Book Cyclic CO2 Injection for Light Oil Recovery

Download or read book Cyclic CO2 Injection for Light Oil Recovery written by and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ultimate objectives of the research were to provide a base of knowledge on the cyclic CO2 stimulation (or CO2 huff-n-puff) process for the enhanced recovery of Louisiana crude oil, and to demonstrate the utility of the process to the small independent producer. The project was divided into four subtasks: laboratory coreflood experiments, computer simulation, field testing, and technology transfer. Laboratory corefloods were performed to investigate important process parameters. Computer simulation was used to confirm and expand laboratory coreflood results. A field-test data base was constructed and analyzed to facilitate target reservoir screening and to identify successful operational practices. The laboratory coreflood results and data base evaluations were used in the design and implementation of a field test that was conducted in conjunction with the private sector. The results of laboratory and field studies were disseminated to the industry through presentations at technical conferences and publications in technical journals.

Book A Comprehensive Study of CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery in the Langgak Field

Download or read book A Comprehensive Study of CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery in the Langgak Field written by Dr.-Eng, Muslim and published by UIR Press. This book was released on 2021-04-08 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is based on the laboratory and field research on Langgak Field, operated by SPR Langgak as one of Province-Owned Oil Company. This book is written to be a guideline and to add knowledge related to enhanced oil recovery (EOR) activity, particularly CO2 Injection. The authors are aware that the information about EOR activity in Indonesia is still limited, so with the presence of this book, we hope it can be made as a reference, not only for students but also for engineers and other researchers who would like to carry out or perform EOR project using CO2 Injection. The authors realize that there are some flaws in the completion of this book. Nonetheless, the authors believe this book will serve as a foundation for other CO2 EOR projects in Indonesia and improve the readers' understanding of CO2 Injection activity. Special thanks are given to the Director of PT. SPR Langgak, Mr Ikin Faizal, who gave us excellent support in the making of this book.

Book Carbon Dioxide Chemistry Capture and Oil Recovery

Download or read book Carbon Dioxide Chemistry Capture and Oil Recovery written by Iyad Karamé and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2018-08-16 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fossil fuels still need to meet the growing demand of global economic development, yet they are often considered as one of the main sources of the CO2 release in the atmosphere. CO2, which is the primary greenhouse gas (GHG), is periodically exchanged among the land surface, ocean, and atmosphere where various creatures absorb and produce it daily. However, the balanced processes of producing and consuming the CO2 by nature are unfortunately faced by the anthropogenic release of CO2. Decreasing the emissions of these greenhouse gases is becoming more urgent. Therefore, carbon sequestration and storage (CSS) of CO2, its utilization in oil recovery, as well as its conversion into fuels and chemicals emerge as active options and potential strategies to mitigate CO2 emissions and climate change, energy crises, and challenges in the storage of energy.

Book CO2 Storage Coupled with Enhanced Oil Recovery

Download or read book CO2 Storage Coupled with Enhanced Oil Recovery written by Kun Sang Lee and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-03-09 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive and detailed description of the various mechanisms of the CCS–EOR process. Whereas previous texts have primarily focused on carbon capture and storage (CCS) and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) separately, this book provides a general overview of both technologies when used together. Coupled CCS–EOR technology has become increasingly important, as it overcomes the respective shortcomings of the two technologies. The book presents an integrated numerical model including the hysteresis effect, solubility trapping, miscibility, and formation damage by asphaltene deposition. The experimental and model-based evaluation of fluid properties is also discussed. The book concludes by discussing the latest research into CO2 storage coupled with EOR, most notably performance control by including additives in CO2 injection, and CO2 injection into shale reservoirs. Ideally suited for graduate students and researchers in the fields of carbon capture, utilisation, and storage, the book shares essential insights into maximising the efficiency of CCS and EOR alike.

This book also provides proxy models to associate the functionality of the improved oil recovery by injecting different EOR methods with different operating parameters, rock, and fluid properties. The book provides profesasionals working in the petroleum industry the know-how to conduct a successful project for different EOR methods in shale plays, while it also helps academics and students in understanding the basics and principles that make the performance of EOR methods so different in conventional reservoirs and unconventional formations. Provides a general workflow for how to conduct a successful project for different EOR methods in these shale plays Provides general guidelines for how to select the best EOR method according to the reservoir characteristics and wells stimulation criteria Explains the basics and principles that make the performance of EOR methods so different in conventional reservoirs versus unconventional formations
