Book Cyclic and Noncyclic Organic Compounds

Download or read book Cyclic and Noncyclic Organic Compounds written by A. M. Askerova and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2023-10-27 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book discusses the main classes of cyclic and non-cyclic organic compounds, their structure, properties and methods of preparation. In close connection with the material under discussion, information is presented on theoretical concepts, spectral characteristics, issues of stereochemistry, kinetics and thermodynamics, and the most important modern methods of synthesis and analysis. The textbook is intended for university students of chemistry.

Book Alicyclic Chemistry

Download or read book Alicyclic Chemistry written by Martin Grossel and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An overview of the chemistry of cyclic (non-aromatic) organic compounds containing rings of carbon atoms. Such structures include many compounds which play a key role in the natural world (e.g. perfumes and pheromones) and in pharmacology (e.g. the steroids). An understanding of the fundamental concepts of this area of chemistry provides a key insight into many other areas of organic chemistry.

Book The Structure Dependent Energy of Organic Compounds

Download or read book The Structure Dependent Energy of Organic Compounds written by Árpád Furka and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-04-11 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This brief introduces readers to an alternative thermochemical reference system that makes it possible to use the heats of formation of organic compounds to deduce the energies that depend entirely on their structures, and which provides calculated values for most of the characteristic structures appearing in organic molecules. These structure-dependent energies are provided e.g. for selected compounds of normal and cyclic alkanes, open chain and cyclic olefins (including conjugated polyenes), alkynes, aromatic hydrocarbons and their substituted derivatives. The oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen derivatives of the above-mentioned compounds are also represented with calculated structure-dependent energies including alcohols, ethers, aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acids, thiols, sulfides, amines, amides, heterocyclic compounds and others. Most organic reactions can be interpreted as the disappearance of certain structures and formation of others. If the structure-dependent energies are known, it can be shown how the disappearing and the newly formed structures contribute to the heat of reactions and to the driving forces. As experienced by the author, who pioneered the concept, structure dependent energies can help teachers to make organic chemistry more accessible for their students. Accordingly, the brief offers a valuable resource for all those who teach organic chemistry at universities, and for those who are learning it.

Download or read book Heterocyclic Chemistry written by Jason Langdon and published by . This book was released on 2019-08-23 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heterocyclic compounds are of very much interest in our daily life. Heterocyclic compounds have one or more hetero atoms in their structure. They may be cyclic or non-cyclic in nature. Heterocyclic compounds have a wide range of application. They are predominantly used as pharmaceuticals, as agrochemicals and as veterinary products. They also find applications as sanitizers, developers, antioxidants, as corrosion inhibitors, as copolymers, dye stuff. They are used as vehicles in the synthesis of other organic compounds. Some of the natural products e.g. antibiotics such as penicillin's, cephalosporin; alkaloids such as vinblastine, morphine, reserpine etc. have heterocyclic moiety. This book has so closely matched the requirements of its readership over the years that it has become the first choice for chemists worldwide. Heterocyclic chemistry comprises at least half of all organic chemistry research worldwide. In particular, the vast majority of organic work done in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries is heterocyclic chemistry. Detailed, systematic discussions cover the reactivity and synthesis of all the important heterocyclic systems. Original references and references to reviews are given throughout the text, vital for postgraduate teaching and for research scientists.

Book Tables of Spectral Data for Structure Determination of Organic Compounds

Download or read book Tables of Spectral Data for Structure Determination of Organic Compounds written by Ernö Pretsch and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although numerical data are, in principle, universal, the compilations presented in this book are extensively annotated and interleaved with text. This translation of the second German edition has been prepared to facilitate the use of this work, with all its valuable detail, by the large community of English-speaking scientists. Translation has also provided an opportunity to correct and revise the text, and to update the nomenclature. Fortunately, spectroscopic data and their relationship with structure do not change much with time so one can predict that this book will, for a long period of time, continue to be very useful to organic chemists involved in the identification of organic compounds or the elucidation of their structure. Klaus Biemann Cambridge, MA, April 1983 Preface to the First German Edition Making use of the information provided by various spectroscopic tech niques has become a matter of routine for the analytically oriented organic chemist. Those who have graduated recently received extensive training in these techniques as part of the curriculum while their older colleagues learned to use these methods by necessity. One can, therefore, assume that chemists are well versed in the proper choice of the methods suitable for the solution of a particular problem and to translate the experimental data into structural information.
