglobalisierung, kann dieser auch ein positiver Effekt zugeschrieben werden. Nämlich, „lernen, Wissen zu erwerben, lernen, zu handeln, für das Leben lernen und lernen mit anderen zu leben.“
