Book Cyclic Creep and Fatigue of TD NiCr thoria dispersion strengthened Nickel chromium TD Ni and NiCr Sheet at 1200 C

Download or read book Cyclic Creep and Fatigue of TD NiCr thoria dispersion strengthened Nickel chromium TD Ni and NiCr Sheet at 1200 C written by Marvin H. Hirschberg and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The resistance of thin TD-NiCr sheet to cyclic deformation was compared with that of TD-Ni and a conventional nickel-chromium alloy. Strains were determined by a calibration technique which combines room-temperature strain gage and deflection measurements with high-temperature deflection measurements. Analyses of the cyclic tests using measured tensile and creep-rupture data indicated that the TD-NiCr and NiCr alloy specimens failed by a cyclic creep mechanism. The TD-Ni specimens, on the other hand, failed by a fatigue mechanism.

Book Cyclic Deformation in Oxides Carbides and Nitrides

Download or read book Cyclic Deformation in Oxides Carbides and Nitrides written by Joshua Pelleg and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-11-18 with total page 542 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the fatigue properties of structural materials used for the production of ceramics. It explains the cyclic deformation and how failures occur by fatigue. Dislocations related to fatigue are examined. The way that fatigue induces structural changes in material undergoing cyclic deformation is explained as well. A special chapter considers the importance of environmental effects on fatigue. Surface treatment such as shot pinning, sand blasting and laser treatment are described. The book explains how design should be carried out considering all the major factors leading to reduced fatigue resistance.

Book Design Procedures for the Use of Composites in Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Structures

Download or read book Design Procedures for the Use of Composites in Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Structures written by Carlo Pellegrino and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-08-25 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyses the current knowledge on structural behaviour of RC elements and structures strengthened with composite materials (experimental, analytical and numerical approaches for EBR and NSM), particularly in relation to the above topics, and the comparison of the predictions of the current available codes/recommendations/guidelines with selected experimental results. The book shows possible critical issues (discrepancies, lacunae, relevant parameters, test procedures, etc.) related to current code predictions or to evaluate their reliability, in order to develop more uniform methods and basic rules for design and control of FRP strengthened RC structures. General problems/critical issues are clarified on the basis of the actual experiences, detect discrepancies in existing codes, lacunae in knowledge and, concerning these identified subjects, provide proposals for improvements. The book will help to contribute to promote and consolidate a more qualified and conscious approach towards rehabilitation and strengthening existing RC structures with composites and their possible monitoring.
