Book Daddy Please Know More Than Me

Download or read book Daddy Please Know More Than Me written by Eric Thompson and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-01-16 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the hazards of parenting is that our children might have questions that we dont have an answer to. That can be disastrous because our children expect us to know more than they do. Wrong answers can be worse than no answers because the child may have already decided what the right answer may be and is just checking to see if what they have already decided is correct. To come up with something less believable than what they have determined to be the truth tells the child they cant come to you for answers.

Book excerpt: What if something that you have always taken for granted turned out to be something so wrong that it shook you to your very foundation. Something your parents would never allow you to question while you grew up. That is the case in which attorney Donegan Coffey found himself after being raised in a devout Irish catholic family. Coffey's mother died three days after he finished the bar exam. His mother's death put him in a tail spin for about eleven years. Coffey self medicated on alcohol while building his legal practice until he finally started coming out of it after moving out of the neighborhood parish in which he was raised. His father remained in the family homestead and got older and required the assistance of Coffey and his seven brothers and sisters. They all banded together to care for their father as the neighborhood around him changed. All tried to keep him safe until one night the parish priest was found murdered in the alley outside of the rectory. As this only happened three blocks from his father's house, Coffey felt compelled to look into the circumstances of Father Mike's murder who had been a close family friend for some thirty years. As Coffey investigates the murder, he uncovers a past that calls into question all the religious beliefs that his parents had drilled into his head while growing up. The final outcome makes Coffey question everything about his mother's beliefs, the church and the parish in which he was raised.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Being blessed to have traveled extensively around the world, I have had the pleasure to truly see the differences and the similarities of all humans upon this earth. It is not an easy thing to see people suffering in their lives and not be moved to some kind of action or at the least speak openly about it. Bringing attention to things that can be changed, that often is ignored, because no one wants to be responsible for speaking out against wrong. Seeing that if a situation isn't directly affecting a person, then it seems to not be important to help change it. I am compelled to often write about the common things in life that effects every human, yet for some reason or another, no one wants to address. Life is about growth, not living in denial about what can be made right. Everyone in this life deserves a chance to have joy, peace and happiness, without others pressing their ways upon them. I believe that, we are our worst enemies and until we come to the realization that most of our suffering in life comes from ourselves, and we have the power within ourselves to change that. Then and only then will this world be the place it was intended to be. I encourage all who read this book, to be encouraged, and know that there is nothing in this world you can't overcome. Just believe in yourself, and never give up.

The next moment, she was dealing with a shocking reality: Paul was on life support and the doctors did not think he would make it through the next hourmuch less the night. Jennifer soon learned Paul was suffering from toxic shock syndrome and hung precariously between life and death while she helplessly watched. As family arrived for what they believed would be their last moments together with Paul, Jennifer realized she had a choice to make: either focus on the dire prognosis or focus on God and pray for Him to heal her husband. Jennifer fixed her eyes on God and engaged their community to pray with her on their journey. And what happened next was nothing short of an everyday miracle. In this moving story, a wife and mother shares how she prayed God would save her husband from almost certain death and, in the process, illustrated to others that He is always there, no matter how difficult the circumstances.
