Download or read book Custodians Of Truth written by Tim Wallace-Murphy and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on 2005-05-15 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A curious thing happened to Tim Wallace-Murphy and Marilyn Hopkins when they published Rex Deus, their first book on the bloodline of Christ: they were contacted by a man from the very lineage they were studying. And instead of denying the existence of the bloodline or berating them for revealing secrets, he actually confirmed that the Rex Deus lineage exists and even disclosed some of its fundamental secrets. The story of the Rex Deus families, direct descendents of Christ--who is believed to have survived the crucifixion?turns out to be much more extensive than the authors first thought. Instead of beginning during the time of Jesus, it stretches far back into antiquity, to the Egyptian Mystery Schools. Instead of being only a propagation of the holy bloodline, the Rex Deus families are also carriers of the secret teachings of Jesus. Custodians of Truth reveals the purpose and secrets of the Rex Deus lineage. Jesus was not only a holy man, but an adept of ancient knowledge, which informed his own teachings. This secret knowledge was suppressed by the Church in their voracious quest for power and influence in the secular world. These teachings have manifested throughout history in different forms--Gnostic philosophy around the time of Jesus, the Order of the Knights Templar, Freemasons, and the current resurgence of interest in New Age thought. Finally, the time is right for the hidden message of Jesus to be revealed--a message of tolerance, brotherhood, and respect for nature. The next chapter in the legend of the Holy Grail and the bloodline of Christ-from the best-selling authors of Rosslyn.

Book excerpt: Did Jesus found a dynasty that is still with us today? Rex Deus: Families of the Grail describes how Rex Deus, the descendants of the Twenty-Four High Priestly families of the Biblical Temple in Jerusalem went underground throughout Europe and kept their secret teaching alive despite terrible persecution. It describes how, after careful planning, they created the Order of the Knights Templar and laid the foundations for modern European culture. How their banking skills stimulated the growth of capitalism and banking and shows why they created an atmosphere of tolerance for the Cathars and other heretical groups. Their association with the legends of the Holy Grail and the veneration of the Black Madonna give us an indication of their true belief sustem. These families also influenced the Rosicrucians and played a vital, formative role in the foundation of Freemasonry to pass on what they believed were the true teachings of Jesus to the wider world.

Book excerpt: “The best book about the secret tradition I’ve read for many years. Tim Wallace-Murphy writes with style, passion and truth. A magnificent achievement.” —Graham Hancock, New York Times–bestselling author of Fingerprints of the Gods From Egyptian mythology to Jewish mysticism, Rome and Greece to the druids and the gnostics, Tim Wallace-Murphy exposes a fascinating lineage of hidden mysteries and secret societies, continuing through the Templars, Rosicrucians, and Freemasons to our modern visionaries. This hidden stream of spirituality and that of sacred knowledge are inseparably entwined to form the single most important continuous strand in the entire Western esoteric tradition. This tradition exerted a seminal influence on the thinking of the builders of the great cathedrals/ leading teachers in ecclesiastical schools/ philosophers/ playwrights/ poets such as Shakespeare, Goethe, Blake, and W. B. Yeats/ and on artists and Renaissance giants such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. It is also the root from which sprang alchemy and modern science. Now, as more people are looking to find information on the alternatives to dominant religions and dogmas that have told us what to think and how to behave, as faith has been questioned by religious scandals, economic meltdowns, and an increasingly sick planet Earth, Wallace-Murphy reveals the secrets of the masters, including invaluable spiritual insights into everyday life that have been hidden throughout the ages. He shows us who kept this spiritual tradition alive despite appalling persecution, so that we in the twenty-first century might benefit from its accumulated fruits and ennoble our lives. Hidden Wisdom will be of immense interest to readers of the number-one bestseller The Lost Symbol as it explains much of Dan Brown’s focus on the ancient mysteries.
Download or read book God s Promises That Keep Us written by J. Ellsworth Kalas and published by Abingdon Press. This book was released on 2010-09-01 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In the case of this book, I can tell you not only when it came to birth but also where. It was in a quite modest kitchen at 1506 Center Street in Sioux City, Iowa, over a period of years in the late 1930s. On a shelf in that kitchen, just above the stove, was a box of cards, each measuring roughly one by three inches, each one containing a verse from the Bible. The box was popularly referred to as “precious promises.” I don’t know if that was the name the publisher gave to the collection or if it was the title earnest Christians had given to such verses long before an enterprising publisher organized a specific collection into printed form; I only know how sacred and beloved the box was to my mother and to untold thousands of other persons at that time. The verses covered a wide area of biblical teaching. Many had a quality of admonition and instruction, but the overall mood was one of encouragement. Those who kept such a box in easy reach were sustained by the contents. Some verses took on such personal significance that they were laid aside on top of the box or beside it, to be looked at more often. Mind you, the owner of the box knew such verses by heart, but there was a peculiar strength in looking at the printed form and holding it in one’s hand. And I might add that by the time she took her “promise for the day” she would already have prayed on her knees and have read a longer portion from the Bible. I revered those promises because they meant so much to my parents, especially my mother, and because on several occasions I had seen how uniquely appropriate a particular verse proved to be at a particular time. That Center Street box has now been lost for half a century or more, so I can’t promise that the verses I embrace in this book were all in that box. The Bible verses I’ve included in this book are verses that have blessed me over the years, and I dare to believe that some or all of them will give a lift or a thought to you. Some have become significant to me in times of pain, some in joy. When you read this book, I’m very sure you will think of a verse that is priceless to you, and you’ll wonder why it’s not in this book. The verse may mean so much to you that perhaps you will reprimand me, even if kindly, for not including it. If you do, I’ll understand. I’ll just know that, whether or not you’ve ever seen a box of precious promises, you have discovered that there are promises that keep us. And I will thank God with you that you have found it to be so." (J. Ellsworth Kalas, adapted from the foreword) This book will contain a discussion guide.

Download or read book The Truth Machine written by Paul Vigna and published by St. Martin's Press. This book was released on 2018-02-27 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Views differ on bitcoin, but few doubt the transformative potential of Blockchain technology. The Truth Machine is the best book so far on what has happened and what may come along. It demands the attention of anyone concerned with our economic future." —Lawrence H. Summers, Charles W. Eliot University Professor and President Emeritus at Harvard, Former Treasury Secretary From Michael J. Casey and Paul Vigna, the authors of The Age of Cryptocurrency, comes the definitive work on the Internet’s Next Big Thing: The Blockchain. Big banks have grown bigger and more entrenched. Privacy exists only until the next hack. Credit card fraud is a fact of life. Many of the “legacy systems” once designed to make our lives easier and our economy more efficient are no longer up to the task. Yet there is a way past all this—a new kind of operating system with the potential to revolutionize vast swaths of our economy: the blockchain. In The Truth Machine, Michael J. Casey and Paul Vigna demystify the blockchain and explain why it can restore personal control over our data, assets, and identities; grant billions of excluded people access to the global economy; and shift the balance of power to revive society’s faith in itself. They reveal the disruption it promises for industries including finance, tech, legal, and shipping. Casey and Vigna expose the challenge of replacing trusted (and not-so-trusted) institutions on which we’ve relied for centuries with a radical model that bypasses them. The Truth Machine reveals the empowerment possible when self-interested middlemen give way to the transparency of the blockchain, while highlighting the job losses, assertion of special interests, and threat to social cohesion that will accompany this shift. With the same balanced perspective they brought to The Age of Cryptocurrency, Casey and Vigna show why we all must care about the path that blockchain technology takes—moving humanity forward, not backward.
Download or read book Seeking Wisdom from God written by Thomas H. Walker and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seeking Wisdom from God presents a fresh and unique look at some Biblical topics. Because knowledge increases faster than wisdom, we have an abundance of Biblical knowledge and a shortage of Biblical wisdom. Knowledge has increased, due to our advances in understanding the ancient Hebrew and Greek languages coupled with the dissecting of Scripture using historical, textual, and literary analysis. Tragically, Christianity looks nothing like its inception on the Day of Pentecost. Why are there over 20,000 different denominations? Why do I still sin daily? Have we replaced Divine Illumination with historical, literary and textual analysis? If Adam had not sinned, the world's population would have reached 100 billion in 1,836 years. How are we all going to fit on this planet when eternity begins? Why did God plant a fruit-yielding tree in Eden and then forbid Adam and Eve from eating of its fruit? "This was a very good book by a man of great wisdom" Five Stars, LibraryThing Reviewer "It's such an eye opener book" Five Stars, LibraryThing Reviewer "This is an excellent book for Bible study. It brings Biblical truths into a new perspective" Five Stars, LibraryThing Reviewer "a marvelous fusion of faith and scholarship" -- First Editing

Download or read book THRICE GREAT HERMETICA AND THE JANUS AGE written by Joseph Farrell and published by SCB Distributors. This book was released on 2020-06-16 with total page 375 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What do the Fourth Crusade, the exploration of the New World, secret excavations of the Holy Land, and the pontificate of Innocent the Third all have in common? Answer: Venice and the Templars. What do they have in common with Jesus, Gottfried Leibniz, Sir Isaac Newton, Rene Descartes, and the Earl of Oxford? Answer: Egypt and a body of doctrine known as Hermeticism. In this book, noted author and researcher Joseph P. Farrell takes the reader on a journey through the hidden history of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and early Enlightenment, connecting the dots between Venice, international banking, the Templars, and hidden knowledge. He draws out the connections between the notorious Venetian “Council of Ten,” little known Venetian voyages to the New World, and the sack of Constantinople during the Fourth Crusade. The hidden role of Venice and Hermeticism reached far and wide, into the plays of Shakespeare (a.k.a. Edward DeVere, Earl of Oxford), into the quest of the three great mathematicians of the Early Enlightenment for a lost form of analysis, and back into the end of the classical era, to little known Egyptian influences at work during the time of Jesus.

Download or read book The Specter of Hypocrisy written by Raphael Sassower and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-11-16 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Raphael Sassower examines the concept of hypocrisy for its strategic potential as a means of personal protection and social cohesion. Given the contemporary context of post-truth, the examination of degrees or kinds of hypocrisy moves from the Greek etymology of masks worn on the theater stage to the Hebrew etymology of the color adjustment of chameleons to their environment. Canonical presuppositions about the uniformity of the mind and the relation between intention and behavior that warrant the charge of hypocrisy are critically reconsidered in order to appreciate both inherent inconsistencies in personal conduct and the different contexts where the hypocrisy appears. Sassower considers the limits of analytic moral and political discourses that at times overlook the conditions under which putative hypocritical behavior is existentially required and where compromises yield positive results. When used among friends, the charge of hypocrisy is a useful tool with which to build trust and communities.
