Book Welcome Niqynu

Download or read book Welcome Niqynu written by Greg J. Delle and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2015-11-30 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author Greg J. Delle has not yet completed his lifetime study of natural humanity and manipulated governed humanity. He and his childhood giraffe friend (Niqynu) travel back through time to when Delle was one year old, to the present, and to the future. Delle depicts how our great inventors, writers, and a host of gifted legends became successful. Despite a system of scarce schooling and academics, they still prevailed. Delle compares this with current academic standards and how academics can affect a child’s creativity. He asks what good are competition and the disease of believing you have to be number one. The twelve hours a day of study and homework a child has – does it teach each and every child to be better than one another? Instead, it would be better to have schools that teach parenting and help people respect and be polite to one another. Delle and Niqynu study the history of religion and how it has affected and continues to affect modern civilization. Of course, God is energy shared by everyone. Delle and Niqynu studied the laws of the Bible, modern school bureaucracy, and the government system - its laws, rules, regulations, fines, penalties, and restrictions. This arduous squeezing system comes down on parents and poor people, to force their children to fit the modern moral mold. Delle and Niqynu question the behavior of adolescents and adults. The rule of sexual societal behavior needs to be set free. Delle and Niqynu never stop asking questions because it is their destiny to help prevent child abuse. Just look at all of the mental and physically abused children. His questions are still unanswered. Come and join them on their quest.

Book Angels by the River

Download or read book Angels by the River written by James Gustave Speth and published by Chelsea Green Publishing. This book was released on 2014-10-28 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reflections on race, environment, politics, and living on the front lines of change In Angels by the River, James Gustave "Gus" Speth recounts his unlikely path from a southern boyhood through his years as one of the nation's most influential mainstream environmentalists and eventually to the system-changing activism that shapes his current work. Born and raised in an idyllic but racially divided town that later became the scene of South Carolina's horrific Orangeburg Massacre, Speth explores how the civil rights movement and the South's agrarian roots shaped his later work in the heyday of the environmental movement, when he founded two landmark environmental groups, fought for the nation's toughest environmental laws, spearheaded programs in the United Nations, advised the White House, and moved into a leading academic role as dean of Yale's prestigious School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Yet, in the end, he arrived somewhere quite unexpected–still believing change is possible, but not within the current political and economic system. Throughout this compelling memoir, Speth intertwines three stories–his own, his hometown's, and his country's–focusing mainly on his early years and the lessons he drew from them, and his later years, in which he comes full circle in applying those lessons. In the process he invites others to join him politically at or near the place at which he has arrived, wherever they may have started.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A 95-year old Missourian, diagnosed with an inoperable blastoma, decides to write the story of his unusual life before he passes into history. Chester Hanley, born in 1907 in Gaults Dip, Missouri, has had an unusual existence. When he is born, a friend of his fathers donates a small orange bush as a birthing gift. It fruits every few months as the boy matures but each harvest only yields two oranges. Just like life, sometimes they are sweet, sometimes bitter and very occasionally one is bitter and one sweet. The fruit appears, during his early years, to be a catalyst in triggering dreams and, in those dreams, Chester sees glimpses of the present and future. Quincy Rawlins, the tree donator, warns Chester and his father in no uncertain terms that the boy can benefit others from what he learns in his dreams but he can never profit from the magic himself. In 1916, his father goes off to war but comes home a shell of his former self. Where before, he was a non-violent man, he now strikes his wife a few times. He assaults some fellow farmers and is sent to Prison in Springfield. When he returns, he is more violent and Chesters mother banishes him from the home. He goes to New York and becomes a street fighter where he is accidentally injured when he falls and strikes his head on a kerb. He comes back home as a shadow of a robust man he once was. He is put into a nursing home near Saint Louis where Chesters mother begins an affair with the treating doctor. Chester sees this in a dream and goes to the clinic, finds his neglected father and brings him back home. Later, his father suffers a brain aneurism and finally he dies. The story encompasses the lives of Chesters three younger siblings, three ex-wives, his involvement in World War II and his ongoing battles with his mother. He becomes a best-selling author (albeit involuntarily) and travels the USA and abroad but never lives anywhere except Gaults Dip. He stops writing in the 1960s but when, in late 2002, he diagnosed with the inoperable brain tumour, he decides to write his life story.
