La chaîne de traitement est constituée de deux étapes : l’étape de détection des pixels de la cible ou ATD (automatic target detection) et l’étape de reconnaissance de l’identité de la cible ou ATR (automatic target recognition). Les algorithmes à fenêtre glissante généralement utilisés pour la phase de détection voient leurs performances chuter dans les configurations de cibles proches. La méthode de séparation de mélange statistique proposée dans cette thèse permet de garantir un bon niveau de détection dans toutes les configurations multicibles. Cette approche modélise l’intensité des pixels d’une images SAR comme un mélange de deux lois statistiques associées aux pixels du fouillis et aux pixels des cibles. Un algorithme d’estimation des paramètres du mélange permet de calibrer un seuil de détection à taux de fausse alarme constant. L’étape de reconnaissance de la cible est effectuée à l’aide d’un algorithme tensoriel de classification supervisée. Les bases de données d’apprentissages de cibles SAR sont constituées d’images des différentes cibles qui résultent de la confluence de différents paramètres : angles de pose, angles de site... Un tenseur dont chaque dimension est associée à un des paramètres est construit avec toutes les images de la base d’apprentissage. La décomposition de ce tenseur permet d’utilise les corrélations aux ordres supérieures des données pour élaborer un critère de décision qui va attribuer une identité à la cible inconnue ou la rejeter si celle-ci n’appartient pas à une cible de la base d’apprentissage. L’algorithme tensoriel MPCA (multilinear principal component analysis) développée dans cette thèse garantit un taux élevé de bonne reconnaissance et permet d’estimer l’ensemble des facteur qui caractérisent l’image testée. De plus, il permet d’obtenir un très fort taux de compression des données utiles pour procéder à la classification.
