Download or read book Daniel written by Ralph F. Wilson and published by . This book was released on 2015-09-01 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Disciples need to study Daniel afresh. The Book of Daniel is both familiar and mysterious. You find the stories of the Hebrew children in the fiery furnace, Daniel in the Lions' Den, and the Handwriting on the Wall. But the book also contains visions of beasts and horns and kings that predict the future from Daniel's time all the way to the Second Coming of Christ. Daniel is foundational to the New Testament for three reasons: 1.The "Son of Man" that Jesus takes as his own title, is drawn directly from Daniel 7:13-14. As you understand Daniel's prophecy, you begin to comprehend Jesus' origins, authority, self-understanding, and mission. 2.Kingdom of God. The coming of the all-encompassing Kingdom of God has strong roots in Daniel's visions. This Kingdom is at the very core of Jesus' teaching. 3.Daniel's eschatology, his visions of the End Time, are echoed in the predictions of Jesus himself, of Paul the Apostle, and in the Book of Revelation. We'll look at the Book of Daniel in the light of New Testament revelation. However, the author says, "I don't have Daniel's visions of the Last Days all figured out, and I am leery of those who seem to be able to fit everything together perfectly." Daniel is like a jigsaw puzzle with some pieces missing. Though the main outlines are clear, some details can't be discerned at present. The task of this book is to help you understand what Daniel does teach, pros and cons of various interpretations of the key prophecies, to let you know where the author comes out and why, and to give you some sense of a level of certainty. This book is intended for study as well as instruction, presented in nine lessons. Each chapter concludes with a summary of lessons for disciples to ponder. Helpful thought and discussion questions make it useful for personal enrichment and by small groups and classes. Extensive research contained in the footnotes makes it a goldmine for teachers and a boon to preachers involved in sermon preparation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Original Title: Daniel the Prophet. New, updated edition. Riches and honour and life are the remuneration of humility and of the fear of the LORD. – Proverbs 22:4 God will exalt us when the time is right. We needn't try to promote ourselves; we needn't struggle for position. Let God put us where He wants us and let us be true to God. It is better for a man to be right with God, even if he holds no great earthly position. It is honest and humble men whom God will promote, if He so desires. This study illustrates what Daniel did, and also what Daniel didn't do, which caught the attention of God and kings alike. Few are the men in history of Daniel's caliber, even though the principles he followed can be implemented by all. Are you ready to be a truly great man, one that will cause God and men to take notice?

Book The Wiersbe Bible Study Series Daniel

Download or read book The Wiersbe Bible Study Series Daniel written by Warren W. Wiersbe and published by David C Cook. This book was released on 2012-11-13 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: His name meant "God is my judge," and his life bore witness to that fact. Daniel was a man who knew the Most High. An intimate friend of God, he realized simultaneously that friendship cost time kneeling in humility. He understood God's sovereignty, even in pagan Babylon where the Jews were exiled, and he refused to compromise his faith. Daniel's resolution meant sacrifice. It meant discipline in prayer, diplomacy with government leaders, and dedication to living "set apart." It meant depending on an unchanging God to give him an unwavering vision. Amid a pagan nation, an arrogant king, ravenous lions, and a blazing furnace, Daniel and his friends sought God and found Him in a way that will inspire and strengthen your journey. The same God who shut the lions' mouths and rescued His men unscathed from the flames will consecrate you to dream His dreams and do His work if only you allow Him. Do you have what it takes?

His commitment to the Lord God Almighty never fluctuated. He relied upon God for both life-saving miracles and the smallest of provisions. In this intriguing book, we will examine this one man’s unwavering faith in his God, beginning from the time that he arrived in Babylon as a young Jew and continuing throughout his years of service under the authority of several kings and kingdoms. There is perhaps no better example of godly faith, dependency, trust, and worship than in the character of the prophet Daniel. He was faithful to God and commendable before men. "This chapter by chapter and verse-by-verse exegesis of the wonderful prophetic work of Daniel—in itself one of the most readable books of the Bible—is a triumph. This major collaborative undertaking provides a format for devotional study that challenges any other work of its kind. For any reader with a thirst for irrefutable Bible knowledge, this scholarly but practical approach to the study of Daniel is enthusiastically recommended." • Author : Tremper Longman
  • Publisher : InterVarsity Press
  • Release : 2020-05-05
  • ISBN : 0830853219
  • Pages : 203 pages

Download or read book How to Read Daniel written by Tremper Longman and published by InterVarsity Press. This book was released on 2020-05-05 with total page 203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beyond the familiar lions' den and fiery furnace, much of the book of Daniel seems baffling to modern readers. The first half recounts stories full of ancient Near Eastern protocol and imperial court drama; the second half features apocalyptic visions of monstrous beasts and cosmic conflict. Many Christians misunderstand or simply avoid the book. But failing to read Daniel well means missing a critical part of God's message to us. According to Tremper Longman III, when we read Daniel on its own terms and in its original context, we'll discover that all of the book is easier to understand than we might think. In this volume of the popular How to Read Series, Longman brings his expertise as an Old Testament scholar and teacher to orient readers to a proper engagement with Daniel. He examines the book's genre, structure, historical background, and major theological message before diving deeper into each of the stories and visions. As we learn how to enter the world of Daniel, we find a message not only for his generation but also for ours: even in hostile circumstances, God is in control, and he will have the final victory. Longman draws out this theme of Daniel for the twenty-first century, finding help for faithful living in a toxic culture and hope in a troubled world. How to Read Daniel is the perfect starting point for anyone studying, teaching, or seeking a reliable guide to this ancient book.
